What can I say, this past year has been a real rollercoaster for me. I have been through a few bumps, received some bruises and had some great times, had new experiences and met some new people as well. Not all have been pleasant, some have been scary and others amazing experiences that I will never ever forget. I decided to go back into the world of retail this year after a 5 year hiatus and have enjoyed it quite a bit. It has been the most amazing 24 hours in that I have had the oppertunity to hear/speak to/from about 6 people that I haven't had the chance to in many months. I'm just totally in awe over it and so very thankful that everyone is great . I love my friends !
Well I finally did it, pulled off the breakfast fundraiser for the volunteer ambulance. We had a great turnout from both our club and the ambulance volunteers although we were a little light on the amount of patrons. We still made money and had a very good time. They really enjoyed this event and had decided that if I agreed to lead this event again next year, they would provide me a co-chair from their organization to share the work load and equally divide the responsibilities. So I need to run a few errands before I head out to my youth group meeting and as I turn out of my tract onto a semi busy road, there's my mailman standing outside his truck holding a small dog and looking rather lost. I stop on the road and ask him if he's found a new friend for himself. He responds that he stopped to catch this little dog and it almost got hit by a passing car. I'm soo sad today. Daryl turns 20 and I just can't believe it. Seriously I just think, "where did the time go"? It feels like only yesterday that I was cradeling him in my arms. You think that you have all the time in the world and then you blink and he's a man. I've been having a difficult time for a couple of yrs. facing the fact that he's "grown up" and he's not going to be here w/me when he wakes every morning but 20! Well yesterday I went on my first wine tour with a group of friends. We were 18 women with a 40 year span between youngest/oldest, yet we all still had many things in common amoung us. We rented a limo/bus to take us around so we didn't have to worry about driving/parking and could really enjoy ourselves. Everyone brought a dish to pass and we feasted in between our tastings. Each winery had a different way of directing their tastings. Almost all had a fee between $1 and $3 for the tastings

My youth group meetings have started this month, what can I say but I love these kids. I never realized how much of an influence I am on them till a couple of weeks ago. A former student contacted me about being a reference for a job that he was applying for. I had worked with this young man for 4 years and he has always been terrific to say the least. To quote him:

My pets have always given me that love each and every day without asking for much in return. I guess thats why I always surround myself with so many. Worry about the daughter night and day hoping she will find relief from her illness of Crohns. They started a new medication admistered by IV's. She has had 1 treatment but her medications have made her sick so its hard to know if things are getting better for her. I worry about her son who has been watching his Mom many years feeling sick. I know he worries. He is very smart and is not dumb and knows what is going on with his Mom. I put him in swimming, Religion Prep, and just joined Karate. Ho

On Friday August 11th, STCT will be celebrating our second birthday/anniversary! Wow, I can not believe how fast the time has gone and how much we've grown. We still are "technically" considered a small forum because of our number of members, but what members we have. Our content and post count far exceed forums many times our size.

So last night was the audition for the next play I am interested in and I have to be there at 7pm, no problem. I look up on the map where I have to go and have a pretty good idea. Well Saturday evening I attended an awards banquet hosted by our local Community Theater Group. They presented me with an award similar to a congeniality award, thought it was so sweet of them . In addition I got to see several of the cast members from the play which was great. I really missed them and have decided that whoever gets their copy of the play first starts a telephone chain to get together to watch it as a group at my place, the idea was well received.

Now before you think I've lost my mind this is what I refer to as our summer snow. Every year at the beginning of summer the Cottonwood or Poplar Trees (known as both here) bloom and go into seed.
