Getting Better

Oh, Harley is getting better...we have had 2-3 days of being good! He is still so tired, but at least he plays and, of course, he is eating human food! Do I think he might be spoiled a bit??? YES!!!!! but I can't help it. I so want him to eat and I need to see some weight on his poor skinny body. Yes, he is beter...but he still has a long way to go! Today was the "unveiling" of his picture in the paper. so cute! chicken breasts for supper and he didn't hesitate on tha

Finally...

Yes! He is finally on the mend! I am not sure I could have taken much more.....I guess Harley was tougher than the Vet thought, considering they only wanted to give me 2 weeks of meds because "they were not refundable". Well, we showed them. God, it is such a great feeling to see him so alive again. Better and better each day..... all those prayers were answered..... :)

Two Weeks Ago Today

Two weeks ago today, I traveled 989 miles round trip to pick up the most adorable Shih Tzu named Nicky!! In those two weeks, he has become a part of my heart & life that means the world to me It all started back in May 2005 after losing my second Shih Tzu, Peaches. My friend Denice Rangel wrote me an e-mail & offered Nicky to me. I couldn't believe it! He is a retired champion Shih Tzu, only 4 years old & in perfect health!! She said the Lord told her to give him to me. I am so th

Good Day

Well, yesterday was a good day. Kind of lazy, but good I did get a lot of washings done. I had to strip the bed clothes because Nicky vomited on them early in the a.m. I think his tummy was empty. I did give him his bedtime treat, but maybe he needs two instead of one. He is so active compared to Charlee & Peaches. I love it though. Had to go check Judy's (my sister) mail, so I put Nicky in the car and drove around there. Max stayed at home. Nicky rides really well, just lays in the ba

Remodeling Uhg!

Well I finally have something to write about. I'll tell ya remodeling is for the birds. We thought we would take out carpet and trim, paint and lay new laminate wood floors, uhuh! We ended up renting a u-haul trailer so we could put our furniture in it. I had my china cabinet and my 60in. tv in my kitchen, (good thing about that was I didn't have to cook)! I'll tell ya the people who put up this nasty ugly border need to be taken out to the woodshed for a good lashing. I had to rent a steamer to

Play Update

Well I went in for another blocking rehearsal Monday night, I am having so much fun with this. It is going to be extremely differcult to keep a straight face during this play . I don't have to worry about much more now till early April as thats when the actual rehearsals will begin so I won't have much more to add for a couple of weeks, which is good as I won't have to worry about missing much after my surgery.

Happy First Day Of Spring!

At least thats what the calendar says . When I left this morning it was cold windy and snowy, so much for spring Currently the temp is about 26F or -4C but the sun is out and the snow gone. I am still surprised we've not had a huge snowfall this winter. I feel like it's waiting out there, lurking and going to hit us when we least expect it. I can't wait to feel the warmth of the summer sun and at this time of year I start to get impatient as I'm so weary of the cold, drab weather. At le

Pre-op Visit Today

Well I went to the Doctors today for my pre-op visit, . He asks "so are you ready" and of course I start to laugh and ask "are you ready" . He said he's looking forward to it as it's a different surgery then what he commonly gets to do, it's not unfamiliar just not the same daily routine. So I was a good girl, got my blood drawn at the lab, have my pain perscription to fill which I'll do this weekend and now I just have to get my call from the surgi-center to find out what time next Thurs

Thought It Was Time To Give An Update On The Play

Well on Monday evening, I went to meet the cast of the play. We read through the entire thing and I'll have to say that I'm really starting to look forward to this, it will be quite funny . Now as for me, as of Monday night, I had zero in the way of lines, lol. All I knew was that I'd be playing a saloon girl and that things will come in time. I had to attend a blocking rehersal last night for the first and last scenes. I now have a name and several lines. My name is Tinsel , will have

Hold On To Your Grocery Shopping Cart!

I am not a fan of grocery shopping but I usually go on a Sunday to do my weekly shopping. I needed to pick up lots of "odd things" this time such as spices and such. You know the kind of items you'd not normally buy more then a couple times a year and are never in the same location as you found them last time . Our local store here is forever rearranging things and even their own employees are never really sure where things were relocated. I was just about done with my shopping when I reme

The Audition........

I went to the audition last night for the play. There were 7 of us there auditioning and 3 people to listen to us read, one being the director. I have never done this before and I felt a little out of place as I was the only first timer there . I also found out after I was the only one looking at the script for the first time as the others had known about this audition for at least a week if not longer and had received copies ahead of time . I had no clue before Saturday night that it w

Another Crazy Venture For Me

Well many of you who know me know that I am very community oriented and involved in a community service club. Back in the Fall we had a couple of people from our local theater group come to speak at one of our dinner meetings. They had some of us participate in an improv type skit and since, Dick has been trying to get me to go to an audition . I missed the last one in December as I was in London and the play opened this weekend. I had gone with several members of my club and sure enough, I

Shopping For Bargains, One Of My Fav Things Lol.

Well yesterday after I helped someone figure out their brand new lap top (loading different programs and stuff) I was just down the road from the mall so I decided to stop on in to see what kind of "Sales" were actually going on. I was amazed to see that JC Penney had multiple rounders full of clothing marked down to $4.77 an item , I had a good time going through them. I found a pretty blouse, 2 skirts, a sweater thats designed like a blazer (originally priced at $72) and 3 lingerie items f

Pink's New Music Video

I love music but have never really been a big fan of Pink, until today. I have to tell you that I've heard her new song called "Stupid Girl" and wasn't really sure what I thought about it till I saw this video. I am LMAO as this video is the best, it is so funny and very true at the same time. I hope it makes it to the top and stays there for some time as it really sends a positive message out for young girls. If you have not had a chance to see it, you can view a stream of it here: Clicky

Happy Valentine's Day!

Well I wanted to take this oppertunity to wish anyone reading this a wonderful Valentine's Day! I've always wondered about this so called holiday usually filled with flowers, hearts and chocolate and decided to pull up some fun facts about it. Here goes, hope you enjoy Long before St Valentine lived, February 14th had strong links with fertility. The date traditionally is known for when birds choose their mates. February 15th was the date of the Roman festival of Lupercalia -

Women Over 40, A Commentary By Andy Rooney

Something I came across that I thought you'd all enjoy. Even though it's referring to women over 40 I think we all rock no matter how old or young we are! Enjoy! Andy Rooney says: As I grow in age, I value women who are over 40 most of all. Here are just a few reasons why: A woman over 40 will never wake you in the middle of the night to ask, "What are you thinking?" She doesn't care what you think. If a woman over 40 doesn't want to watch the game, she doesn

I Wish You Enough

I received this in an e-mail and thought I'd like to share it with everyone. I think it has a lot of meaning, hope you enjoy reading it. Recently I overheard a mother and daughter in their last moments together at the airport. They had announced the departure. Standing near the security gate, they hugged and the mother said, "I love you and I wish you enough". The daughter replied, "Mom, our life together has been more than enough. Your love is all I ever needed. I wish you enou

Winter

Well anyone who knows me knows how I dread winter; just hate it. The summer we had this past year was spectacular, something we hadn't seen in several years and I loved every moment of it. I started sitting out in the sun in mid April tanning my goose bumps but I didn't care as the winter before was so snowy and cold. We were so lucky to see the snow recede as early as it did and I for one was not going to miss a single day of sunshine basking in it's warmth and radiance. This brings me ba

Crazy Neighbors

Hmm, lets see. Someone started a post about crazy next door neighbors and I thought hmm, I’ve had my fair share of a few and it's probably best to just blog about some of my experiences . Here goes, and yes, it's all true! Brooklyn- Crazy E and her teenage kids , where do I even begin? This woman had gotten an above ground pool in her yard. Every year it was the same story for about 5-6 years . They would drain the pool from the year before as the water was disgusting and smell

Zeke's 1st Birthday

I never imagined being this attached to a dog (well most people see him as a dog, but we know the truth!). I had cats growing up, but when I started looking into getting my own place, the idea of company came up and I started researching shih tzus just solely based on what I had known of a friend's dog several years ago. I decided the breed was for me, and then out of no where, a co-worker said she knew of some puppies that were probably ready for homes. Two nights later, I got a call f

Update From London!

First please forgive any typos as I have had 4 hrs sleep in since Tues night with a very light 3 hrs in-between. What can I say, so far I'm having a great time although I am dead tired. I arrived yesterday at my hotel at 11 am their time (6am our) and I didn't sleep last night (I tried ) . I had walked all over the area yesterday and ended up last night at Harrods’s visiting Father Christmas (yes, I took my photo with him) and today I was all over London literally. I visited the D

London Bound!

Well it's been awhile since I've blogged but thought this deserved an entry, ! Those of you who know me know that I had been planning to travel to Europe this past September with my brother. I was really looking forward to this trip only to have my brother take a new position with another company, unable to go away. This left me with the choice of either canceling or going alone. After much debating and finding an offer I couldn't refuse, I am leaving on the evening of Nov 30th and will be

Hard Week

This past week has been a hard one for me. I am a speech-language pathologist in a public school. My first year of working (the 2003-04 school year), I had a little boy on my caseload that had a terminal disorder. He lived a lot longer than anyone ever expected and he passed away in his parents arms on November 10. Here is what I wrote to read during the share time during visitation hours: When I started working as a speech-language pathologist in District 5 August 2003, Ashton
