Hello Aunties. Where have you been?!?!? Mum says you all disappeared, and the blogg and all the stuff on the screen, and we had no one to tell all about our fab hol!!!
But it is OK now, cos you are back.
We had a great hol. It was in somewhere called Cornwall, which is very green and has lots of mountains for Tara, and stuff like that. We stayed in a very very very old place. So old it is older than ANYTHING. And I didn't like the stairs, but that was OK cos Mum carried me up.
It was a very very very long drive. It took ALL DAY!!!! and we had to stop lots for pees and drinks and stuff. And of course Tara had a squitty tummy, but Mum said that my Magic Powder would work (Tree Barks) and 'thank heavens for slate flooring!'
So we slept a lot of the time in the car. We set off really early before I like to get up. And we arrived mid afternoon. Mum and Dad did lots of driving, and got tired, but it was OK cos we went for a walk when we arrived, in a town called Launceston. Mum did a funny thing with the name Launceston. Cos she says that people who live there call it Larnston or Lanson, but people like us who don't live there call it Lawn-sess-ton. Mum said we had to say it properly on account of Mum's great-grandparents having come from Cornwall, so we have to do Local-speak and not Grockle-speak. Grockles are tourists. It is very complicated, isn't it?
Anyway, we got there too early, before we could go to our cottage-den. So we went and found a paw friendly cafe, and sat under the table while Mum and Dad had tea coffee stuff. And Dad had his first Cornish Cream Tea with Clotted Cream. We weren't allowed any.
Then we went and had a walk. This was the Church. The outside is made of something called local granite.
Mum and Dad wanted to go inside, so we asked the nice lady sitting inside if that was OK. She said not really. But then she saw us. And she changed her mind. So long as we didn't do poos or pee on the wooden pews and stuff.
As if I would!
Although Tara got bored, and tried to fight me. So me and Mum went in one direction and her and Dad went in the other, cos Mum said that Churches shouldn't be filled with the sound of Ninja snarling.
It was a nice church, but the inside was too dark for pics (Mum says) and the outside was the best bit.
After that we got back in the car. I didn't like the car by now, and I didn't want to get in. But this was just a short drive to our cottage-den.
Mum says that it has architectural features dating from the late 1500s, but may be later cos building styles were delayed in the provinces. I have no idea wot that means! Mum tried to take pics, but they were none of them as nice as the pics on the holiday website, so you are best looking at those.
Mum slept on this side of the bed, and Dad slept on the other. That door is to the bathroom. Mum wanted to be near the window, but it meant she had to walk round the end of the bed to go to the bathroom in the night. Can you see how uneven the floor is? She said she nearly fell down the stairs which are just beyond the rug.
There were old nails still stuck in some of the beams. Nails so old that they were made by blacksmiths. Generations of Mums and Dads must have hung things from them.
Tara liked widdling on the broken slate, then she scratted and kicked it about. I prefer proper gravel, like we have at home.
See the beams in the ceiling. They are why the bedroom floor was all wonky. I stayed on the bed, so I didn't get wonked.
Mum said it was a lovely little kitchen, but that had to be the smallest fridge ever! There was barely room for our paw food in it.
There was parking and some green stuff for widdling on, in a proper garden round the corner. And the doors were all about Mum's nose level (Mum: the top of the door frames were about 5 foot 2 inches! We both had to walk around hunched over for the entire week, but poor Mr C was bent like a pretzel)
Tara discovered the stairs as soon as we got there, and went hopping up them. But then she got scared, and wouldn't come down them by herself. So Mum and Dad had to keep the door shut, cos she thought it was great to go up them and then sit whining at the top til Dad rescued her. Mum wouldn't do it. But Dad is a big softie and he let her get away with it. I think she is silly cos those stairs were SCARY. They were all dark black wood and creaky and the up bits were higher than my head, and they went up in a bendy way. I didn't like them! So Mum used to carry me up and put me straight on the bed. I liked that.
Dear Aunties, I am just writting to tell you that we are going on holiday tomorrow.
Mum says we will have a great time, and it will be all sniffy and exciting, but I am worried. Tara says I worry too much, but all the packing and stuff is very tiring, and we have to set off very very very early in the morning. I usually have a nice lie in, and I won't get one.
Mum says we can all sleep in the car, and then wake up when we get there. She is going to sleep too.
Tara says there are lots of mountains in Cornwall, and rocks and moors and beaches and stuff, cos Dad told her all about it. And Dad has a long list of places we are going to sniff.
Mum says that we are taking special powder stuff to put on my food so I won't get an upset tum. I don't want an upset tum ever again!!! And we will have a garden.
So it might be OK.
I just want to be wherever Mum and Dad are. And Tara of course. So long as she doesn't bounce too much...
Hello Aunties. I'm going to tell you all about my Foxy Walk cos it was exciting, and Cato is asleep, so I get to bloggify! Haha!
So, these first pics are all slobbery. That's cos I licked the camera while Mum was lifting me out of the car, haha! and she didn't realise until she had taken some pics. She huffed about it, but AuntieJane thought it woz very funny. So did I!
Cameras don't taste of much.
This is AuntieJane and Cookie. Cookie is very old and has trembly legs, but she is very friendly, and I don't mind her. Her Dad is a bit old too, but he is very nice, and he likes walking with Cookie. He says that her tail never stops wagging.
Can you see my slobber?
Mum says they have weeded this flowerbed thing, and next time we come there will be a surprise!
We are having a drink. It woz a bit hot. And I was running low on my lickystuff, cos of the camera.
Boring pic like Mum does every time, to show the green summer foly stuff.
Pic of lots of people with a ball wot I am not allowed to go and say hello to. and not allowed to play ball with. and not allowed to invade their pitch. and lots of other boring rulz wot aren't fair!!!
I have yellow bows in today. Mum says yellow is summery.
Oh, and Cato woz hot coz I bounced on him.
But then I raced him! I am MUCH faster and bigger and stronger than him, and I got right out in front, and was super-Ninja-fast and he is so wimpy that he couldn't keep up! haha!
But... where's he going?
Not fair! That is cheating! And now he is in front and I have to accelerateify my athleticals so I am a blurr, coz he didn't chase me properly, and now he is in front! I hate it when he is in front!
But I catched him up! The little wimpy cheat!
At this point AuntieJane was all squeaky about us running out onto the parcark, and getting splatted, and she woz worried.
But Mum said 'don't worry' Cato will wait for us', and he did. He stopped so suddenly that I shot past him. More sneaky cheating! Its because Cato doesn't like being far from Mum. He is worried he will lose her.
I don't like being far from Dad, but that is different, it is coz Dad gets lost. It isn't coz I am a Mummy's boy, is it?
and then we came home.
Oooh it was hot. Mum said only once round the lake today on account of the hotness, but in the end I didn't want to go round again. It was hothothot.
this is the pink Vetch climbing up the post
don't know wot those purple things are, but Mum says they are special and wild and pretty.
It was windy! Can you see the wind doing weird stuff to the water round the island?
Look! There are new swan pups!
Mum said 'Now Cato, behave yourself! Mummy and Daddy swans don't like paws who are too nosey!'
But they were really sniffy and interesting.
And I was only looking...
But the Mummy swan got cross with me, and I made a tactical retreat! That is a technical term. A Hunting term.
The swans didn't mind Mum. I think they thought she had some treats for them.
Mum is v pleased with the swan pic. Especially the one with its leg up in the air. And the foots in the water.
This is the new bench we found. It is all shiny new and fresh.
This is the rose that has all the rosehips in the cold weather
And all those little green blips will be Hawthorne berries.
It was still very windy
and Tara was doing her climby thing all the time. She is pretending to look at those yellow irises, but really she is just standing on the high bit.
We were getting near the carpark again, so Tara picked a fight. She always does this.
and then she ran off
and then she saw a mountain
and she was thinking of climbing it (of course)
only I goosed her haha! and then we had another fight, and she forgot all about the mountain. haha!
Hi Aunties. This is me standing on Cato, showing him who is boss. (that's me. being boss. cos I'm on top)
Aren't I awesomely Ninja?
and this is after. See how I am in front? and all Bossy?
but then he wants to have another go. Like he actually thinks he stands a chance!
Mum says you have to have a look at all these weeds. Cos she says it just goes to show (something or other really dull MumInGardeningMode. Yawn).
Cato used to do all the yawny gardening commentatering. But he says if I want to be Boss, I have to do the gardening too.
The Mum went off and sniffed these red things
While we waited with AuntieJane, cos the red stuff was too close to the road, and Mum thought I would get myself splatted.
As if I would! Bosses don't run out onto roads, do they?
More green stuff
AuntieJane wants to wine it. To drink.
Lovely sniffs. Cato is in front. He is trying to challenge my Bossiness, isn't he?
So I splatted him again! Ha! Take that. Servile worm!!!
But it woz a bit hot. So I didn't crush him completely, cos it would have been a bit puffy for me.
Then it woz a bit cooler in the shade. I like cool.
Being Boss is a bit tiring.
Hi Aunties! Me and Molly got our summer hair cuts and we wanted to show you!
Here I am, I decided it was soooo hot I wanted to go pretty short! Cept mommy got it a bit too short on my chest, it shows my bald spot.. hope that grows back fast!
Mommy couldn't get a good one like this for Molly cuz she's a wiggle butt! So here's one of us! Molly wanted to go super short, she's way hotter than me plus she's Always getting into something so mommy & daddy thought it was a good idea too!
And looky here, mommys finally starting to get it so we can see Molly's eyes better! She's got way littler eyes, mommy says everything bout her is sooo little it's a lot harder to do her!
Hey Aunties, Molly here! Guess what, I get to try to keep a top knot!! I'm not sure I want one but I wanna try so mommy left it for me and sometimes mommy makes me a little one!
hope you still recognize us! Missy & Molly
it is very very hot Aunties. I don't think i like it.
last night in the Big Bed, it was terrible hot, and i had to lie on my back to cool my tum! Tara did too. Although she did it sideways and tried to push Dad out of bed. And she snores even louder when she sleeps on her back.
then this evening, i had to keep getting off Mum's lap. Cos of the hotness. Mums' laps shouldn't be so hot! They should be nice and snuggly when it is cold outside, and then nice and cool when it is hothothot outside. I miss Mum's lap. It is important Together Time, and the hotness wrecks it!
Aunties! Well mommie done gone and did something new to me and I'm telling on her cause I didn't know what she was doing to me.
Just look, it's all gone! Mommie said I'd be much cooler being a one inch girl and not have to go through pulling out tangles and mats every morning now so guess that's a plus. At least she saved my top knot, girls gotta have somewhere to hang her bows don't they? I already been digging at my top knot cause mommie did it in a hurry so she could get on with it as she said...that'll teach her
Phew is hot out here today, already feeling cooler mom
Think I will sit here in the shade awhile, this new hair cut isn't so bad after all. Pip keeps following me around trying to figure out what's different...just like a man not to notice I had my hair done.....Last laugh will be on him though....Yours if coming off tomarrow big brother
Hi Aunties Missy here! It's been a long time so I gotta catch you up!
First, ya all know mommy had her eye surgery. me and Molly were scared, mommy and daddy left real early and we had to stay in our boxes for a long time. And when they came home mommy had a pirate patch on her one eye, yup she did. And daddy had to take care of us and it was waaay different. Mommy an me slept on the couch for a few nights..
see mommy wasn't supposed to move her head down in any way, it was hard.. so I told mommy she could use my grooming pillow and it helped her a lot! I was real good I was mommys head nurse I taught Molly how to be one too, see!
Molly tried to be good but she wasn't real thrilled with daddy grooming us...
daddy said it was ok he felt the same..!
Then after just a few days after mommys surgery sumptin really bad happened to my tummy and I had mommy up most of the night then she finally got daddy up at midnight and said I had to go to emergency... I was pacing all over and was even scared of mommy, she didn't member but she had her pirate patch on and who wouldn't be scared of that... mommy couldn't go with me to emergency she kinda sorta hurt her eye when she was helping me... she felt real bad she couldn't go but daddy put his foot down and said she had to take care of herself... it was in the wee hours of the morning, 1am, an me an daddy set off for the emergency vet.. and I was real scared but daddy took good care of me and didn't even get mad when I puked in the car- course it was mommys car!
Mommy says it was 1 year and 1 month to the day from the last time I had to go to emergency for my tummy. The dr thought that was odd too... they gave me that shot again and I came home, I still kept mommy up some but was better. I felt sad I couldn't be mommys nurse and she had to be my nurse... my tummy hurt bad Aunties...
Geez daddy took over all mommys nursing... and mine.. mommy says she got a real handsome but very strict male nurse! daddy don't let mama get by with nuthin! daddy's an ok nurse but I wanted mama and mama helped me but got hurt cuz she wasn't supposed to put her head down or lift me... and now she had to like start over with her eye healin... I feel real bad but I wanted my mama.. we was real lucky mama didn't hurt her eye worse daddy said... but I wouldn't a let her do that Aunties...she just helped me enough!
Molly was real good bout it all, she took care of mommy while I was gone and even ate all the sick girl food too, she thought chicken and rice was a real nice treat! That's good cuz I had to have it longer than normal this time. And then I started to get better and wanted to play and you won't believe what happened...
We was outside and I thought I heard Lizzie behind this box thingy we have and I got Real excited! Mommy was with me and you know she has that new eye and she saw it wasn't Lizzie at All it was a Snake a Copperhead- Yikes! Mama said snake- hit the deck girls, I did but geez Molly was clueless and just bout got in trouble, yup she did... we had to have a lesson after daddy killed the snake on listening to mama- I dunno why I had to I Know what to do but mama said I had to help train Molly so I did! Hey looky Aunties, this was daddy's 50 copperhead, that's a lot huh?!
So Molly wants to tell ya some stuff now, she learned sumptin else lately....
Aunties theres sooo much to learn and well I just wanna have fun but they keep tellin me not everything is fun... why Aunties? Shouldn't Everything be Fun?? Well this Big thing of water doesn't look Fun at all- mama kept tellin me to stay away... now I guess I Will if she's gonna put this dumb thing on me!
But looksie Aunties this is Real Fun, we got Bambi's here and a baby! Mommy says I'm not supposed to bark at Bambi specially babies but I Do, cuz it's Fun!!
Here they are Aunties! See they're eatin!
Aunties, Missy here.. seriously look what I have to put up with All day...
does she bark at anything serious?? No! Just at Bambi... Mommy says she's finally found her voice (she hardly barked at all before) and she's never seen nuthin like this so we just gotta be patient with her.. gee Bambi is such Old news!
Oooh Aunties before I sign off I gotta tell ya our good news! Mommy got a call and they moved her second eye surgery up to the end of July! She's sooo happy, I dunno why cuz it's by her birthday and it's a Big one this year Aunties, yup the big 60! Mommy says daddy kept askin her what she wanted since it was a big bday and she just never thought she'd get her eye sight for her bday! Silly mommy!! But seriously Aunties this one is Big cuz the dr isn't sure he can even do this eye see it's got damage to it (from an incident long long ago) and mommy is what she says they call legally blind in it... so it will be Huge if she gets to see outta it again, won't that be Grand!! Missy & Molly
Mum had important Mum Stuff to do, so we all went as a Pack and stayed in a hotel. I had been there before, when I was very little, but I still didn't like it very much. It is always very stressful when Mum and Dad put all their bags by the front door, and I have to go and sit with them, and worry in case they forget me. I mean, I know that Mum and Dad wouldn't ever forget me. I know that. But I still worry.
This is our hotel. There weren't any signs up about paws keeping humans on leads, so we didn't. Unless we were walking inside the hotel, of course.
This bit was the posh bit. We were staying in another bit or the hotel, around the corner, that was very nice, but not quite so posh.
We had lots of lovely trundles in the garden. Mum said the garden was big enough to call it the grounds. We managed to have a walk every time we went out for a widdle, so we got lots of walking and sniffing.
This is called a Water Gate. There is a river through the gate, and when people used to arrive at the house (now hotel), they got off the boat and walked up the steps. Mum says it is like a bus stop, but for a boat. The river is green cos of the waterlilies.
Tara climbed on the wall, of course.
Mum is going mad for the roses. Again.
This is us showing Dad the round about way back to our hotel room den, with the best sniffs.
there's the river again
and that is the walled garden where they used to grow all the veg stuff that humans eat. It is all overgrown now, and full of weeds.
Tara likes bridges. I don't. They are a bit high.
This is a monkey puzzle tree. It is a lot bigger than me, isn't it?
and there is a spashy fountain too
Mum said she was expecting to be eaten alive by bugs and things, but nothing bit her at all.
These are some sniffy roses
and this is us being bored, while Mum stakes the rose pics.
We had a nice trip, although it would have been nicer if Mum hadn't gone out to do her MumStuff all day.
But we got nice food. There was turkey breast and roast beef, wot Mum smuggled out of the dining room for us, and we had our normal stuff too, kept cold in a fridge thing in our den-room. And Tara didn't poo on the carpet, even though Mum had carpet cleaning stuff in the bag. So that was OK, And apart from barking when people walked past our room-den, she was quiet.
Mum and Dad had a conversation about Tara's barking, and made her sleep in the middle of the bed, with her lead on, so she couldn't jump off and go and bark at the door. After that, it was much more peaceful.
And she only ran out of the room once, and frightened an old lady (when Dad went out and didn't shut the door quick enough). But Dad said it was OK, cos he apologised and introduced them, and it turned out the old lady was more surprised than frightened. cos Tara isn't really scary, is she? Just silly and bouncy.
I think people liked us. We went and sat outside on the benches and had water and treats while Mum and Dad had drinks and stuff. People stopped and said hello, and stroked us. Some of them even liked Tara's hair. And there were lots of sniffs. Mum says that one lady started calling her Mrs Shih Tzu, and talked about her paws for AGES.
So I've decided that I like hotelling. And I want a garden like our hotel grounds please.
This is me looking beautiful. Mum says.
I had my pink bows in specially, in case I saw William. And look, here he is. I am playing it cool, and not asking him to chase me.
This is what Cato does when he thinks we are going back to the car and he wants a longer walk.
and this is the Rowan sprout that Mum has been piccing for you. She says that each of those little blobble things are going to be big fat orange red berries when the weather gets all cold again.
Pink stuff. There is a lot more pink stuff on this tree this year than last, says AuntieJane
We (Mum, Dad, me and Cato) are all going on an Adventure. We are going to stay in a hotel for two nights, and I am to BEHAVE and not bark at people outside our den door, and I mustn't poo on the carpet. Or widdle on it. And I am allowed to sleep on the bed, but only if I stay on our Pack blanket.
I am not sure I want to go.
There seem to be a lotlotlot of rules and stuff.
We all went for a pack walk, to the French Place so Mum could have a hot choc thing. But it was closed!
So we had to go for a proper sniffy walk instead. I like it when the French Place is closed.
Mum says you should see how brown the water is. That is cos of the rain, apparently.
I wanted to go on the beach, but Mum said no. Cos of The Rules, and us not beaching til it gets cold again.
My tail looks good, doesn't it?
It was a bit grey and Mum said it was raining out on the horizon.
And I saw a CAT!!!! It just sat there! I had Mum on the lead, so I couldn't just run off and teach it not to stare. It was very frustrating.
Mum said these were the first poppies she has seen this year. But then we went home and our poppy had popped. So they are everywhere now.
It wasn't a very long walk, but the CAT made it worthwhile.
Of course, it would have been more worthwhile if I could have chased it. It was so rude. It just stared. That is rude, isn't it, Aunties?
Haha! Hello Aunties!
We went to the sea, and it woz hot, and I bounced on Cato. Look!
Dad wozn't with us, so I had to show Cato how to mountaineer, like Dad shows me.
and we went all along this mountain range. Cato just followed me, so I woz the Trek Leader. Mum says.
She also said that if I went and bothered that family who were pickernickering (see the man in the red shirt, sitting with his family all eating interesting stuff) then she would die of embarrassment, and she would shave my tail.
That is soooo mean of Mum, isn't it? Anyway, I didn't want to go and 'bother' them. They didn't have any sausages, anyway.
We didn't go down there.
He does run slow.
and he splats really easily.
And then he cheats by attacking me from the side!
we both got a bit hot.
But we had a brill bounce! Mum says you can see how much I am enjoying myself in this pic. And I woz! Cato was bouncing back, and it was FUN.
This is me still hot. Mum said we had to walk for ages before we had a sit down. She said I shouldn't have bounced so early, but how woz I to know?
We sat here
and we had a big drink and some treats. But we didn't play truffle hound, cos it was too hot to run about.
Mum says that white thing in the distance is a Lighthouse. and the lump in the sea is a Fort. Yawn.
These are those horrible bug cocoon things.
and this is a very hairy bug.
I didn't eat it.
Cato was so floppy-puffed after I splatted him and we walked so far in the hotness, that Mum gave him a lift. She carried him a longlonglong way until her back hurt. And everyone thought he was a cute lickle puppy, and ignored me. So when Mum put him down, I splatted him again. It was fun!
just before we got back to the car, the sun went in, and it got all dark, and Mum took a pic of this.
It is a Snowy Egret, she says. Can you see it? At the edge of the pond.
It's a bit late for a birthday bath and trim....
Here they are smelling sweet and looking gorgeous ??
I used the #1 SS comb attachments for a closer cut on Lacey's body, but I don't like how her chest bone sticks out! ☹️
After these pictures were taken I touched up both their muzzles as I wasn't liking how they looked. Also made a few adjustments in a couple of places here and there.
I found a BONE. It is very very big. And it is all MINE.
Mum has been messing with bones up at the top of the kitchen. Something to do with drying them slowly so they don't go too stinky (Mum: using dehydrator and venison ribs) and today, when I was coming in from my mid morning Garden Patrol, I saw it.
In the middle of the kitchen floor.
It is ENORMOUS.
It was difficult to carry.
But I couldn't leave it there for Tara to find.
So I picked it up and half carried and half dragged it over to my bed, and settled down to eat it ALL!
Tara wants it. She keeps staring. But she can't have it. It is MINE.
There is another bone on the kitchen floor if she wants that. But it is littler and not nearly as good as MY bone. So she doesn't want it.
My bone is DELICIOUS.
Hi Aunties! We went to the Big Lake today, and went Tunneling. We haven't Tunnelled for AGES on account of the mud.
But today Mum followed us down there
This is us showing her the way
and this is the entrance
this is just inside. Mum says the white flowers by the path are called cow parsley.
This is the open bit half way down the tunnel
and the light in the distance is the way out.
Mum always falls behind when she starts fiddling with the camera. It takes ages. And then we have to wait for her to catch up.
the yellow flowers are dandelions and buttercups
these are mainly buttercups
and that is Hawthorne, wot had all the red berries before it got really cold last year.
We did lots of sniffing and running about. Even Tara finds the long grass a bit puffy, sometimes.
That's the lake and a REALLY interesting sniff!
Tara wanted to stop here for treats and a drink, but Mum said the bench was all wet, cos of the rain starting.
So she just took pics of the Memory Bench, which is new, and then we carried on in the rain.
This Weimaraner was HUGE and sniffed us both. He was also very skinny! He thought we were rabbits too, until he got close enough.
The rain was all spatty
and Mum says do you remember there was a tree with pink AND white flowers on it last year? Well this is it. Don't know if we have missed the flowers though, this year.
We got a bit wet.
This is more Hawthorne
and these are those wild irises we saw last year too. They were just starting to flower
It was hothothot so we only went round once, then Mum and AuntieJane had a good sit on a bench, and then we came home.
If you aren't interested in plant stuff, then this will be a really boring blog. Cos Mum and AuntieJane just wanted to pic flowers n stuff.
This is first proper sniff. Lots of paws come into the park by that path, so they like widdling here. It is always lovely and sniffy.
Elderflower sprouty stuff
new growth on the pine
new growth on the thingy (the yellow green).
Can you see the bird nest inside the Entmoot?
the tulips, just before they go all old and manky.
greenery all over the trees, and no pink left. And no people, either. The park was empty!
Tara really wanted to see William, but he didn't come. she was sad.
It was so hot we sat for ages.
Mum says we can have a nice short clip next time, and stay cooler. Except that she isn't the one that has to have the b*th and the horrid buzzy things all over her face and ears and knickers, is she? She wouldn't call it 'nice' if she did.
Mum says that The Roses Are Back, and growing, but she might sneak some rose food in, so they can have a good meal, cos they have a lot of weeds to compete with!
And the Fatty Plant, the Phormy Plant, and the weeds
The car was sooooo hot when we got back in.
Mum says we may have to start using the other car park, cos there is more shade there.
I would like that!
Before I sleep my birthday cake off. I have some news...
We are all super excited as Mummy has just told us she's booked a cottage that allows paws... and we are all going on holiday together...
I hope there's beaches that allow paws to go on them in the summer. We love to paddle in the sea.
Mum is sticking to her diet thing! What's one of those Aunties? She's weighing food out and logging it in my fitness pal. She bought herself a new Fitbit. Guess what Aunties--- mummy is shrinking, I'm sure it's not my eye sight ?
So we went round Bear Woods. I think Tara told you.
But I bet she didn't tell you about the fight, did she?
You see she had been bouncing on me for ages, on account of my tummy slowing me down, and me feeling a bit... um... flopsy.
But that day, I BOUNCED BACK!
See the look in my eye?
She isn't going to win this one by running away! haha!
This was Round 2
She tried to circle round, but I was ready!
Haha! Thats a Fu Dog move. She wasn't expecting it!
It was fun!
Look at her running away!
And then, all of a sudden, I ran out of bounce. Mum asked me if I needed a lift to the car, but I made it under my own paw power. Just.
And then I had a good long snooze.
So there was no blogging for AGES, on account of Cato being all wimpy in the tummy, and me and Dad going out walking by ourselves. I don't really like it when Cato doesn't come with us. It isn't the same. I keep looking round for him, and he isn't there. Dad didn't take any pics. And then it rained for days! That was REALLY boring.
But then one day Me and Mum and Dad and Cato all went for a Pack Walk in Bear Woods. Dad said things like 'It'll be all muddy soggy.' and 'If it is so muddy that they need a b*th, you are on your own!'. But none of us took any notice. I love my Dad, but he isn't really very... um... mountaineery, is he?
Anyway, it was fab. And it was a bit soggy in places, but we both stayed cleanish, and no B*th!! This bit is a dry bit. You can see me sniffing, looking for mud.
It woz all very green. My purple bow looked very good.
Look wot I found! Mountains!
See! This one has been burneded and is all sniffy and black.
and this path is really sniffy, and exciting. We met some people with a little boy who wanted to meet us. His Mum said he didn't like dogs, but he liked Cato. I stayed well back, but he let Cato kiss him. Mum said sorry, but the other Mum was very happy. She said that was the first time he had let a paw get near him, and the more kisses the better!
So, obviously I had to climb on them all, and Cato didn't even try!
and look! there is another mountain in the distance.
Cato says this is horsepoo. Not donkeypoo. Or ponypoo. Or anythingelsepoo.
I don't know how he knows, but it was very sniffy, and we didn't eat any. Honest.
Do you like my dried leaf fascinator? Mum said that it clashed with my bow, but Mum is just a spoilsport sometimes!
This is near the end when Cato was going all wimplyfloppy on account of his tum. So Dad said we needed a sit down and some refresherments.
I didn't mind, cos I could climb on the bench, and have a drink and some treats. Also, I could see some Pugs coming. I like pugs. I want a pug. but I like to be taller that they are.
They were OK, although I think Mum gave them one of my treats! But they didn't pee upside down, so that woz disappointing!
It's was our 3rd birthday on Friday. Mummy was at work for half day. Our brother was at school all day and Daddy's been working a lot lately.
We are having our party today because Daddy's been very busy at work. He has gone in this morning but we're waiting to undo our presents when he returns home.
Mummy took some photos of us this morning. She knows we won't sit still long enough when Daddy gets home.
Mmmmmm that cake looks yummy! Can we please have a little bit?
These bones around the side taste delicious.
Ok then, a bone each.
Hmmmmm Lacey, wait for Daddy before you help yourself...
More photos later of us opening our presents when Daddy home!
So I will tell you all about our second lake walk, in the sun and wind and the woods, and then I will tell you about my tummy. Cos that is far more important. And it is more important that Tara's silly running off and nearly getting lost and worrying G&G!
This is my Molehill Hunting Field.
This is me keeping an eye out for moles!
Can you see how my tummy is a bit, um, bloaty?
Then we did the Bluebell Wood walk, which was all sniffy and nice.
Mum kept taking pics of arty bits of tree and stuff, but it was OK cos it gave me time to sniff properly, for once.
Arty farty sun on fallen trees. ivy stems. yada yada.
trees pushing each other over. yawn.
It was actually a bit hot, and I wasn't feeling great, on account of my tum. So I asked for a lift. But Mum didn't realise my tum was hurty, so she said 'Not this time, matey!' and I had to catch up on my own four paws.
Tara says I have to point out how her green bow picks up the foliage theme.
But these molehills (in the woods! I didn't know moles lived in woods!) are much more interesting.
Bluebells. Again. You can have too many, you know.
And then we got to the lake. And it was sunny.
But that didn't stop the Mad Runner from puffing past.
Tara found some mountains. Mum didn't want her climbing, in case it wobbled and squished her, so we both got treats.
And then she found this bench, and jumped up and wanted a treat for that too!
I think she was looking for sandwiches here. There was a man in his little hut. But he wasn't fishing, cos the stick thing is against the tree. We think he was asleep!
And can you see that green branch? the one that is sinking?
It flew past us on the wind, and landed in the lake. Mum wishes she had a pic, cos it is hard to see how WINDY it was. Bits were flying past and leaves and sticks and stuff were all ripping off the trees.
see how bent over the bamboo is?
And all the green leafy bits that have been ripped off the trees?
I could have blown into the water!
and the waves too.
This is the way home. The path was hot like roadblackstuff, so I was really panty!
And now for my tummy:
See Tara was being a pest back at home, before we went to see G&G. She was bouncing about and sniffing poo and stuff. And she got a bit of a squitty tummy. So I think it is all her fault.
She had a squitty tum on the Sunday, and then we had the drive to G&G on the Monday, and she was still squitty. She was OK, but she got Mum up in the night. Although she was just as bouncy and annoying.
Then on Tuesday night she jumped off the bed and pooed on the carpet!!!!!
And Mum was nice about it.
And Grandma was nice about it.
And Then on Wednesday she had her PAwNapping Drama, and ran about and was fine.
And then Dad came to join us, and it was really wonderful, cos Dad was with us, and I sat on his lap all evening cos I had missed him lots!
But by then, my tum was a bit squitty too - cos Tara gave it to me.
So I was a bit floppy and uncomfortable on Thursday. But Grandma didn't mind, even when Tara didn't ask to go outside until it was too late.
And Mum and Dad were worried about 2 paws with squitty tums on the bedroom carpet! So they put down dustsheets, and set the alarms, and took us outside twice in the night. Which was a bit weird and meant I didn't get a good night's sleep!
Eventually, on Saturday, we came home, and stopped at lots and lots of places for poos. And that was OK, cos I felt better after I pooed. And Tara was better already.
But then once we were home... I got really bad. Mum says she thinks that my squitty tum set my colitis off again. Or Grandad may have given me something to eat wot I shouldn't. Or it was the stress of the journey, cos I don't like long car journeys. And I was awful. It hurt! And my bottom got sore. And it was all clear and runny, and then it went pink and red. And me and Mum just sat on the sofa, feeling miserable, and then I would run for the catflap and not make it in time. and then Mum would clear up. And then it would happen again. That was all Sunday.
And we all slept on the floor in the living room for 3 nights.
But then I felt All Better.
And I was a bit skinny, and Mum gave me nice Chicken and Pumpkin for AGES til my poos were orange. And then it was OK again.
Mum says she is going to look at natural antibiotics, and stuff, and there is a powder on my food now. But it tastes OK.
Finally! Mum has catcheded up enough blog for me to tell you about my Big Adventure! I woz AWESOME!!!
And there aren't any pics cos Mum and the camera were left at home.
So, first off, Mum and Grandma and Grandad had this big boring conversation, all about walks, and were there poo bags, and did G&G have water, and yawn stuff like that. I wozn't listening, cos Grandad had the leads in his hand and my ears switch off then.
Then it got really exciting, with leads and G&G and going out the door, and the gate and stuff, and it wozn't til we were outside and across the road, that I realised we had left Mum behind! She wozn't with us! For the longest time, I thought she woz going to catch up. Coz she does that sometimes. Or she is waiting for us. So I kept looking. And Cato woz with us, so that woz OK. And all he woz interested in were the sniffs.
I kept looking for Mum, but she was gone. And we were being dragged off. Well, I was. A bit. But I didn't struggle much, cos I am too clever and cunning for that!
We walked for ages along the road path thing. Then we crossed onto the green. Then we crossed the green and another road. Then we went along the lane and into the gate and along and along until we came to the field. The one that Cato likes cos of the mole hills.
Then Grandma PawNapper got some treats out, and we had some. They were OK for PawNappers. Actually they tasted just like OUR treats. So maybe they TreatNapped too! And they (G&G PawNapper) made a fuss of me and then they let me off the lead wot they had used to steal me away from Mum!!!
So I was clever and brave and a Ninja Pirate, and I danced out of their PawNapping reach!
I told Cato he should do the same, but all he wanted was another treat.
G&GPN tried to tricksy me closer, so they could grab me again, but No! I foiled their dastardly plan! And when GrandadPN tried to catch me to trap me, I decided that I wanted my Mum, and I wanted her NOW. So I set off for home.
I ran out of the field and along the path and through the gate and down the lane and across the road - the cars all stopped, but I was running too fast to notice - and then I ran all the way across the green. I was a bit puffed by then, so I stopped for a bit and watched GrandadPN running towards me calling me, with a treat in his hand. But I am lotsandlots too smart to be PawNapped like that EVER AGAIN. so I waited til he got nearly close enough to grab me, and then I was OFF! And I ranandranandran again.
I ran off the green and across the road, and a man in a car stopped and called to me! But he woz a PawNapper too - I can tell - so I just ran on down the road til I found GranandGrandad's house, and I could smell Mum on our car and our path, and I went and sat on the mat until GrandadPN catcheded me up and opened the door and I could find Mum.
Aren't I clever!!!!
And then there woz another yacky human conversation, with hand waving and fussing and I fell asleep cos I had run so far, and cos PawNapping is really exciting, and foiling PawNapping is heroic, and I needed a snooze.
