Emma

God! How I hate writing this entry.... It's been a week as of last night that you have gone missing and I can't believe you disappeared into mid air! You have always been my problem child but you were always loved, and you knew it. 15 yrs 4 months 11 days, and all but the 1st 8 weeks of your life... you were my Lil Em. Now you've left me guessing if you're someone else's Emma or if you have left us to join your sister, Baby, at the bridge. We've been through a lot together and I thank you f

Been a little quiet but still around...

I am happy to report that Dean has been healing just fine but what a very stressful few weeks this has been... It all started the Friday night before Dean's surgery. Accidents are just dumb, and boy did I have a doozy. I tripped late Friday night going into my bathroom and WHACK! went straight down. My jaw is still not right but I split my chin (which has healed) and I had a baseball (now its golf ball sized) lump on my right knee. Never mind that I couldn't cough or sneeze, due to the brui

Beware

Not my story but it's too good not to share!   Jesse Newton with Kelly McQueen Newton. August 9 at 7:23pm · Little Rock, AR ·   So, last week, something pretty tragic happened in our household. It's taken me until now to wrap my head around it and find the words to describe the horror. It started off simple enough - something that's probably happened to most of you. Sometime between midnight and 1:30am, our puppy Evie pooped on our rug in the livi

My Tzu Crew are all bonded....they are the terror pack!

Well I know they are, and they've learned that there's strength in numbers as well as an intimidating stature. On the 4th of July, we were at the next door neighbors party for a bit with the tzu crew. They were finally relaxed and not afraid of Teddy, the neighbors 70 or so lb Goldendoodle. Max used to pee himself whenever Teddy came into our yard and went after him to play so this was real progress until.... Decker was sleeping next to my chair belly up. Teddy decided to put his nose

My Little Man...Happy Birthday!

On May 7th, 2015....a wonderful litter of puppies were born. It would be many weeks before I knew which one was going to be mine but I knew one would be going home with me. I've already picked a name for him, after one of my favorite children's books. 'Where The Wild Things Are' call name Max. To my surprise and delight, Pam who bred these wonderful puppies loved the idea of a wild theme...so they became the 'Wild" bunch.    Max was know as Evan at that time, and this is his 3 day

3 days and counting.....

Well here it is 12:30 AM and since I can't sleep, just got home a short bit ago, thought I'd write a quick update. The play is coming together nicely. I do have my lines down but still get a little confused if I'm tired, such as tonight. I know I'll have it down by Friday for sure, Can't believe that in 71 hours, the first of 9 performances will be over. I'm really getting excited now which is great, I live on pure adrenaline when show time comes, which is probably why I crash so hard aft

Wow, didn't realize it's been that long....

There have been so many changes to my life since I've last posted, some I'd prefer to keep personal but they include everything from health, to job, to relationship status, to residence, you name it..... Lets just say after a number of years being unhappy, I finally found the courage to make some changes in my life and although it scares me some, I am better off for it. Never let anyone tell you that you can't.... too easy to prove them wrong.

One week till Christmas and..................

I am having a hard time getting into the shopping/holiday spirit. Don't get me wrong but I just can't get into the gift buying/decorating, hustle and bustle of it all. I want to be with people and celebrate and have a good time but I just can't get into the material aspect of the holiday season. Am I the only one who feels this way? I just think that since I have no small kids to buy/celebrate with, doing all this shopping/getting into debt is totally worthless and unnecessary to buy gifts f

Been a while.........

I have been so super busy that I haven't even had much on line time. There are a few new challenges happening in my life right now that I can't currently share but hoping to be able to work through it soon enough. Some are easier to deal with than others....... With all that is taking place I'm finding it extremely hard to find the holiday spirit. I look forward to meeting with people and having fun but the actual shopping and decorating is not with me this year. I think I'm just tired of

September Update

Sorry I have not updated in awhile. The fair that the town puts on is now behind me and I'm happy to say it's over. I was so tired after that 11 hour day, too much really. It is not a favorite event of mine and after working it a few years now, I can really say that I have learned to dislike fairs. I never attend any, I've lost interest in them. I received an e-mail about 2 weeks ago asking if I'd consider taking a small part in a play, which I agreed to do. It's going to take plac

Holder Posey Finale!

This was yet another awesome experience that I will never forget. I loved every part of it and would recommend community theater to anyone who ever thought of possibly getting involved in theater to try it. We are definitely a party group, I didn't get to bed till 6am yet again from Saturday's party, despite saying I wasn't going to stay out too late, to be followed by an "after the fact" party this coming Saturday. I'm getting a little tired but I'll be there. I received a CD of photos and

Play Update

I am sorry to say the play has been postponed till mid May. There were just too many obstacles to cope with and this was decided last night between cast and director. To say that this play has been a challenge for our poor Director is putting things mildly. Poor Diane has had her hands very full. There are several characters in this play and we are really a good cast, she really chose each of us carefully and we compliment each other well. She has not been able to cast one vital ro

Life Update, Aug 3rd

Well the store officially reopened last week and as expected, we have been swamped with people. I really am glad to see the warm reception we're getting from the customers, especially the regulars. They're so happy when they see a familiar face cause we have so many new girls working. We have been closed for a little over two months and our customers have really missed us. The only awkward things are, since we are new, we don't have anything on sale except for our promotions and not al

Camp Open Arms

Well today was time to host Camp Open Arms . Our local Lions Club spends about $1000+, for the one day event providing a full day of food and activities. We had about 150 this year and went through 12 large pizzas, over 300 hot dogs, who knows how many cases of juice/bottled water, ice pops, etc. Only downside today was the temps which stood in the upper 60's with a very strong wind. I am so happy I had this way oversized sweater in my trunk or I would have been miserably cold. Th

Life Update Cont'd

Well I went for the audition and found out the other night I didn't get the part. I am quite okay with it, really. I would have had a great time doing the role as it was a bank robbery/mystery comedy (yeah I know) which took place on an actual moving train. I would have had to leave on Tues evening, car pool for a 4 hour ride, stay overnight and perform 3 shows on Wed, come home and do this 2 weeks in a row. Where I would have loved the job it required rehearsing at the directors home. She

Another Life Update For Those Who Want To Know, Lol...

Well I guess I should update as it's been a while. Even though the Melodrama is finished, parties are still happening, we are a party group . I have a Cast party BBQ to attend Sunday late afternoon so the parties still continue. The rehearsals for the new play won't start till mid-July so that's still a little bit away. My trip to NYC to see my brothers has been put on hold as one is so busy, he won't even be around. He ended up signing a 6 week contract which will pay him quite wel

I Did It!

I got a part in the play!!!! I'm so excited I don't know what to do with myself! I will be in the play "The Philadelphia Story" , it was made into a movie in 1940. You can read more about it : http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0032904/ I will be playing the role of Liz Imbrie who is a photographer/reporter. Did I mention I'm excited yet! lol! :D

Audition

So I did go last night, not going to say very much though. We were told that we would hear within the next few days. They had me read for 2 different parts, and I was one of the last to leave, so I don't know, will have to wait and see I guess. :D

Planning On Visiting My Brothers

Since it's been 2 years now since I've seen them and almost 6 years since I've been home, I'm planning a long overdue trip to NYC. It'll be fun, just me and my brothers, getting into trouble just like old times. I'm thinking of going within the next 2 weeks. I'll keep you updated. :D

Another Play Update..............

Well there's only 2 more shows till we're done, Friday and Saturday night. It's always bittersweet as you're looking forward to the free time and not having to hear the same lines over and over. You've heard them so many times before, like being stuck in rewind/play for 2 months. At the same time you've spent so much time with the cast, 18 members plus crew, that you've become very close, it's kind of sad to think of not being all together. We usually go out to celebrate after a show and
