Building The Set

Today was a long & exhausting but fun day. We all met at the storage building at 10am to help load the truck with the items needed to build the set as well as furnishings like a desk, chairs, tables, etc. After the truck was loaded we all went to the Conservation League which is where our production is being held to build the set. It's amazing how an empty open room will be transformed into a theater complete with stage, lighting, curtain and all. Here are some shots I took with my camer

Been a while.........

I have been so super busy that I haven't even had much on line time. There are a few new challenges happening in my life right now that I can't currently share but hoping to be able to work through it soon enough. Some are easier to deal with than others....... With all that is taking place I'm finding it extremely hard to find the holiday spirit. Been a little quiet but still around...

I am happy to report that Dean has been healing just fine but what a very stressful few weeks this has been... It all started the Friday night before Dean's surgery. Accidents are just dumb, and boy did I have a doozy. I tripped late Friday night going into my bathroom and WHACK! went straight down. My jaw is still not right but I split my chin (which has healed) and I had a baseball (now its golf ball sized) lump on my right knee. Never mind that I couldn't cough or sneeze, due to the brui

So I did go last night, not going to say very much though. We were told that we would hear within the next few days. They had me read for 2 different parts, and I was one of the last to leave, so I don't know, will have to wait and see I guess. :D

Another Play Update..............

Well there's only 2 more shows till we're done, Friday and Saturday night. It's always bittersweet as you're looking forward to the free time and not having to hear the same lines over and over. You've heard them so many times before, like being stuck in rewind/play for 2 months. At the same time you've spent so much time with the cast, 18 members plus crew, that you've become very close, it's kind of sad to think of not being all together. Another Play Update

Well it's been a week of full rehearsals and we've been officially off book all week, meaning no reading the lines from the script . I am amazed how well everything is going, things are getting cleaned up and timing is going great. This is really a lot of fun and I'm glad I made up my mind to do this, it's a great group to work with. Nick, the director has now given us girls 4 or 5 songs to learn to sing and play , not gonna happen! I've got one almost down, if I can master a second, well

Another Life Update For Those Who Want To Know, Lol...

Well I guess I should update as it's been a while. Even though the Melodrama is finished, parties are still happening, we are a party group . I have a Cast party BBQ to attend Sunday late afternoon so the parties still continue. The rehearsals for the new play won't start till mid-July so that's still a little bit away. My trip to NYC to see my brothers has been put on hold as one is so busy, he won't even be around. He ended up signing a 6 week contract which will pay him quite wel

Another General Life Update..........

Well the play rehearsals are going well with the exception of the late evenings wearing a little thin on me. It can make for some very long days to say the least. I do have a meeting this Sunday evening which will be important. The store I work at will be closing on May 3rd for at least 2 months, we have to vacate by the 7th and we'll be reopening in a brand new store, early to mid July. Another Crazy Venture For Me

Well many of you who know me know that I am very community oriented and involved in a community service club. Back in the Fall we had a couple of people from our local theater group come to speak at one of our dinner meetings. A Random Act Of Kindness

I just have to blog about this, as it has often been said that there isn't enough of kindness and people don't take the time out to help or recognize one another. I went to dinner tonight to the local Chinese restaurant I have been going to for years and behind me was a Mother with her 7, yes I said 7, adopted disabled children. 3 days and counting.....

Well here it is 12:30 AM and since I can't sleep, just got home a short bit ago, thought I'd write a quick update. The play is coming together nicely. I do have my lines down but still get a little confused if I'm tired, such as tonight. I know I'll have it down by Friday for sure, Can't believe that in 71 hours, the first of 9 performances will be over. I'm really getting excited now which is great, I live on pure adrenaline when show time comes, which is probably why I crash so hard aft
