New Beginnings

Mum: Such a long time since Cato, Tara and I have blogged. I've been busy, and last year kind of went in a blur. I had a rather unfortunate stomach upset that left me under the weather for months, and then... things drifted. Then I heard about the shootings at the Garlic Festival, and immediately logged on here to see how Marlene was, and suddenly I am missing you all, and your news, terribly! We have some news at this end too. A new pup. Jasmine. This is the photo we wer

My back hurts :(

Cato: aunties, my back hurts. ? it was a bit hurty before, and my ankles were a bit wobbly, and Mum was thinking that I should go see Mrs Vet (once Tara’s bobble was gone). but then she got better after the op, and she Bounced on me.  A lot.  Mum tried to protect me, but she couldn’t stop all the Bouncing.  Tara does big running up and down and leaping.  And woowoowooo!  And mugging and stuff.  And my back hurts.  Mum says she is veryveryvery sorry.  MrsVet says my back is soresor

MONDAY 8th Feb: Brief scamper

Cato:  Mum said it was going to be horrible wet and we wouldn't get a walk today.  But then, when lunchtime came, it was OK.  So we all got in the car and drove to the Park with the Lake!  And just as we pulled into the car park, it started to rain.  So there was a big discussion.  We ALL decided that since we were here, it wasn't fair to go home without scooting once round the lake. So we did. But it was soooooo wet.   And windy.  That we found it difficult to walk back, with the wind

SATURDAY 6th May: Poor Dad

Tara:.  Oh Aunties! My poor Dad is ill!   I am so worried about him!  He was up and down all night making stinky bathrooms and now he is just lying in bed.  I have tried cheering him up with bouncing and licking and I have brought him toys, but he just wants to sleep. Mum says I mustn't bounce any more or I will have to go downstairs.  So I am trying.  See?   But it is HARD.  I am sure he just needs to play and bounce for a bit. mum says that it is the stuff he got for lunch

SATURDAY 30th Jan: Green poo

Sidney: Why do I have to go first?  Silly dogs should go first then clever cats after.  I like the shed roof improvements.  I spend time on there during sunny weather, surveying my territory.  They left the central heating on all night last night, by mistake.  It was lovely.  I shall organise some pictures for you, so that you can see my territory.  I wanted to use the word 'kingdom' instead of 'territory' but Mum refused to type it.  She says I need to get a sense of proportion.  Which is

Whitby and Heartbeat Village

Cato: Hello Aunties!   When we were on holiday we saw some tourist pirates from Whitby pier.  I didn't like being up so high, so Mum left me with Dad in the safe middle of the pier while she went and took dangerous pirate pics.  Dad said they weren't actually that dangerous if they couldn't even get the sails up, and had to use an engine.  Haha! Mum forgot to take pics of Whitby, on account of me and Tara and GrandMam and lots of crowds, and it being market day.  I was

TUESDAY 19th July: Monster patrol

Tara: Monster!  Monster!  I saw it!  I saw it first!!!  Monster!!!!   Cato: We just found a Monster!  It was very exciting.  The back door was open, cos of the hotness, and we went out for a patrol, and we saw it, flapping dangerously round the garden under the table!  So we barked and barked til Mum came to investigerate.  We would have got it, of course, only she came too quickly. It was a Monstrous plastic bag!!!  Flap! Flap! I have to keep going out and checking

Cato's Bridge

Tara: Hello Aunties!  My turn today.  I bet you are ready for ME now that Cato has bored you all with his hunting obsessification. I love Grandad!  not as much as Dad, of course, but I do love him.  He says 'Shut up, you little attention seeking brat' and then bends down and gives me a nice deep back rub.  And when I go 'woo woo wooooo' at him, he goes and finds me a toy to play with!  He doesn't brush me though.   Grandma does that.  and she snips seeds out of my knickers with skisser

Mixed Grill

Tara: So the next day we couldn't go for a long exciting fun scamper, on account of Cato's boring wimpy back needing a rest.  Booooorrrrrriiiiiinnnnnngggggg!!! But we did go for a Mixed Grill which woz nearly as exciting.  And there were chickens too!!! This was Mum's Mixed Grill. There was gammon and lamb steak and beef steak and lambs liver and sausages and black pudding and gammon and yucky tomato and mushrooms and peeez and an eggy.  Mum saved me a bit of everything

FRIDAY 16th December: Beach!

Cato: I have to blog again today, cos Tara is still fussing about the pink booster seat she isn't going to get.  Her latest worrit is asking Mum to get her a pink rolling suitcase, for some reason.  Girls, eh? This is when we were on the beach (after the Sausage Place).  We have had sausages four days this week.  Tara thinks that car hunting is boring, but it seems to mean lots of sausages, so I kind of don't mind. See how I am braced to meet her charge.  Haha! She

TUESDAY 29th Mar: Big Bed issues

Sorry - Photobucket seems to be playing up, like it did for @Summerangel yesterday.  Hopefully the links to the pics work, even though I don't seem to be able to embed them.   Mum:   Not unexpectedly, Little Miss Sunshine has decided that the Big Bed is far too convenient to pass up.  I had to put her down into the pen 3 x last night before she actually stayed there - she just ghosted up each time, waiting til I closed my eyes, then silently appearing.  Her little brain cells have obvi

Monday 24th October: HAPPY TWOOTH BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!

Tara: It's my Twooth Birthday!  I am Two.  That is both front paws, isn't it?  While Cato is all old and is nearly all four paws.  Front and Back.  That is OLD isn't it? My Dad had to go to work, so we did a nice walk without him, and it woz fun, but it wozn't my Special Birthday Walk.  Mum says we can do that in a few days.  I am going to get a Special Birthday PINK dinner too!  I am sooooo excited! Today we went to the beach and to the Centre of the Universe.  I like that place.

FRIDAY 18th Mar: Belated Mum's Day walk, as promised

Sidney: Good morning.  Just a gentle reminder that the window is still shut.  My bowl is empty.  And you are still in bed an hour later than usual. Tut tut.   Cato: Remember AGES AGO we had to give Mum some chocs and stuff and in return she was 'contracted' to take us for a walk?  Well, that was TODAY.  And it was GREAT!!! This is the board that tells you boring human stuff: Mum says I have to explain our route.  Hubbards Hills is a narrow valley wi

Mum's camera woes

Mum: Going to show you one of the reasons why the blogging has been missing lately. About a month ago my lovely Nikon Coolpix S33 camera died.  It had been losing battery charge very rapidly, and I had changed the rechargeable battery once, to no improvement.  Then it decided to not switch off, and just blink a light at me until the battery ran down.  It still charged, but then it just ran the battery flat immediately afterwards. So, new camera.  Which arrived and I instantly thou

SUNDAY 24rd Apr: Cold and wet and windy and flowery

Tara:  We went out to meet Auntie Jane to show her all my PINK, and she loved it!  She looked at me, and looked at Mum, and looked at me, and looked at Mum, then she said 'You know, you are a really BAD MUM to have deprived her of pink up until now.'  and Mum hung her head and said 'I know.' Hahahaha!  But I didn't have my piggytails in today.  We are saving that til they grow a bit, before I wear them in public. This is me with a stick that Cato wants to steal! and this is r

Before we went to Grandma and Grandpa's

Cato: I can't remember when this was.  But it was before we went away.  It is hard to remember that far ago!  I have to blog this bit, cos Tara can't remember it at all.   She is asleep.  She has been asleep since we got home.  She is snoring. Anyway, this is before we went away, when we did a beach walk with Mum and Dad. It was raining when we got there.  The red van is an ice cream van.  No one was buying icecream in the rain, so he had his windows shut and his radio on, and he

WEDNESDAY 13th Apr: Pigeon Hunt!!!

Tara: Foxy Park!  Yay!  With MUM AND Dad! Yay!  And sun!  And pigeons!  And fights!!! Lots of adventures today! This is the park when we arrived.  All huge and sniffy and sunny and gorgeous!  With no other dogs around wanting to sniff my bottom bits. And this is My Bench, only Dad just walked past!  No drink or treats! This is me bouncing on Cato: And this is Cato wimping out after.  He was all hot and bothered and panty.  And Mum told us bo

SATURDAY: Buck Beck and Golf

Tara: We had an early start today!  Mum let us up on the Big Bed REALLY EARLY! (Mum: 6.30am) and then we snuggled til late.  It was GREAT!!!. Then we all got up and widdled and stuff and went out for a walk.  IT started off really boring, and we thought it would be the same as yesterday  but then it got really interesting!  Too interesting for me to bounce on Cato much! This is me looking interested in Truffle Hound. I will let Cato tell you the rest, cos he likes tellin

Day out to Lichfield

Cato: My sling still hadn't arrived, so we went to this Lichfield place without it.  So I had to walk.  But Mum carried me for a bit and Dad did too, and we had some nice sit downs, and I met a little girl.  So it was OK. Lichfield is a town.  With a river and a bridge and another cathedral (yawn) and a muesum place to dictionaries, and a burger place and a cafe that had a sunny garden.  Dad had lots of sausages, and we didn't get ANY cos it was all gluteny, and Mum wouldn't let us!

FRIDAY 20th May: Pack lake walk

Tara: Aunties, something wrong is happening.  It all started when Mum went all Dog Calming Signal Whisperer on us. It was OK to start with.  I barely noticed.  But now she is stopping me from bouncing on Cato.  Even out on walks!  She only lets me bounce when he is ENJOYING it.  Wots the point of that?  It should be that I can bounce when I like.  Which is all the time.  Not fair! And now, he is getting all... um... confident.  It is weird.  I mean, look! Here I am, splatting him

My sister

Tara: Hallo Aunties! I just wanted to blog to tell you how posh I am. This is my sister Rita.  She is still winning stuff and being all clever and beautiful.  Although obviously not as clever and beautiful as me, cos she is still going to boring shows and having long hair and piggy tails and stuff.  I don't do that, so that makes me clevererer, doesn't it?  I think it would be very difficult to Bounce properly on Jasmine if I had long hair like her.  But I could win shows if I wan

Holiday: Saturday (coming home)

Tara:  This woz our last morning.  At dawn.  Mum got up specially early and saw the sky and had to take a pic.  I stayed on the bed and didn't see it, cos I woz on my back sleeping. And Mum says you want to see this.  These are ferns growing out of the wall in our back yard widdle area.  She sas you can see how old the wall is and how clever the ferns are.  Like ferns could ever be clever! ha! And then Mum and Dad did all the boring packing, and I checked that D

Wed 1st Feb: Bowless Foxy

Cato: We went to Foxy Park, and Tara had a tizz. This is how worried she was when she realised she had lost her bow.  AGAIN.  She is very careless with them, isn't she? Mum said she thinks you must be getting very bored of the same old pictures of the same old places.  I think you must be too, cos it isn't like you can sniff them, is it?  And the sniffing is the most important part.  Just looking is very boring.  Like being shut in a car with the window closed.  Which is awfu

SATURDAY 26th Mar: Big changes, better beds!

Tara:   i felt fine yesterday!  Don't know wot the fuss woz about.  But Cato was all sleepy and (Mum says I'm to use different words cos 'boring' is boring, but he WAS!) didn't want to play.  We went out for a quick walk, but then he went back to sleep again!  It isn't as much fun stomping on pythons and bears and stuff.  They don't fight back. Today was much better, although Mum has been upstairs a LOT. We went down lots of roads on our walk, and i had Dad on the lead, and Cato h
