TUESDAY 29th Mar: Big Bed issues

Sorry - Photobucket seems to be playing up, like it did for @Summerangel yesterday.  Hopefully the links to the pics work, even though I don't seem to be able to embed them.   Mum:   Not unexpectedly, Little Miss Sunshine has decided that the Big Bed is far too convenient to pass up.  I had to put her down into the pen 3 x last night before she actually stayed there - she just ghosted up each time, waiting til I closed my eyes, then silently appearing.  Her little brain cells have obvi

MONDAY 28 Mar: No Walk Day :(

Tara:   It is raining really hard!  And blowing!  And I didn't like going outside for my wee this morning.  My knickers got damp and I RAN back inside.  If I wan't such a Good Girl, I would pee on the mat just inside the cat flap.  But I am good.  So I won't.  Unless it gets colder and wetter and horribler.  So no walk today.   But on no walk days Mum usually gets down on the floor and wrestles with us for ages, and I can always beat Cato up, to relieve the BOREDOM!!!   Cato:  Mum

SUNDAY 27th Mar: Easter Bunny hops

Tara: Aunty Jane and Mum were telling us about The Easter Bunny.  So we looked and looked and looked on our walk in Foxy Park today.  But we didn't find him.  And we didn't find his eggs, either.  So I practiced my Bunny Hops and Bench Hops and Spring Bulb Trampling as much as I could, just in case we see him later and he wants to play.  Practice makes perfect, Mum says. Oh, and I LIKE the new bed!  I get a bedroom all to myself, and there were toys and chews and everything all r

SATURDAY 26th Mar: Big changes, better beds!

Tara:   i felt fine yesterday!  Don't know wot the fuss woz about.  But Cato was all sleepy and (Mum says I'm to use different words cos 'boring' is boring, but he WAS!) didn't want to play.  We went out for a quick walk, but then he went back to sleep again!  It isn't as much fun stomping on pythons and bears and stuff.  They don't fight back. Today was much better, although Mum has been upstairs a LOT. We went down lots of roads on our walk, and i had Dad on the lead, and Cato h

THURSDAY 24th Mar: Skipping to Dogsitter

Mum: Since this is their second vist, both Dad and I were very interested to see whether they wanted to go, or not. I start work at 7.30am usually (homeworking on computer) so Dad dragged himself up to get them there first thing.  They took wee packed breakfasts and their leads.  She still had their treats from last time. Apparently, he parked outside the house, put the leads on, and got them out of the car.  At which point they dragged him to the house, up the driveway, and sat o

WEDNESDAY 23rd Mar: Bye bye beach

Cato: Mum said we HAD to go and say goodbye to the beach today, cos on Friday it belongs to holiday makers and dogs are not allowed. We can still go on the other beaches, and on the salt marshes, but not to the nice beach with the pier. So we walked all the way and then had a sad goodbye breakfast.  The sausage didn't taste sad, but it was sad when it was over.  See how my bits are smaller than Tara's bits?  Not Fair!!! Mum says she will have a word with Aunty Jane abou

TUESDAY 22nd Mar: No camera day!

Tara: Mum forgot her camera on our walk today! Hahahahaha!  Bad Mum!  We had a fab time, but you can't see any of it, cos she FORGOT.  So you can't see Bailey the Big White Bouncy Boxer that I had to hide from on a bench.  Or the swans.  Or Bertie the JackRussell/Chihuahua/Pug who played with us.  And I played with HIM.  And you can't see how dirty Cato got cos I bounced on him in some really soggy muddy grass.  Mum was not happy.  Hahahahaha!   Cato: So Mum says that if

MONDAY 21st Mar: Foxy park daffys

Cato:   Foxy park today!  Mum keeps taking us there hoping for this big cherry blossom thing, but really, it ain't that special.  And it is too high to reach to sniff! it was nice and sunny though.  And the daffys are out.  We always sniff them, cos they smell interesting. see how i am trampling the yellow bit?  Brings out the sniffiness. Mum also took photos of little purple things.  But the most interesting bit was the Foxy Hole.  Mr Foxy is definitely liv

SUNDAY 20th Mar: RIP Sidney

Very sad to have to announce that Sidney died this morning - massive seizure or stroke or something.  He was 11ish years old. Dad left at 5.30 am for work.  The mutts and I slept in.  Usually Sidney dozes on the bed with me until i get up (see Friday's blog photo).  But today there was no sign, so I assumed Dad had opened the window and he was On Patrol. When i got up i found him lying on the floor, in a very relaxed posture on Dad's side of the bed.  Thought he was dead, but eventuall

FRIDAY 18th Mar: Belated Mum's Day walk, as promised

Sidney: Good morning.  Just a gentle reminder that the window is still shut.  My bowl is empty.  And you are still in bed an hour later than usual. Tut tut.   Cato: Remember AGES AGO we had to give Mum some chocs and stuff and in return she was 'contracted' to take us for a walk?  Well, that was TODAY.  And it was GREAT!!! This is the board that tells you boring human stuff: Mum says I have to explain our route.  Hubbards Hills is a narrow valley wi

THURSDAY 17th Mar: Awesome spring lake

Tara: Sidney has fleas again!  Sidney has fleas!  And I don't.  And Cato doesn't!  So Sidney has been treated, and Mum says we may escape, but if we do get fleas it will ALL be Sidney's fault!  Hahahahaha!!!   Cato: Mum finished work early today, so we got a really good walk!  And a picnic in the car.  It was ACE.  She took lots of boring pics of plants and stuff, and very few of us, so you might get a bit bored.  But she gets all waggy tailed when the weather is nice and the

WEDNESDAY 16th Mar: Sniffs and tunnels and scratches!

Cato: Foxy Park walk today!  Yay!  Cold and a bit windy but some sun too.  Dad could come with us, but kept talking about being starving so afterwards we had to drive through KFC and pick up some gorgeous sniffy chicken and stuff.  Then we came home and watched him eat.  I got a tiny bit.  Tara got a bigger bit.  And Mum got none.  Greenery and kwish stuff, she had.  Poor us! The walk was good though.  Mum wandered round saying 'there is nothing left to photograph!' so we found her the

TUESDAY 16th Mar: The Thot Plickens

MUM:   Official Apology, on this Day 15th March this Year of Our Lord Two Thousand and Sixteen, by Mum and Dad and Cato, and OK Tara too, (athough she isn't really interested) for False Accusations and False Judgements Regarding the CatPee DogBed Polluting Incident to Sidney Cat (Ruler of All He Surveys), of this Residence. The Apology retracts ALL implied or stated criticisms meted out to said Feline, which are hereby unreservedly withdrawn, with no lingering doubts or

MONDAY 14th Mar: HELP!!! Emergency!!! Help!!!

Oh Aunties!  Help!   I need your help! We went up to bed last night as usual, and Dad put us in our pen.  And Mum went to do her stinky balthroom stuff  *! - Mum interjects here to point out that 'stinky bathroom stuff' actually means toothpaste, shower gel and body lotion, not the not-so-pleasant bathroom stinky stuff you may have been thinking - !* Then when she came in the bedroom, she said 'wot is that smell?' and Dad didn't know - but I did!  I was stuck in the smell!  It was all

SUNDAY 13th Mar: Faith restored

Cato: Great walk today!!!  Mum took us back to the beach, which Tara didn't want.  She was all whiney and clingy.  But Mum said we had to get back on the bicycle - wotever that means! So we picked up Auntie Jane and went for breakfast.  Another biscuitless cafe, but Mum saved us a sausage, and cut it into pieces.  I think Tara gets bigger pieces than me.  Not sure that is fair. Auntie Jane said how weird Tara was behaving.  All nervous and squeaky, and Mum told her about Brutus an

SATURDAY 12Th Mar: Biscuitless cafe and beach

Sidney:  I stayed home today.  I think my paw is getting worse.    Mum says it is my fault, and I am not to go out so much.  But that makes no sense.  It can't be MY fault.  That is an absurd idea.  I used my tray this morning, cos I didn't want to go all the way out over the roof and the wall for a widdle.   Cato:  Mum didn't have to work today!  So we got a lie in, and even better, I had a totally peaceful lie in cos they got Tara up and let her bounce on the bed, leaving me to snooz

FRIDAY 11th Mar: Sniffy soggy Spring

Cato: We had to go early for our walk today, so Dad could come with us before he had to go to work.  And we all got in the car and set off.  But then we sat for ages in a car queue which was very boring.  In the end Mum said 'Right!  Change of plan!  we won't go to the Lake Park today.' and she turned the car around. So that meant it was a surprise Foxy walk today. Mum and Dad said the grass was too soggy for huge human feet, but it was OK for proper Shih Tzu feet.  Although we ma

THURSDAY10th Mar: Mystery Solved

Cato: Dad's shift started a bit later today, so he came out for a walk and some sausage with us, then went straight off to his Work Thing.  It was fun. See how quiet the cafe is?  No one to say how cute we are and stop to stroke us.  But it meant that the sausages came very quickly, although we had to wait until were were outside before we got ours! The beach was HUGE today.  There was no edge to it, and the sky came all the way down to it, and the world just fell off the ed

WEDNESDAY 9th Mar: Downpour

Sidney: Firstly I would like make sure people realise that the alley belongs to me.  Not the dogs.  We live on the left of the alley, and the woman who leaves food down for the fox lives over to the right and round the corner.  So I have to jump down those walls and scale the other side - all with a War Wound.  AND I have to make sure that there aren't any upstarts and tresspassers.  It isn't easy you know.  Mum will post the picture again here, just to make sure you realise how danger

TUESDAY 8th Mar: Sniffy Heaven

Cato: After last time, Mum decided we were going to do a street walk today.  Without Dad who has to go to work during our walks for days and days.  Mum says we will miss him, but will just have to manage. It was a nice walk.  Lots of sniffs, and no horrible forky lead.  Don't remind her, but I think she forgot!  Hehehe.  Of course it meant I could widdle in peace, and Tara wasn't pulling me over when I stood on 3 legs.  Actually, Tara was almost OK today.  Think that maybe she is feeli

MONDAY 7th Mar: Not a fun walk. AGAIN

Mum: Not happy.  Quite cross, in fact. Yesterday we had Blunderer Max, and poor Tara had a hard time.  She may be 110% bounce, but is rather intimidated by anything her size or bigger, and does a submissive roll to nearly every dog she meets.  Tara kept me between her and him for the entire walk, and was particularly nervy.  I really don't ever want to have a social walk with MAx or his owner ever again. Anyway, today we went to the Squirrel Park in my lunchbreak.  Nice and peacef

SUNDAY 6th Mar: Mum's Day

Mum: just to explain - today is Mother's Day in the UK.   Sidney: Mum usually does stuff on Sundays, so she gets up nice and early, puts down food and opens window.  Very satisfactory. Until today. This is at around 7 am This is around half an hour later. unfortunately, the Runt and the Brat are too stupid to realise how annoyed i am. there was some nonsense with a card and some chocolates.  I ignored it all for as long as i could, but had to l

SATURDAY 5th Mar: Two walk day!!! Yippee!!!

Sidney: I shall start today, because Mum specially took some pictures to show you how beautiful I am.  I permitted it, because I do not think that dogs should take centre stage in anything, even a blog. So this is me, first thing this morning.  I am not sleepy.  I am blinking slowly and lovingly at Mum, because I want her to open the window.  She slept in til 9 this morning.  I had been very patient.  The big green lump is Dad.  Very useful as a pillow and foot rest. FRIDAY 4th Mar: Snow and snoozing

Tara: No walk!  No pics!  No leaping!  And Mum and Dad shut us in our crates and went out for lunch! Have spent all afternoon on Mum's lap.  She says i am better than a hot water bottle! Gonna bounce all evening, cos i just CAN'T sleep any more!   Cato: Nice and peaceful, but we've just had pork steak for tea, and Tara is ready to pounce!  It will be like this, ALL evening! Hehehe! I've got some new moves planned! Hehe!   Sidney: Pork.  No b

THURSDAY 3rd Mar: Sunny and short

Cato: It was sunny!  Feels like we haven't seen any sun for days.  So we rested all morning, then went out with Mum and Dad for a walk at the big lake.  Mum put her foot down (in a puddle) and said we couldn't go Off Path, cos of all the recent rain.  Humans are wimps, aren't they?  So we only walked round the lake, but it was still a good sniff. There was so much rain that all the mud has slipped into the water and made it brown.  See? Remember all those seagulls that we ch
