WEDNESDAY 2nd Mar: Squishy and squelchy

Tara: We nearly didn't get a walk today!  It rained all morning, then cleared up, so we rushed out to the car and went to the Fox park - but as Mum and Dad were helping us out of the car (I can jump out myself, but I am not allowed ) it started to sleet!  I don't see sleet often, so it was exciting. Cato dashed off for a poo, otherwise Mum and Dad might have decided to go home WITHOUT A WALK!!! which would have been TERRIBLE!!! This is where Cato decided to poo.  And Dad pic

EXTRA: Easter photo shoot

Mum: So this month's photo vote is for Anything Easter. And all my stuff seems to involve mud at this time of year... so why fight it? lol   Tara: Don't see why we have to do this.  I already trampled on daffs during our walk. Nope.  don't wanna. Oh.  alright then.  Maybe I will sniff it.  Ewww!  It tickles!!!   Cato: Remind me why we are doing this again, Mum?   Mum: Treats all round!  (including

TUESDAY 1st Mar: Rain and repairs

Mum: Just one photo today.  It is self explanatory. What you may not be able to see is that it is pouring with rain.  Most of the day. can you SEE how desperate Tara is, to get up that ladder? I didn't walk them today, because of work/internet/hassle/issues that I had to work on.  So Dad took them down to the beach (on foot) in a brief dry spell, and treated himself to a cuppa in the nice beach cafe. They came home WILDLY excited, and full of stories and thrills an

MONDAY 29th Feb: Leaping About Day

Cato: Mum says Leaping Day only comes round every 4 years.  So Tara has been doing her best to fit 4 years of Leaping into one.  We got up earlier than usual, because of Mum's work thing, but managed to get straight back to bed after a pee and a drink.  Dad went out for breakfast, and brought Mum a coffee to make up for her having to stay home and work.   We didn't mind cos it meant we weren't stuck in our pens! Then by midday we was both properly awake, and Tara had he

SUNDAY 28th Feb: Aunty Jane Day!

Cato: down to cafe for breakfast sausage, only it was very windy and cold.  It was warm at the house, and cold at the cafe.  We woz both shivering, even tho Mum got our bed out of the car for us.  Mum says we should have our coats kept in the car for next time, just in case. remember that pic of our car with the netting put up by dad? well this is the netting put up by Mum.  Much safer.  Tara hasn't wriggled through since! not many pics today cos Mum and Aunty Jane were

SATURDAY 27th Feb: Visiting and town park

Sidney: They were very annoying last night.  They shut my window earlier than I wanted, and they put a donut bed on the big bed.  Mum says that it is so I dirty the donut not her sheets.  How insulting is that?  As if I wasn't spotless.  Anyway, they put the donut between their pillows.  So it is in an acceptable position.  But I still wandered about and stood on Dad's sensitive bits in the middle of the night.  Well, I have to, don't I? They also came to bed later than I wanted.  You

FRIDAY 26th Feb: Home Again

Cato: Very tired today, and got a bit worried seeing all the packing up this morning.  But we slept in the car, and when we woke up, we were home! Checked everything out, had a widdle and a calcium bone, and then went straight back to sleep.  Only problem is that Mum has wasted ages on the computer, instead of providing lap services in the front room.  Hope it doesn't mean we will miss out on brushing, later!  Mum says we get a day off walks and photos today, cos of our mara- mara

THURSDAY 25th Feb: Bestest walk EVER!!!

Tara: looks like its just ME blogging tonight, cos Cato is fast asleep.  He is so worn out he has been snoring since we got home, and he didn't even want his tea!  Anyway, i am so good at blogging, i will do it all, and you will like my walk as much as me, cos it was the best ever ever ever. we had turkey mince and egg for breakfast, and then set off.  No car.  Just out of gate and off down track, going to this huge great Stoodley Pike place up the hill.  Mum has pics. it was cold

WEDNESDAY 24th Feb: Holidays are exhausting!

Mum:    Lots of photos today.  Skip 'em if they bore you!    Cato:     Soooooo tired!  We had 3 long walks today.  Three! first one was in Hebden Bridge.  Mum said we was gonna have lovely doggy cakes and beer in a lovely cafe.  But there was flooding a few weeks ago, and our cafe was closed while being un-flooded. so we had a breakfast sausage sitting in the freezing cold (ice on puddles!) outside a not-doggy cafe.  Not very nice.  But then we had a walk along the canal,

TUESDAY 23rd Feb: Holiday Adventure

Sidney: off to prison  have my bed, my carrier, my catnip mouse, and i haven't had ANY breakfast.  But i had a good sleep last night.  I pushed Mum closer and closer to the edge, all night, til she woke up almost falling out.  Bet she misses that tonight!    Cato:   Long car journey.  We stopped once for widdling.  Lots and lots of strange dog sniffs and the grass was shoulder high, so lots of bouncing.  We also stopped in a car park and Dad went food shopping and Mum stayed with us.

MONDAY 22nd Feb: Spring ping pong

Sidney: 8am:   10am:   Nuff said!   Cato: So Mum took us back to the Fox Park specially to check on the cherry blossom, and there was hardly any!  The daffs are nearly out, and a few other sprootles were sprootling, but nothing exciting. Mum says that the cold winds last week have set everything back, but at least the buds weren't blasted by the frosts.  Me and Dad don't know what that means, but she was chuntering about it. We are ge

SUNDAY 21st Feb: Sand dunes

Sidney:    The shed roof is peeling worse and worse.  Of course, i always said it would be a complete disaster.  So reassuring to be always right, isn't it?   Once i am trapped in prison, I won't be able to monitor the deterioration, will I? 2 days before they abandon me.   Cato:       We went to the Sand Dune beach today.  Haven't been there in ages. we walk along the dune path, then turn round and walk back along the beach.  But we only go in good weather.  Mum took u

SATURDAY 20th Feb: Tracking

Mum: Missy's Big Cat Hunt was sooo exciting and inspiring , that we chose the beach today and set out to improve our hunting and tracking skills. We started with a big breakfast in our favourite beach cafe, with sausages all round - to build our strength for the coming trek.  This is when they were watching Dad place the order. This is when I (Mum) looked out of the window at the pier and the beach.  A very grey day today.  Tide out.  Overcast sky.  No wind.

FRIDAY 19th Feb: Delicious liver treats!

Cato:  Mum went out early, so we waited a bit then went out looking for her.  We found her in the place that has stinky coffee, where we sit under the table, and they bring drinks outside to us. No pictures, cos Mum forgot her phone!  She was whining about it to Dad for ages. on the way home Mum raided the bank to pay for our spa day, and Dad raided the butchers for their looooovvvvvveeeeeelllllleeeeeeeee sausages.   Tara: Went to visit Arnty Lesley for Liver Treats

THURSDAY 18th Feb: Beach at half term

Tara: Whheeeeee!!!! After being boooorrrrreeeeeeeddddddd all day yesterday, we had a lovely beach walk today. See my sandy beard? and the deep and mysterious hole wot someone else dug but I am investigating? Did you see all the millions and millions and millions of people over Dad's shoulder?  It is because all the children are off school and trespassing on our beach So we have to behave. And fight! -  which got the sand off my moustache very nicely

WEDNESDAY 17th Feb: No walk :(

Sidney: My window was opened for half the morning then closed when it started to rain.  So I couldn't smell the rain. Then it was opened for half the evening, after the rain had stopped. That was bearable. And we had a nice ear rub, purr and cuddle in the big bed last evening, and I got the middle spot, as always. However, I noticed that they were looking at holiday cottages on the computer last night.  And train schedules.    Tara: No Walk!  It was too we

TUESDAY 16th Feb: Pack walk (with Dad)

Cato: So when Dad has to do his Work Stuff, he goes out for ages, and sometimes he comes and goes in the middle of the night. It is always very exciting when he walks in, and we bounce and bounce and bounce! The last few days he has been getting up in the middle of the night, and missing our walks, so yesterday was GREAT.  He woke up with us, and walked with us AND went to bed with us.  I even went and spent  the evening with him yesterday evening, because I love him, and I can lie in

MONDAY 15th Feb: Stormy

Tara: Amazing walk today!  Wet and wild and bouncy.  We went twice round the big lake and I saw sleet and stuff.  It was very exciting.  The photos won't show nearly how exciting it was.  And we got SOAKED to the skin and it was FUN.  And there was mud and EVERYTHING.   Cato: It started out lovely and sunny, although there was a really cold wind.  And neither of us had fancied much breakfast. But half way round, the cloud came in, and Mum and Dad were scuttling as

SUNDAY 14th Feb: Auntie Jane Day!

Sidney:    2nd day of window open all day.  And now my foot hurts.  Pork for dinner.  And Mum says I have to stay in today to 'rest' it.  I live in a Nanny State.  But I left a pork chop bone on the top stair this morning.  I was watching through the bannisters.   She nearly trod on it in her bare feet.    Another Machiavellian plan foiled by human luck.  Humph.   Tara:     Proper walk today!  With lovely Auntee Jane. This is us waiting in the car for her to appear! I a

SATURDAY 13th Feb: Street Slog and a bit of beach

Sidney: Window open ALL day, from before breakfast til human bedtime.  My kingdom awaits. Later, humans.   Cato: I think our blog is being ruined by human building stuff.  Apparently we had to walk on the streets so much because of Tara and the forked lead, and for photos of houses on the slippy leaf road.  Not that there are slippy leaves any more.  They have all mushed away all winter.  So, lots of photos. Mum has tried to make up for it with a video of Tara beati

FRIDAY 12th Feb: Cherry blossom

Cato: Very exciting day!  We went to the Small Park (with the green fox's bum) and Mum did her usual boring picture stuff.  And Tara did her usual silly bench climbing.  And we met Auntie Carol!  She is the Auntie who runs the puppy classes that both Tara and I went to when we were really really little.  And I got really excited to see her, and ran around play-bowing and wagging my butt off.  She picked me up and snuggled me, and remembered me too!  No picture of her though, because of some

THURSDAY 11th Feb: Restless

Mum: Thought I would go first today.  So there, Tara!  Just trying to get my story in first, before they publicise their 'take' on the day.  I have noticed how they just seem to ignore facts in favour of dramatic flair, sometimes. OK, so firstly, it was all a genuine mistake.  I planned a nice walk, and then Auntie Jane called and we arranged to pop over in the evening, to see her and Uncle N.  All good so far.  Only then I thought 'well, if I wear them out with a walk, they won't be m

WEDNESDAY 10th Feb: Road trek and 1st sand castle of the year

Tara: Me first again today!  Hahaha!  Cato is still asleep, cos he was naughty yesterday.  He didn't widdle at bedtime.  Mum was dancing about the garden crunching gravel and saying 'Hurry up! Hurry up! Hurry up!' but he didn't wee.   Then when Dad got up for work at 3.30 am, Cato heard him and woke Mum. and had to be carried downstairs to wee, and back up again. Why does she always say Hurry up 3 times?  Weird eh? Anyway, now he is being a lazy slug and wanting a lie in, and he d

TUESDAY 9th Feb: Fight! and Cemetery

Tara: Twice round the dog field today!  And through the cemetery.  And down the slippy leaf road! And we had that horrible forked lead thing on, which EVERYBODY hates, but Mum says is good to teach me manners.  Don't know what manners are, but I HATE them.  Lots of pics of me having fun, and Cato getting squished.  So it is all good. And Mum says that since I chewed the last wooden brush handle, I am not allowed another.  Not fair!  I only chewed it cos I LOVE it so much, and it w

MONDAY 8th Feb: Brief scamper

Cato:  Mum said it was going to be horrible wet and we wouldn't get a walk today.  But then, when lunchtime came, it was OK.  So we all got in the car and drove to the Park with the Lake!  And just as we pulled into the car park, it started to rain.  So there was a big discussion.  We ALL decided that since we were here, it wasn't fair to go home without scooting once round the lake. So we did. But it was soooooo wet.   And windy.  That we found it difficult to walk back, with the wind
