Aunties HELP!!!

Mum has tied me to her desk! I am a prisoner! She is MEAN!!! I woz garding the garden from monsters and cats and attack butterflies.  And I woz bored!!!  So I barked.  And barked.  And barked.   And barked! Cos monsters and cats and attack butterflies all need barking at, don't they? Then Mum comes out with the old lead, and ropes me up.  I've only got 6 feet of rope, 2 beds, a bowl of water and a pigs ear.  IT IS TERRIBLE!!! And I can't see wot is going on in

Cato's Bridge

Tara: Hello Aunties!  My turn today.  I bet you are ready for ME now that Cato has bored you all with his hunting obsessification. I love Grandad!  not as much as Dad, of course, but I do love him.  He says 'Shut up, you little attention seeking brat' and then bends down and gives me a nice deep back rub.  And when I go 'woo woo wooooo' at him, he goes and finds me a toy to play with!  He doesn't brush me though.   Grandma does that.  and she snips seeds out of my knickers with skisser

Mum's camera woes

Mum: Going to show you one of the reasons why the blogging has been missing lately. About a month ago my lovely Nikon Coolpix S33 camera died.  It had been losing battery charge very rapidly, and I had changed the rechargeable battery once, to no improvement.  Then it decided to not switch off, and just blink a light at me until the battery ran down.  It still charged, but then it just ran the battery flat immediately afterwards. So, new camera.  Which arrived and I instantly thou

I’m perfick!

Tara: I just got back from a trip to Mrs Vet. it was ACE!!! I took Dad there.  For my nasty prickle jab wot i have to have every year.  I don’t like that bit. But I had to sit in the waiting room for agesandagesandages and i got masses of fuss and attention.  One nice lady said i had ‘rad piggies!’ (They are purple and pink stripey ones today).  And then we went in to see Mrs V and she woz nice too.  She says i have excellenty toofies for my age, all clean and white and shine

How much trouble can two dogs and one cat get into...?

The first few entries are transferred from another thread, when Crystal suggested that C, T and S deserved their own blog. Great suggestion!  I just hope it doesn't go to their heads too much... Anyway because the posts were transferred across, they are slightly out of order, but not to worry - the wee beasties haven't noticed!

SATURDAY 12Th Mar: Biscuitless cafe and beach

Sidney:  I stayed home today.  I think my paw is getting worse.    Mum says it is my fault, and I am not to go out so much.  But that makes no sense.  It can't be MY fault.  That is an absurd idea.  I used my tray this morning, cos I didn't want to go all the way out over the roof and the wall for a widdle.   Cato:  Mum didn't have to work today!  So we got a lie in, and even better, I had a totally peaceful lie in cos they got Tara up and let her bounce on the bed, leaving me to snooz

THURSDAY 24th Mar: Skipping to Dogsitter

Mum: Since this is their second vist, both Dad and I were very interested to see whether they wanted to go, or not. I start work at 7.30am usually (homeworking on computer) so Dad dragged himself up to get them there first thing.  They took wee packed breakfasts and their leads.  She still had their treats from last time. Apparently, he parked outside the house, put the leads on, and got them out of the car.  At which point they dragged him to the house, up the driveway, and sat o

SUNDAY 3rd Apr: Sunday sunshine and flowers

Cato: Auntie Jane for breakfast in the sausage cafe!  Yay!  Then stinky bum fox park.  They spent AGES talking about work stuff.  Yawn.  Thought the walk was NEVER going to happen.  But we got there in the end, and the sun had come out. The bicycle man was there, in his flourourourorescent jacket, cycling round and round and nearly wobbling over onto us every time.  And Fat Bruno was there.  Except he has been on a diet and is now nearly Slim Bruno.  Tara lay down for him. More ca

SATURDAY 30th Apr: Bluebells, primroses, dandelions and tulips

Cato:  Mum and Dad put us in our crates for breakfast, and went out to eat. But as soon as they came home, on with the leads and a nice walk!  Started with a trek to the butchers, where we waited outside with Mum.  and Tara was a pest.  Then we cut through the little Churchyard Mum says these are bluebells just starting and the fatty bushes did well through the winter.  yawn. Then here is one of your palms @AuntAngel and some roses along the wall.  Mum sniffs t

Walks with Grandad

Cato: Today we are going to show you the Around Grandma and Grandad Walks.  It was great!  G&G live in a village (Mum says) and villages have more fields and stuff than where Mum and Dad live.  So instead of town sniffs, there are more countryside sniffs.  And more Hunting sniffs. These are some Shetland ponies that live near G&G.  Mum says that Shetlands are like Tzus.  Small yet perfectly formed.  I wanted to meet them, but they were on the other side of a very deep ditch.  E

SUNDAY 12th June: Mum's home!!!

Cato: We woz miserable without her.  We tried not to be, and we do love Dad, but it isn't the same, is it?  And we didn't know if she was OK.  It is safer in the pack, isn't it?  So yesterday, when Dad tried to take us for a walk, I didn't want to go.  And I sat down on my bottom lots and lots, and he carried me a bit, until we turned for home, and then I pulledandpulledandpulled cos I wanted to get home to see if Mum was there waiting.  And when she wasn't I had to run around and check eve

TUESDAY 21st June: :( no walk days :(

Cato: oh Aunties! it rained and rained and rained yesterday.  Mum says it was like stair rods wotever they are.  So we didn't walk. and then today it woz hot hot hot, and Mum says it won't be cool til it gets dark.  So we aren't walking again. I am very good at sleeping, but even I am getting bored with it.  And Tara is unbearable.  The next time she wants to chew on my ear I may get a bit cross.  She is lying on her back on the living room floor, and I am lying on the sofa n

SUNDAY 26th June: We're home!!!

Cato: Hello Aunties!  We are home!  It was great (except the horrible car which went on for ever and ever and I hated). This is Our Grandad Garden.  Isn't it lovely? There were jackdaws and rabbits and even foxy sniffs through the hedge.  And birds and bird feeders and fallen bird food and a birdbath to drink out of. Mum took lots of flower pics.  But I don't mind telling you about them, cos you can just imagine how fab it was, if the flowers were good, imagine the

SATURDAY 16th July: Brunch walk

Tara: Hahaha! Cato has gone for a snooze after all that blogging about our other walks, so now I get to tell you about our exciting walk today.  With sausage, and summer beach dens and EVERYTHING! First we went in the car to the salt marsh beach, but then we went North to the Centre of the Universe, instead of South to my Memory Benches. They had planted trees and poppies nearby. This is wot we saw (it was very dark and we thought it woz going to rain) The

WEDNESDAY 7th September: Windowcleaner defence!

Cato: We've had a busybusybusy day!  Mum couldn't walk us again, and Dad had to go workstuff, but it is a good job!  If we had gone out, we might not have been around to mount the WindowCleaner Defence Manouevre!  It was very exciting. The first we knew of the attack was when we were snuggling with Mum on the sofa while she ate her lunch.  There was terrible banging and clanking and dangerous shadows on the front window!  I ran to the front door, and Tara climbed on the table behind th

Autumn Photoshoot

Today we saw real signs of the changing of the seasons. Some of these pictures have come out like Rembrandt oil paintings (slightly fuzzy, and look best when you stand further away), and some are crisp and clear.  I think it is the difference between the Auto Focus, and the zoom where I control the focusing.  I definitely need more practice at these closeups! I was wandering round thinking 'gosh, there is nothing to shoot', but then I noticed how subtly beautiful the light is, and how

Sat 4th Feb: AuntieSue and Hellebore Day

Tara:  Hello Aunties.  We went to meet AutnieSue at Town Park today and there where these Hellebooring things all over the place.  You will see just how boring they were when you get to the pics.  Yawn.  But I don't mind, cos I can tell you about meeting AuntieSue who gives us treats.  And stuff like that. This is First Sniff before we met Auntie. And this is some big old boring tree wot Mum remembers from last summer when they cut all its arms off, but now it is growing its hair

WEDNESDAY 26th October: Bear Woods and MUD

Cato: So today Mum took us to Bear Woods.  It was GREAT. This is First Sniff: and this is a nice Spaniel who wasn't listening to his Mum at all.  She was shouting and shouting, and he was sniffing and sniffing. Today we went the other way round from normal, so all the sniffs came in the reverse order.  It was fun! Just along here we met a lady from Mum's work, with her friend and two children.  We were excellent Shih Tzu ambassadors, Mum says.  The boy

MONDAY 7th November: Sniffy! Yay!!!

Cato: Mum said no walk yesterday cos of the coldwetwindiness, but today we went to the Big Lake.  I had to wear my English Gentleman Jumper, cos of the cold, and we only went round the lake on the path.  Boring or what?  But Mum said that would be enough for me, and I was very tired at the end.  I AM feeling much better though.  But I am VERY bored of fish. This is first sniff. It has been very weird while I was ill.  I haven't been able to go sniffing.  That is terrible.  M

FRIDAY 25th November: Spa Day

Cato: We had to get up early and go out with Dad, to see AuntieLesleyGroomer. She is very nice, and she gives us nice treats.  But she also gives us b**hs, and chops off all our hair.  And Mum isn't there. She has to do Tara first, cos otherwise Tara just whines, so I have to watch it all happening to her, and know that it is going to happen to me too... But then Mum and Dad picked us up and gave us breakfast, and put our jumpers on - cos it was really cold now I am bald.  An

SATURDAY 31st December: Hot Choc Gaumlessness

Tara:  So today we had fun!  And Mum did a silly gaumless goofy thing, like wot she says I always do, but I don't!  And she did it today!  Haha! We trekked all the way to the beach along the road!  Normally we go in the car, so we can get more beach, and less boring road stuff.  But today Dad needed to check his shifty times at work, so we walked.  Cato sniffed EVERYTHING.  Here is the beach: It woz warmer today.  Less crispy and more comfy, so I didn't get to wear my pink ju

My MrMcT treatment

Cato: Hello Aunties!  Now that Tara has stopped fussing about her feet, I can tell you about my visit to my new VetDoctor.  Mum says he is called MrMcT which is short for him being a McTimoney somethingorother. He was nice. Tara didn't come in with me!  Yay!  So she wasn't squeaking and getting in the way and wanting fuss, and I had Mr MrMcT all to myself.  He got down on the floor to see me, which I liked, so I didn't have to stand on that horrible high vet table. He did stu

Cato would qualify for Mensa

Mum: Tara found a bone under the couch this evening. I am not proud of this, but there we are.  I run the kind of house where bones are, occasionally, found under couches.  At least it made Tara happy. One bone. Two dogs.  Finders keepers.  So obviously Cato wasn't quite so cheerful. It took a while, but eventually he managed to organise things to his satisfaction:  First he sat and watched Tara chewing.  Then he sat and had a think.  Then he went over to the doorway and sat

FRIDAY 26th Feb: Home Again

Cato: Very tired today, and got a bit worried seeing all the packing up this morning.  But we slept in the car, and when we woke up, we were home! Checked everything out, had a widdle and a calcium bone, and then went straight back to sleep.  Only problem is that Mum has wasted ages on the computer, instead of providing lap services in the front room.  Hope it doesn't mean we will miss out on brushing, later!  Mum says we get a day off walks and photos today, cos of our mara- mara

THURSDAY 3rd Mar: Sunny and short

Cato: It was sunny!  Feels like we haven't seen any sun for days.  So we rested all morning, then went out with Mum and Dad for a walk at the big lake.  Mum put her foot down (in a puddle) and said we couldn't go Off Path, cos of all the recent rain.  Humans are wimps, aren't they?  So we only walked round the lake, but it was still a good sniff. There was so much rain that all the mud has slipped into the water and made it brown.  See? Remember all those seagulls that we ch
