How much trouble can two dogs and one cat get into...?

Crinkly

The first few entries are transferred from another thread, when Crystal suggested that C, T and S deserved their own blog.

Great suggestion!  I just hope it doesn't go to their heads too much...

Anyway because the posts were transferred across, they are slightly out of order, but not to worry - the wee beasties haven't noticed! ;)

Right.  So I am under STRICT instructions to not mess about with this.  I have to write down exactly what I am told, and no prettifying or hiding stuff.  The Dynamic Duo are determined that they are in charge for this:

SUNDAY

Cato:

Met Auntie Jane for breakfast.  Antie Jane is nice and she defends me when Mum calls me a chunky porker.  Had to sit under cafe table as usual.  Bit boring.  But when  we walked away from the cafe and then got scrambled egg wot Mum had put in her napkin.  I like scrambled egg.  Then on beach, saw 2 HUGE Irish Wolfhounds and Tara was a wimpy wuss and wouldn't say hello.  Lots of labs and spaniels and sniffy bottoms.  And it was dry, and the tide was out.  And there was a man with a metal detecter thing so I helped him. And there were two horses.  I wanted to say hello but they were big so I decided not to.  And we walked all the way down from the pier and the donkeys to the Leisure Centre.  And back.  And there was a silly poodle in a pink collar who nearly trampled us.  Then we had a good sleep. And then Mum provided lap and brushing services while we all watched TV.

Tara:

Squished up egg is LOVELY.  Don't like big Wolf things.  Or poodles.  Barked in garden til they shouted at me.  Found a raw chicken wing in Sidney's bowl when no one was watching.  I like chicken wings.  Lovely and crunchy.  Got told off for that too, and eating it on the carpet in the front room.  Not fair.  If he had wanted it, Sidney should have eaten it, shouldn't he?  And anyway the carpet is dark red.  Don't see why they make such a fuss.  Then last night, Dad had to get up for work at 3.30, and I squeaked till he took me down for a wee.  And then I squeaked to get up on the bed with Mum.  But she wouldn't.  But I didn't really mind cos I was still full of chicken, and it was easy to go back to sleep.

:) Not black,  he was a kind of mousy gold with black tips - though it was actually very hard to see, on account of the amount of water and sand making him look darker and duller than usual.  All his fur was hanging in kind of strings, swinging like pendulums from the weight of the water, and there was a lot of stuff stuck in them too...  Looked just like one of those 20 year old grey cotton mops you see being used on TV, when the late-night cleaner is about to be murdered  as they lock up the kitchen for the night - if you know what I mean? :)  The ones that just spread grey water about instead of mopping anything. :roflmao:

Lol....this one must be another one then...What bright spark takes a long coat to the beach?

Never would I ever...I hate taking them out if it's raining.......too much work cleaning up the mess

And I know exactly the kind of mop you describe....it's hanging on my back porch in Georgia :hysterical:

Cute low down on Cato and Tara. They sure sound like they had a fun day.......places to go, people/paws to meet and good food to chow on.....what more could a paw want on a Sunday afternoon other to end it with PUPPY PAWS DREAMS of their day. .........thanks for sharing that with us.

MONDAY

Cato: Went to Country Park and walked round lake twice!! Had enough before the end.  She kept bouncing all over me, so I got very muddy again.  But Mum said that 3 baths in a week was too much, and we would be itchy.  So we were muddy itchy not bath itchy.  But when it was dry, Mum brushed me for AGES, and it was lovely, except for when Tara was pulling my tail.  And my fur got clean and very fluffy.  Mum says that mud is a volumiser.  Wotever that is.  And we went to see Uncle Nigel, who has a wonky leg but is very good at giving treats.  And he has a ball that came from America!  It smells funny, and I wouldn't let Tara have it.  We had raw beef for breakfast and then again for tea, but I was still full so Sidney was given my tea.  Sidney is horrible.

Tara:

Sidney is a flea bag!  Sidney is a mouldy, stinky flea bag!  He killed a mouse and woke Dad up and had to be chased and I was asleep so I missed it all.  But the mouse gave Sidney fleas and then Sidney slept in my bed.  And now I am all scratchy and mum has to go and get some special treats.  We had a lovely walk and I chased the geese until they turned and looked at me.  And there were 2 chiahuahuas but I was bigger than them.  And Uncle has a cat, and I like cat food.  And cat biscuits.  And I am better than Cato, cos I lie on the sofa on my back and stretch and stretch until my tummy is all long and wriggly, and Mum can brush the mud off every bit of me.  And then she has to vacuum it up.

THURSDAY

Tara:

Me first today!  You snooze you lose Cato slow coach!  haha! Mum was out all morning, but Dad was in, so we had a lie in, but then we all walked together later.  We went to Country Park and it was fab.  Except for the two Border Collies that sniffed my bottom, even though I sat on it.  After we did the lake bit, Dad decided to take us to see the donkey field.  No donkeys but LOTS of mud!  It was thick and gooey and I could walk over the top of it.  Dad and Mum sank through. I rolled Cato in the wettest bit but it didn’t stick to his fur.  We watched TV in the evening, while being brushed, and Sidney came and screeched for food, even though I could see there was raw pork steak in his bowl that I couldn’t reach despite me being starving.

Cato:

Only one flea today!  Raw lamb and pork too.  Mum had cooked chicken but didn’t give any to us.  I was looking out of the patio door beside our doggie door, watching the wind, when I saw a giant monster flapping on the shed roof.  So I barked and barked and barked, and everyone came to look.  Can you see it?

148l75.jpg

No one else could see it, until the wind blew again, and then Mum said ‘Thank you Cato, the shed roof felt is ripping in the wind, we need to mend it.’  But I wasn’t sure she had seen the danger, so I kept barking til she drew the curtains.  And the window cleaner came too.  I don’t like him.  He thinks he is good with us.  But he isn’t.  He smells of big dogs and is too rough.  Dad was out all evening, leaving me in charge, so I kept a special eye out for the monster.

Mum:

No input from Sidney today.  He ate well last night in his special dining area, slept on the bed with us all night (without scratching), and left this morning through the back window without leaving instructions/comments/complaints about his dinner menu.  Hardly limping at all, which is excellent.

Awww, bless you all.

That is sooo sweet.  I am blushing.  And so would the mutts be, if they weren't furry.

I have no idea how long we can keep it up, and I certainly can't guarantee an entry every day!  But will see how it goes.  I must say, our walks are even more fun now I take note of what we can tell you about them, and take a few pics...

And I had no idea quite how many dramas and excitements filled their lives until we started this. :laughbounce:

Tara,

I'm so glad you had a chance to go first. Those Border Collies are lovely dogs, but haven't they got big long noses, know wonder you didn't want them sniffing your bottom, it could of ended up anywhere...  I'll remember your idea of sitting on your bottom... That showed them who was boss... You go girl!!!! You are lucky to have a cat living with you as we don't have one, but when we see the neighbours  cat enter our garden, Donte will chase it away, of course I have to back him up, he can't do it on his own...

 Love Lacey

Cato,

Hope that's the last flea you get. Mummy got us some tablets from the vet man for fleas, and because I get hotspots and scratch sometimes she won't give it to me.. Not yet... Buts she's keeping it just incase.

I'm so glad you protected your family from that giant flappy monster, it's a good job you was on look out. I notice things like this for my family. But they don't seem to thank me when I bark at the birds sitting in the tree. And not to mention those chickens... I'm always barking at them...

Shhhhh, come here Cato.... while I whisper in your ear.... You like raw chicken don't you??? .. Do you fancy coming to my house and getting those nasty chickens from next door, mummy would be so grateful...

Let me know if that giant flappy monster bothers you again.  I could come and play at your house and scare it away with you....

Love Donte

I love  your blog too... I enjoy reading it so much... Hope you don't mind Lacey and Donte's replies... Hugs

Cato:

Wish Donte and Lacey and all the Adventurers from Sophie's Haven could have come with us today! walked along the salt marshes and the boating lake today.  There were lots of enormous geese, and Mum had to put me on the lead or I would have hunted and killed them all!  IF we had been a big pack it would have been even better!

Then we walked through the salt marshes.

see the lump out to sea on the horizon?  Mum says it is The P&O Ferry from Hull to Zeebrugge whatever that means.

Mum slipped over in the mud, and everyone got soaking wet in the rain.  Then we walked back round the boating lake.

Here we are all soggy and wet and manky

Then we got left in the car for 5 mins while Mum and Dad went into a shop.  I didn’t like being left so when they came back I barked to tell them off.  They NEVER leave us in the car.  Mum said she was sorry but it was an emergency.

We mended the shed roof too.  I supervised.  See?

Tara:

Mum fell over in the slippy mud!  It was really funny!  She went down on all 4 paws and could hardly get back up without sliding onto her tummy.  We all got cold and wet and decided to come home, but they left us in the car for hours and hours and hours and I cried.

Then we all came home and ate raw lamb, and played in the garden.  I like lamb bones best when they start to get stinky, but Mum steals them at that point.

Sidney:

Very windy so I went out briefly, just to check everything was OK, then had a duvet day.  They were doing things in my garden.  I could hear.  I will check later to see what they have changed.

Wow you are both so lucky to go walking in some beautiful places. Donte loves to chase birds too.

Glad you gave your Mummy and Daddy 'what for' when they left you in the car.... Tut tut! Lol

Donte asked me to tell you that he's so pleased you alerted your mum and Dad about the giant flappy monster. And he's gone away... I think you should keep watch just incase he decides to come back.

Sorry to hear your Mummy fell over in the slippy mud. I do hope she's ok...  But where are the pictures, not sure we believe you without pictures :roflmao: only joking Hun...

Sidney, enjoy your duvet day ?

Tuesdays and Wednesday Late entry....sorry out of place

TUESDAY

Cato:

Very itchy today. And no walk.  There was a lot of rain and wind in the garden, and Tara likes barking at the wind, but I like watching it through the glass door.  It might not have been raining at the park, but Mum said it was, but I don’t see how she could know.  So slept all morning.  Had raw lamb and bones for breakfast, but there was only one bone so I had to be very firm with Tara who is greedy.  The treats tasted funny today, and I spat one white one out.  But I think it reappeared in a piece of lamb :(   And Mum dripped ick on the back of my neck too, and it smells of almonds.  And I don’t like it.  Slept all evening too.  Bored.  Except for the python fight.  And the wrestling.  And the ping pong.  But Tara was too rough and I had to shout at her twice.  Hope we can walk tomorrow.

Tara:

Boring!  Nasty treats and greasy drops, and itches and NO WALK.  Cato was boring too.  And I went to say hello to Sidney, and he nearly hit me.  Mum has taken all the beds and is hoovering everything.  She says the next step is Diatummy Earth.  Which sounds horrible. And everything itches.  Bored. Bored. Bored.

Sidney:

Still no chicken wings, although I am promised one today.  Apparently.  They have said that before. My incarceration on the top floor continues.  Pipsqueak and The Brat seem to think the ground floor belongs to them, but little do they know that as soon as they are penned at night I sleep in their beds, eat their food, drink their water and check out the kitchen surfaces.  Went downstairs briefly yesterday, and The Brat came charging up to do her wagging licking thing.  Revolting.  Will she ever grow up?  And I understand that I am being blamed for their flea outbreak.  Ridiculous.  I don’t have fleas.

My foot is much better - in case anyone was interested.

Mum:

Oh dear. Morale seems VERY low.  Will have to walk them tomorrow (actually today) or we could face a mutiny!  Chicken wings all round :) as a first step, and praying the rain eases off later!

Edited to add: pleased to report that chicken and a brisk walk seem to have improved the atmosphere. :cheezy:

I'd like to know what a python fight is too, Cato?  I really enjoyed reading this today!  I needed it!

Sidney, I'm glad your foot is doing better.

Eeeek!  A mouse!  (Good job on killing that one.)

There used to be a Boxer Forum by a man with 2 Boxers.  He was an advocate of homecooking so it was a good place to go for recipes and ideas.  Every day he posted a few paragraphs about the dogs' adventures.  Sometimes they were funny or naughty or not feeling well or just anything that happened that day.  I think he used a little "poetic license" and embellished things - but it was always fun to read.

He passed away not too long ago......don't know if the forum (it had a lot of members)is still going.

I think Cato and Tara should have such a blog, written by them :-)

WEDNESDAY

Cato:

Good walk! We went on leads to the end of the road, and then twice round the big field.  This is me waiting for the slow-coach crawly bugs to catch up with me.  See me in the distance?  On the path?

image_zpsafmn6ssk.jpeg

Then through the graveyard.  And back down the road with the wet leaves.  On leads.  I always go on strike in the graveyard when I am walking with Dad, who hates it, and gets embarassed, and picks me up for 50 yards.  Which is fun.  But Mum was with us today, so I didn't try it on. :)    A woman stopped us by the wet leaves and asked how old I am, because I am so 'darling'.  So then Tara jumped on me.  But she was tired after the walk, so she didn't push me over this time.

image.jpg1_zpsxkuxpjmc.jpg

We have 2 pythons living in our house.  This is the pink one.  Obviously, I killed it, in the photo, because Tara is too titchy and silly and girly to have killed it.  Now she is so big (fat), she sometimes gets the pythons after I have finished with them.  We have a yellow python too.

Tara:

Why does Cato go first every time?  It isn't fair.  This is Cato scratching his fleas on our walk! Hahahaha!  Me and Dad are laughing at him.

image_zpspnxvueut.jpeg

I like the Big Field cos you can run and run and run and Cato is slower than me because now I am sooooooo big and strong and taller than him, I can always catch him.  Which he hates.  Sometimes he hides behind Dad's legs, but I still get him!  And I am NOT fat!!!

Sidney:

A peaceful day.  With chicken.  But they are insisting that I come downstairs to eat from now on, which I do not like.  They say I am being antisocial.  Not true.  I am happy to socialise with Auntie Jane when she visits.  She gives good ear rubs.  But why would I want to socialise with dogs?  It makes no sense.  And just because I have been seen to scratch once, does NOT mean that I have a flea.  Scratching is a perfectly normal part of the washing ritual.

Mum:

We are now 3 days into the Flea Ordeal.  Everyone has been treated.  All areas hoovered daily.  Beds washed.  Yet they are still waking up in the mornings and scratching.  My only consolation is that as each flea climbs aboard, it will get killed before it can breed, so giving it a few more days... how many fleas can one mouse carry?

:clap:Love all the pictures and the stories related to them. My Stinkers would be in their glory taking a walk with Tara and Cato. I know how when my guys go out for a walk they get so excited and even if they run that path everyday it is like there first day........all the new smells to search out.
