FRIDAY 18th Mar: Belated Mum's Day walk, as promised
Sidney:
Good morning. Just a gentle reminder that the window is still shut. My bowl is empty. And you are still in bed an hour later than usual.
Tut tut.
Cato:
Remember AGES AGO we had to give Mum some chocs and stuff and in return she was 'contracted' to take us for a walk? Well, that was TODAY. And it was GREAT!!!
This is the board that tells you boring human stuff:
Mum says I have to explain our route. Hubbards Hills is a narrow valley with steep sides and a river down the middle. The pale green on the map is the flat valley bottom. The dark green are the really steep sides, covered in trees. We started at the P for PArking at the top and crossed the water, and climbed the side of the valley. Then we walked all the way to the P at the bottom (walking down the right hand edge of the dark green on the map).
At the bottom P, we turned round and walked back to the car along the valley bottom beside the river until we got back to the car.
Phew! Mum had to help me with that! Maps are VERY difficult!
This is the flat bit by the carpark before we climbed up the valley side.
These are snowdrops. Mum made a real oooohhh ahhhhhh fuss.
This is climbing the hill:
This is the view from the top of the hill, looking back down to where Dad parked the car.
Come on Mum! Put the camera away and keep up!
This is at the top. Mum says the tree is the best bit in this photo. Charming! She also says you can see how steep the hill is.
Looking down the hill to the river valley
It started to rain a bit
And then the sun came out briefly when we got to the valley floor
I hate it when she bites my tail
Interesting sniff post
nearly back to the car
The dogbiscuit and drink place was shut!!! Can you see us? Tara had to climb the steps. Of course.
So we had to go into Louth and have a dogbiscuit there:
And Nice Mr Louth Butcher gave us these ENORMOUS marrow bones. He saw us waiting outside his shop, and laughed, and cut the bones smaller for us. And refused to let Dad pay for them. He just laughed. We like Mr Louth Butcher!!! Although Mum says we have to chew the bones on the tiles, and if they EVER appear in the rest of the house then we will have all our fur shaved off and we will get painted sky blue pink! Tara has already tried to drag one of them through to the living room, but Dad caught her and stopped her.
See how lovely and dirty my feet are?
Wot a FAB day.
Tara:
Me and Dad.
I am nearly as tall as Dad! hahahaha!
Me, OK us, watching golf in the rain.
Me and the mud
Me and the bench that kept eating my foots
Mum says we are having a Whole New Adventure tomorrow, but I am not to be scared.
Gulp.
