Beagle mayhem

We're in the midst of our house move.

I had noticed (vaguely) that the neighbor behind us and up the hill has a pack of beagles kept in a pen (which makes me sad, but OTOH it's the norm for hunting dogs).

We finally got the house all cleaned and scrubbed, new flooring installed in bathrooms and laundry room and the carpet in the rest of the house cleaned.  So late yesterday afternoon I decided it was time for Yogi to visit his soon-to-be-new-home for the first time.

And the beagles up the hill were *really* interested in him when he was exploring the back yard.

I hope they don't think he's a rabbit.

I have a fondness for hounds, and beagles in particular, and don't mind at all hearing them sound off when I'm home alone.  I figure they're like a very good home security system that doesn't cost me anything.  But I sure hope they get used to Yogi.  I will NOT enjoy it if they go into a baying frenzy every time we step out the back door!  Thankfully Yogi had little interest in them, and other than looking quizzically in their direction he ignored them.

Oooh!  can we have some pics of Beagle View?

I wonder if they will get used to him?  Life in a kennel must be pretty boring, and if something interesting happens, it must be impossible to contain the excitement. :)

All that house improvement must be exhausting.  Well done though.  Very impressed!   I have slowed down tremendously with stuff like that.  Used to be an over-achiever.  lol.  Now I pace myself, to the pace of a snail. :roflmao:

Oh how exciting getting the new house ready and the big move, Yay!! Will be interested to hear how Yogi takes to the new place and does in the move. Sure hope the beagles get used to him but I wouldn't count on it! We have a beagle at the top of the hill that we see every day on our walk and Everyday that beagle carries on from the time he gets a whiff of Missy till we get back home, of course we've only been doing the walk for going on two years so guess there's still time!! :judy:

Oh my barking beagles........good luck.   At least Yogi does not seem to have any issues.....I can already tell you who would be competing at the fence line in barking back at the beagles with my guys............How exciting to be getting ready for the big move....nothing nicer then to have things taken care of before you move in. How did your MIL do with her surgery?

I'll try to get a picture of the beagle pen after we get settled.  It's partially obscured by trees, so by the time we're settled I may have difficulty getting a picture.  Or maybe I'll go into weird neighbor mode and just walk up there, poke around and take some pictures.

Crystal, you're hardier than we are -- we paid to have the flooring installed!

MIL's surgery is April 4.  Our official move day is the 31st.  So that will give us the weekend to get settled in before her surgery date.  We're in the process of moving the small stuff already, so I hope official move day will be fairly easy.

Well, they're Beagles, so it's likely you will both be greeted enthusiastically every time you step out the door lol.  I have NEVER known a Beagle that didn't want to chat with every person or critter they see!
