FRIDAY 20th May: Pack lake walk
Tara:
Aunties, something wrong is happening. It all started when Mum went all Dog Calming Signal Whisperer on us. It was OK to start with. I barely noticed. But now she is stopping me from bouncing on Cato. Even out on walks! She only lets me bounce when he is ENJOYING it. Wots the point of that? It should be that I can bounce when I like. Which is all the time. Not fair!
And now, he is getting all... um... confident. It is weird. I mean, look!
Here I am, splatting him GOOD
and then he decides to get all difficult
and then when I bounce off ready to circle round and charge back in, he actually FOLLOWS me!
He isn't supposed to do that! It feels like he is CHASING me.
But we did have a good walk. This is our first sniff:
And then this is the donkeys. Cato didn't do his silly Donkey Dash this time.
Dad wanted to put us on the lead at this point, but Mum asked him not to. She said 'they are such cowards they won't go anywhere near the donkeys, don't worry!'
She is wrong. I mean, she is wrong about us being cowards. We are brave! And clever! But she woz a little bit right that we didn't go and visit the donkeys in the field. I mean, wot is the point?
Cato:
There were a LOT of donkeys today. They get quite dangerous in big flocks. So I decided to visit them another time. When their poo is closer. And there aren't as many dangerous attack donkeys crowding the fence. Just being sensible, you know.
This is the ditch that Tara wanted to climb down last time. The grass had grown up so much she didn't even see the water. Hahaha! I remembered it though. I don't like heights, so I stayed away.
This is Dad striding off by himself while we were playing.
We had to catch up sharpish, or he would be getting himself lost again.
Just making sure he isn't taking the wrong fork
An arty shot by Mum. Yawn.
and another
And this is me not wanting to get into the hot car. I was tired, but that doesn't mean I wanted the walk to be over!
Mum:
And here are two shots that make my heart overflow.
Firstly, Cato flopped at his Dad's feet waiting for a drink of water (it was a warm day, and they were both flagging by half way round the lake)
and secondly, the pair of them Worshipping Dad as he prepares to play Truffle Hound with them.
Did you notice how WHITE Tara is today? She says that wet grass is better than a bath, any day!
