TUESDAY 19th July: Monster patrol

Tara:

Monster!  Monster!  I saw it!  I saw it first!!!  Monster!!!!

Cato:

We just found a Monster!  It was very exciting.  The back door was open, cos of the hotness, and we went out for a patrol, and we saw it, flapping dangerously round the garden under the table!  So we barked and barked til Mum came to investigerate.  We would have got it, of course, only she came too quickly.

It was a Monstrous plastic bag!!!  Flap! Flap!

I have to keep going out and checking it hasn't come back.  And Tara went out and barked so often that Dad has tied her to the end of his desk, so she can't disturb the neighbours.

I would have thought the neighbours would WANT to be warned about dangerous attack plastic bags blowing in over the wall and being menacing, wouldn't you?

Absolutely, Cato!  I totally agree!  If I were your neighbor, I'd want to know. :hysterical:  :judy:  :hysterical:  I bet your neighbors feel safer just knowing that you and Tara have everything under control.

Plastic bags are berry, berry scary.........and dangerous!  Good thing you guys kept the whole neighborhood safe from it.  Warning though:  they are all OVER the place!

Don't worry Aunties - we will be keeping our eyes peeled!  Extra patrols tomorrow.

Ooh, do you think the heat has brought the Bag Monsters out?  Maybe they get more vicious in hot weather...

Cato......I think they tend to feel "limp" just like most creatures when it's hot outside.  It's in the Fall when things get blustery that they fly all over the whole world.  But never the less.......you need to stay alert!

Donte,

Cato, Those flappy plastic bag are really scary. Good job you was on guard.

Did your bag have a message on it? Was it trying to tell you something?

We saw a brown paper one yesterday, but it wasn't as flappy as yours. Mummy picked it up carefully and placed it in the dustbin... Do you think it lives there?

Cato:

Brown paper bags often sneak in with the food.  They seem to like carrying vegetables.  Dad lets us kill them every time.  Then they go in the bin to die.

But it was a bit of a shock seeing one free and flying round the garden!  I don't think it had writing on it.  Mum says it didn't.  Does that mean it was a loner?

We are still keeping a good look out for more.

Mummy has been putting a plastic bottle, a wine bottle and the odd paper and cardboard item in the bin. We thought she was feeding it. She said it was the recycling bin and that's where she puts her rubbish. We think she has a new pet and she's feeding it though. We are keeping guard and if it jumps out, we'll chase it away.

Oh yes, yours sounds like a loner. Are these ones the worst, if they don't mind being on their own..

Let me know if you see anymore ,

Oh yes, recycling.  Don't understand it myself.  very complicated.  Mum and Dad talk about it a lot.  Well, actually Mum does the talking and then Dad sighs and gets wotever he just put into the bin out of the bin, and puts it into another bin.  VERY complicated.

Dad is about to take us out for our first walk in 3 days!!!  It is SO EXCITNG.  Nice and cooler this morning, but a bit hot later, so Dad (we LOVE Dad) is going to take us out NOW.  Think he might get breakfast too... praying for sausages.  And Mum won't be coming with us, so she won't keep us to the No Sausages for a Week rule!

Got to go!  Dad has the leads and the water and the treats, and we are going to Foxy.  Ooooh!  Dad, wait for me!!!

No sausage.

Dad said we had to go home after the walk, cos it was getting too hot to sit in the car.  We wouldn't have minded.  It doesn't take long to eat sausage, does it?
