WEDNESDAY 7th September: Windowcleaner defence!
Cato:
We've had a busybusybusy day! Mum couldn't walk us again, and Dad had to go workstuff, but it is a good job! If we had gone out, we might not have been around to mount the WindowCleaner Defence Manouevre! It was very exciting.
The first we knew of the attack was when we were snuggling with Mum on the sofa while she ate her lunch. There was terrible banging and clanking and dangerous shadows on the front window! I ran to the front door, and Tara climbed on the table behind the sofa, and we barked and barked and barked (in case Mum hadn't noticed).
There was a man on a ladder! Trying to get into our house!!! Waving a tea towel around in a threatening manner!
But we drove him off.
He must have known that Our Pack was capable of driving him off, mustn't he? Cos he flapped around a bit but gave up in the end.
So then we had a bit of a snooze (cos organised siege warfare is a bit tiring) and Mum went back to work... But then he came back! And he brought a friend! And this time, they attacked the BACK of the house!!! Right near our catflap! Stomping all over the garden with their creaky big scary ladders, and their whistling, and their talking and singing!!!
We had to work harder this time. Running in and out of the catflap, up and down the garden.
The man put his ladder over the wall, and climbed in! He was HUGE. And flappy!!!
At one point we had to retreat inside, and now our catflap and patio door smells of his stinky washing water. Ewwww!!!!
Eventually, his attack got so serious that Mum had to stop her work and go out and see them off. She was incredibly brave. She walked right up to him. Talked to him. She pretended to be friendly, just to lull him into a false sense of security, I think. Then she handed him something, and he went away. Humans fight in weird ways, but it sure was effective.
We escorted the defeated invaders off the property, just to show them who had won!
Mum is very very brave isn't she?
Good job we were around too, or she would have been computering and wouldn't have known we were under attack, and been able to fight them off!
(Mum: no pics of this epic battle, I am afraid. Didn't want to lay myself open to any sneaking flank attacks, so left the camera inside today)
