Mum got all grumpy

We got all excited today. Mummy said that a new dog field had been opened in our little town. It's part of the field behind the cemetery. Mummy read somewhere the council were going to fence it off so it was secure and let us doggies meet and greet and play with each other.

So off we went all excited, I may add.

But when we arrived at the field, Mummy turned all grumpy... I know you won't believe us, but she does get grumpy sometimes.

She said that the grass hadn't been cut for a start and there was dog poo on the grass... yuk, we have a slave to pick ours up!

And brambles... what are brambles???

Anyway Mummy said she wasn't going to let us off because she knew we'd want to run and play with each other and she was worried we would get caught up in the brambles, and get prickles in us...

Mum... Slave, I do it because I love them ?

I didn't take my phone so I haven't got pictures. There was odd bushes growing in the middle and around the field, which I thought I was lovely and they could leave... but there was a few tiny hawthorns bushes starting to grow and brambles were popping up all over the grass and around the field. I was going to risk letting them off and then having them running through brambles.. Think I may fire an email off to council .. don't know why they bothered if it's going to be half hearted... so yes, I was a little grumpy...

That's what we always find at the rest stops when we travel.  I can understand why they can't be kept up as nice as the rest of the rest stop  - but dog areas are always dirt with dead sticker/burr plants everywhere.

What a shock horrror and I don't blame you as those brambles are horrid in the paw pads. Hope you do fire a letter off to the council....that's just terriable

I am currently mulling over a similar email to our council.

We pulled up in the car on the Promenade this morning, to have breakfast before our walk.  I knew there were new Pay and Display machines, and I have used them before (with cash), so I wasn't expecting the drama I had.

Firstly, I REALLY STRUGGLED to read the TINY print on the instructions.

Then it refused my coins and wanted a card instead.

Then the layout and instructions for using the card were tortuous and absurdly counter-intuitive.

Then when the ticket was printed, it was really awkward to extract from the slot.

Wot a palaver!!!

I am 49, computer literate and have a reasonable amount of Parking Machine experience.  That new machine seemed to have been designed to deliberately confuse, and my parents would have been totally unable to even read the instructions without a magnifying glass, yet alone follow them.

VERY unimpressed.

I hear ya :bomb: about the updated machines.....There's a new one in Morley that's got more sense than I do! :P Blasted thing

First the key pad is made child size for tiny fingers...press the keys and insert your license tag number and letters. Then insert a coin and it finally clicks and churns out a scrap of paper that's all but impossible to get out that little window it's behind...No wonder their remaining customers are parking elsewhere...At first you can't read instructions and following them would be daunting for elderly that can't see to start with....much less remember their tag numbers
