Cato:

It was hothothot so we only went round once, then Mum and AuntieJane had a good sit on a bench, and then we came home.

If you aren't interested in plant stuff, then this will be a really boring blog.  Cos Mum and AuntieJane just wanted to pic flowers n stuff.

This is first proper sniff.  Lots of paws come into the park by that path, so they like widdling here.  It is always lovely and sniffy.

Can you see the bird nest inside the Entmoot?

the tulips, just before they go all old and manky.

greenery all over the trees, and no pink left.  And no people, either.  The park was empty!

Tara really wanted to see William, but he didn't come. :( she was sad.

It was so hot we sat for ages.

Mum says we can have a nice short clip next time, and stay cooler.  Except that she isn't the one that has to have the b*th and the horrid buzzy things all over her face and ears and knickers, is she?  She wouldn't call it 'nice' if she did.

White stuff.

Mum says that The Roses Are Back, and growing, but she might sneak some rose food in, so they can have a good meal, cos they have a lot of weeds to compete with!

And the Fatty Plant, the Phormy Plant, and the weeds

The car was sooooo hot when we got back in.

Mum says we may have to start using the other car park, cos there is more shade there.

I would like that!

I can sympathise with you both for last weeks warmth, seems like paws suffered the most. It being only in the 80's  I welcomed the warmth and didn't ache as bad from arthritis finally, the paws thought I had lost my mind...:roflmao: They probably right . hehehehe

Cant wait to see those roses open, love roses so much. Looks like snail and slug bait will have to come out soon as I spotted them already eating up the only hosta I got...reminds me of Hilla the Hun from Star Wars ( think that was its name)...all plump, slick and slimy uck

HOSTA - aka as "snail food"!

Speaking of heat.....we're going back to California soon and I dread leaving the coastal temps and soft fog of Oregon.  It will likely be in the 90's when we get back - ugh. Staying inside in the AC, leaving the blinds closed, sleeping under a sheet, dashing from the AC in the car to the AC in the stores running errands.

I shouldn't complain though because in July Aug and Sept when it's REALLY blistering, we'll come back to the coast where 70* is something to talk about and 80* causes city-wide swooning. :heat::heat:

That sounds like my idea of a lovely summer. I'm so very jealous ?

Can't seem to grow hosta's here, too many slugs and snails. I could do with something in my garden that eats slugs and snails.

I think I would LOVE Oregon.

All that lovely rain and cool mist, plus a beautiful coastline...

Snakes......we have garter snakes - they eat snails and slugs. Last year when I was taking out the Red Lucifer Crocsmia, I found snails buried in the sand/dirt.  I didn't know they did that.....!?!

I see the nest too.  Cato and Tara - stay close to Mum and  Dad.  That looks like the nest of a BIG bird who might think you are a wabbit!

Oh AuntieM, we will!  There used to be a horrible big flappy bird of prey at this park that got pigeons regularly.  Mum was worried about me when I was little.  But we haven't seen it for a while.

And Mum says that hedgehogs like eating slugs and snails.  Could you get a pet one, AuntieAngel? From a rescue place?

Tara wants a hedgehog now too, cos she has seen the pic, but Mum says she wouldn't like the prickles!  Apparently, she would learn respect VERY quickly. haha!

We put up a new fence a few years ago and now no hedgehogs can get underneath and into our garden. In one way I'm pleased because our cat used to catch ticks off them, but I would love a tick free hedgehog, they are soooo cute ?
