It’s been one whole week since I’ve been at my forever home. Lacey Lou has laid down her ground rules and put me in my place a few times. Mummy was getting a bit worried she was being too rough with me but Lacey knew what she was doing because now I respect her space and leave her alone whilst she is sleeping. Shhhhh don’t tell her , but she can be a bit grumpy at times. Esme Grace has been lovely. She likes to play with me and I like to play lots with her. I run around after her and hang off her tail. She has to run away and jump on the sofa to stop me. No wonder Lacey laid down her ground rules because I know I can’t do that with her. We have all played together, but Lacey likes to play when she wants to, and I like to play all the time. Mummy is trying to get me to sleep in my puppy pen in the day, ready for when she goes back to work. Hmmmmm I’m not so happy about that, I can tell you. I cry like a big baby when I wake up and I realise she had put me in there. But Mums getting a bit clever for me. Because she’s let me sleep in it with the door open and I don’t mind that. I think she’s playing tricks on me. Aunties, i will let you know how sleeping in the puppy pen goes! Mummy did buy me a new bed , but it’s a little bit big and I’m not sure about it, so I’ve borrowed Esmes small bed. It has pink on it and I feel all snuggly in it because it feels like someone is holding me when I’m asleep in it. Oh and I like the big washy things that mum puts the dirty clothes in and they come out all wet and smelling clean. I like to stand and watch it going round and round.

Hello Aunties! Mum waited til last night to tell me about our Spa Day, cos she knew I wouldn't be happy. She waited til I was all snuggly before my Brush, so It wasn’t too much of a shock. Here I am, all relaxified. Jasmine was washing my face earlier. She does a lot of that. I don’t mind a bit of face washing, but sometimes I have to tell her off, cos she does it too much. She is very very very licky. and this is another pic from last night when Mum stopped rubbing my chest. When she starts to slack I put up my paw and wave it at her. That is usually enough to get her rubbing again. Sometimes i have to wave both paws. That is when she isn’t paying proper attention. I have to keep reminding her. She pretends that her hand will wear out and drop off, but I know better. Her chest rubs are lovely. and this is me lying on my back, in bed. Tara and I sleep in the Big Bed with Mum and Dad, but a little while ago Mum bought these donut bed things. Mum likes them because we can use them as pillows, but I heard Dad say that he likes them because we take up less space and don’t push him out of bed. I think I shall stop using the donut in the winter though. It is much nicer snuggling up against Dad when it is cold. And sometimes I can wriggle right under the duvet. That is the best! Oh, and here I am after Lovely Mrs Groomer did her horrid buzzy thing all over me. I think I am more handsome with longer face fur, but Mum says I am always the most handsomest paw in the whole wide world, no matter how long my moustache and beard are.

Mum: Such a long time since Cato, Tara and I have blogged. I've been busy, and last year kind of went in a blur. I had a rather unfortunate stomach upset that left me under the weather for months, and then... things drifted. Then I heard about the shootings at the Garlic Festival, and immediately logged on here to see how Marlene was, and suddenly I am missing you all, and your news, terribly! We have some news at this end too. A new pup. Jasmine. This is the photo we were sent, before we met her (she is a Pug cross) And I have been aware that without the blog, I am not getting as much delight out of Jasmine's youthful puppiness as I did with Tara. Fewer photos. Fewer recorded moments. So this is the first of more blog entries, I hope. Funny how fresh and new the world looks out of a pup's eyes. Jasmine flower buds

...that we have another elegant little lady joining the pack. Tara was always a tomboy. The sort to wear pink fairy wings while beating Cato over the head with a Tonka toy tractor. Jasmine is more of a 'who cares whether I am a boy or a girl, lets play, eat, sleep and fart, and then do it all over again'. And again. So long as Cato gets my lap, they don't steal his chews, and they leave him to sleep in peace, he doesn't care what the girls get up to.

Hello Aunties! Here is me in my donut bed. and washing my knickers. Cato never washes his knickers. Thats disgusting, isn’t it Aunties? Boys are disgusting. I HATE Spa Days! Mum did tell us, but that doesn’t make it any better! I didn’t want to get out of bed this morning. Mum had to put my lead on first, and the drag me out! (Mum: actually Tara it was more like a gentle nudge) So Mum abandoned us, like usual. And I had to have a stinky b**h. Cato woz all goodie goodie as usual, but I wozn’t! Haha! But it woz Ok. Mum came and rescued us, and gave us burger! I like burger! Jasmine smelled of burger before we had ours, so she had burger twice! Mrs Groomer did good with my tail though, didn’t she? When Dad comes home I’m going to wag extra specially hard so he notices. But my face is a bit too buzzy short.

Why won't anyone play with me? https://youtu.be/8ApPqbWW6ls The Paper Bag Killing Game https://youtu.be/mZQKaPyxcJo Sausage Tug'o'War https://youtu.be/HR5j-kYNEtQ And the man himself, demonstrating the importance of having lots of corners on cushions https://youtu.be/LTrSdfEvIIE

This is her den in the corner of the front room. We feed her in it. The orange cushion is Cato's current humpy cushion. It has 5 corners! He likes the corners very much. And orange has always been his favourite colour in toys. So presumably that goes for sex toys too. ;) This was at her littlest. This is what Tara thought of the whole Puppy Nightmare And this is what Cato thought about it: But eventually things improved. Cato was much more willing to be welcoming, and eventually Tara's resistance wore down, although she still has an excellent curled lip expression when things get too boisterous and she is trying to sleep. She started off at 1.6kg (that is around 3 pounds) and is now 5.1kg (that is around 9 pounds and is heavier than Cato). The growth predictor websites expect her to top out eventually at around 6.6kg, which will be about a pound heavier than Tara. And she can now walk over Cato, because her stilt like legs are as long as the top of his shoulders. hahaha!

Cato: Hello Aunties! We have missed you! We have been off having adventures and stuff, and not writing about them. But Mum says that now we can do blogging again. I am glad about that. It has been a bit boring without you. I sleep a lot when I am bored. I am on Mum's lap. It is the only place I can sleep safely nowadays? Everywhere else, Jasmine might get me. And - most importantly, my tail is still gorgeous. Then next importantly, the weather has been veryveryvery hot, and we haven't been walking very much. Which is sad. And then least importantly, Jasmine has come to live with us. Jasmine started very small, and was very fast and wriggly and boingy. Then she grew a bit. And a bit more. And now she is bigger than Tara! Not as heffalumpy as Tara (yet). But bigger. Mum says she will tell you all about it. This is just after scrambled eggs in our favourite cafe Tara: Hello Aunties! Welcome back to my blog! I know you want to hear all about wot I have been doing, but I have forgotten lots of it. Mum says she might be able to find some pics if you want. But now is sooooo much more fun, isn't it Aunties? Except for the Jasmine stuff. Puppies are awful, aren't they? Except for me. I was never awful like Jasmine is. Mum is going to tell you all about how stressful and boingy and wriggly she is. And how she always wants to play. And how she can run faster than me! That isn't right, is it? No paw can run faster than me! S'not fair! I had to live on the back of the chair! For ages and ages and ages before it woz safe for me to come down.(Mum: you lasted a week up there, Tara. Dad and I were very impressed) Puppies are terrible! Mum: Right. Jasmine. It was all a bit of a fortuitous accident really. There we were, very happy in our quiet life with gentlemanly Cato and nearly-grown-up Tara. Nice and steady. Cato 6 years old, Tara coming up for 5 years old, when we decided to try a new cafe. The waitress was admiring Cato and Tara (as they often do), when she happened to say 'My sister's dog has just had puppies. Would you like one?' and one thing led to another... Sorry about the quality of some of these pics, but they are phone shots. These are Jasmine's parents Dad is the pug, and mum is half pug and half Chinese Crested. It was a litter of 7, all colours, all looking very Puggish. This was Day 2 and her first encounter with a dried lamb's tail. She thought she had died and gone to heaven. The blue cloth was her security blanket that smelled of her mum and her littermates. She slept with it for the first few nights (until she pooed on it and it had to be washed)
