  1. I just have to say how wonderful it feels to get back into a "normal" routine. I have made it to the gym 3 days in a row now. It's amazing how long it takes to build up strength and stamina but losing it happens so quickly. I was a little frustrated the first day back which was Sunday as while I was on the elliptical, my heart rate was climbing and getting too high despite the fact that I didn't feel like I was working that hard. I listened to the monitor and just stood where I should be as I felt that would be best. I did get to see the trainer for a couple of minutes yesterday as she ba

    Hooray! No More Stitches!

Well finally it came, no more stitches! I went yesterday morning to have them removed and I'll tell you it couldn't have come quick enough. On Wednesday when I was out and about it seemed my bandage was slipping a bit. I didn't think much of it until I was in the middle of things on Thursday. I realized that I was feeling some discomfort but decided to wait since I'd be going in Friday morning. I was correct and it has really irritated my suture line but all will be fine, just a little uncomfortable is all and of course it made the suture removal a little painful. I have a good rapport

    Just A Quick Update

Well I've been feeling pretty good although I've been going a little stir crazy, not used to being restricted but so be it . I am allowed to walk on the ball of my foot, just not put any weight on the heel and I can walk as much as I can tolerate, ok, he doesn't know me very well, I did escape yesterday and today for a bit, walked the whole mall yesterday , don't tell anyone, lol. I've found it very hard sleeping at night and I think it's because I'm not expending any energy but last night was easier. Tonight I have a play rehearsal so hopefully that'll help. I did get an ok from Do
  4. Well I found out I need to be there at 12:30pm , hmm was really hoping for first thing in the morning as I am not allowed anything by mouth after midnight but I'll have time to lounge around in the morning waiting around grrr. I have everything done at home that needed to be done, more or less so now I'm just waiting. This is going to be a long night but nowhere as long as my morning will be Morning Edit: OK, it's now 10:16 and I'm going stir crazy as I don't know what to do with myself I have 2 hours to go yet B)

    Happy First Day Of Spring!

At least thats what the calendar says . When I left this morning it was cold windy and snowy, so much for spring Currently the temp is about 26F or -4C but the sun is out and the snow gone. I am still surprised we've not had a huge snowfall this winter. I feel like it's waiting out there, lurking and going to hit us when we least expect it. I can't wait to feel the warmth of the summer sun and at this time of year I start to get impatient as I'm so weary of the cold, drab weather. At least we're almost there B)

    Pre-op Visit Today

Well I went to the Doctors today for my pre-op visit, . He asks "so are you ready" and of course I start to laugh and ask "are you ready" . He said he's looking forward to it as it's a different surgery then what he commonly gets to do, it's not unfamiliar just not the same daily routine. So I was a good girl, got my blood drawn at the lab, have my pain perscription to fill which I'll do this weekend and now I just have to get my call from the surgi-center to find out what time next Thursday I need to be there. It seemed like it took forever to get here and now I'm just a week away fro
  7. I am not a fan of grocery shopping but I usually go on a Sunday to do my weekly shopping. I needed to pick up lots of "odd things" this time such as spices and such. You know the kind of items you'd not normally buy more then a couple times a year and are never in the same location as you found them last time . Our local store here is forever rearranging things and even their own employees are never really sure where things were relocated. I was just about done with my shopping when I remembered that I needed OJ. I parked my cart at the end of an aisle as it was very crowed where the ju
  8. Well yesterday after I helped someone figure out their brand new lap top (loading different programs and stuff) I was just down the road from the mall so I decided to stop on in to see what kind of "Sales" were actually going on. I was amazed to see that JC Penney had multiple rounders full of clothing marked down to $4.77 an item , I had a good time going through them. I found a pretty blouse, 2 skirts, a sweater thats designed like a blazer (originally priced at $72) and 3 lingerie items for a grand total of $28.94 I was thrilled so I continued to another store where I managed to some

    Pink's New Music Video

I love music but have never really been a big fan of Pink, until today. I have to tell you that I've heard her new song called "Stupid Girl" and wasn't really sure what I thought about it till I saw this video. I am LMAO as this video is the best, it is so funny and very true at the same time. I hope it makes it to the top and stays there for some time as it really sends a positive message out for young girls. If you have not had a chance to see it, you can view a stream of it here: Clicky This is definitely something long overdue and all those "so called role models" like Britney, Paris

    Happy Valentine's Day!

Well I wanted to take this oppertunity to wish anyone reading this a wonderful Valentine's Day! I've always wondered about this so called holiday usually filled with flowers, hearts and chocolate and decided to pull up some fun facts about it. Here goes, hope you enjoy Long before St Valentine lived, February 14th had strong links with fertility. The date traditionally is known for when birds choose their mates. February 15th was the date of the Roman festival of Lupercalia - the Wolf - where young men held a lottery to decide which girl would be theirs. In Medieval

    I Wish You Enough

I received this in an e-mail and thought I'd like to share it with everyone. I think it has a lot of meaning, hope you enjoy reading it. Recently I overheard a mother and daughter in their last moments together at the airport. They had announced the departure. Standing near the security gate, they hugged and the mother said, "I love you and I wish you enough". The daughter replied, "Mom, our life together has been more than enough. Your love is all I ever needed. I wish you enough, too, Mom". They kissed and the daughter left. The mother walked over to the window where I wa
  12. Something I came across that I thought you'd all enjoy. Even though it's referring to women over 40 I think we all rock no matter how old or young we are! Enjoy! Andy Rooney says: As I grow in age, I value women who are over 40 most of all. Here are just a few reasons why: A woman over 40 will never wake you in the middle of the night to ask, "What are you thinking?" She doesn't care what you think. If a woman over 40 doesn't want to watch the game, she doesn't sit around whining about it. She does something she wants to do. And, it's usually something

    Winter

Well anyone who knows me knows how I dread winter; just hate it. The summer we had this past year was spectacular, something we hadn't seen in several years and I loved every moment of it. I started sitting out in the sun in mid April tanning my goose bumps but I didn't care as the winter before was so snowy and cold. We were so lucky to see the snow recede as early as it did and I for one was not going to miss a single day of sunshine basking in it's warmth and radiance. This brings me back to this winter as I had dreaded it as soon as it started to approach. Everything here gets so dre

    Crazy Neighbors

Hmm, lets see. Someone started a post about crazy next door neighbors and I thought hmm, I’ve had my fair share of a few and it's probably best to just blog about some of my experiences . Here goes, and yes, it's all true! Brooklyn- Crazy E and her teenage kids , where do I even begin? This woman had gotten an above ground pool in her yard. Every year it was the same story for about 5-6 years . They would drain the pool from the year before as the water was disgusting and smelly, no cover for the winter. They would then put the kids in the pool to scrub up the lining, which

    Update From London!

First please forgive any typos as I have had 4 hrs sleep in since Tues night with a very light 3 hrs in-between. What can I say, so far I'm having a great time although I am dead tired. I arrived yesterday at my hotel at 11 am their time (6am our) and I didn't sleep last night (I tried ) . I had walked all over the area yesterday and ended up last night at Harrods’s visiting Father Christmas (yes, I took my photo with him) and today I was all over London literally. I visited the Dungeons, saw Big Ben, Parliament, West Minister Abby, all the sites. Only went to the dungeons thou

    Remembering 9/11

"September 11th" Another anniversary is here to remind us all of a harsh tragedy that happened 4 years ago. The World Trade Center was my favorite place. Whenever I flew home the plane would always fly by it or if I was driving I'd see it from New Jersey, either way I knew that I was almost home. It was always a comfort when it was within sight and at the same time brought a feeling of excitement. I guess that being a New York City girl, I will always have a bond with this big amazing city but being that my first job was in lower Manhattan, this was my area, where I felt most comfort
  17. Well Country Fair Days are behind me again for another year, thank goodness as it is always a fun but exhausting event. Attendance was down from previous years but some of that might have been attributed to the weather. Saturday started out chilly, cloudy and windy but quickly heated up with the abundance of sun, followed by some of the heaviest downpours all within a 7 hour time period ! The one bad thing, not everyone anchored their tents, so some tried to go flying off. This is not something you want happening with that many people walking around and some poor woman did get hit by
