1 year old and pooing inside

Recommended Posts

Presley keeps pooing inside. She will poop outside then an hour later crap in the corner. We have her in an x pen when we arent home or when we are doing things she needs to be away from. Like cleaning and folding. Should I revert back to the kennel? Im soooo ready for her to be able to be trusted inside. She is 1 yr now and we still cant trust her. Ugh.

I used puppy pads to housetrain Yogi. We got him at the end of November (two years ago) as an 11-week old, and he wasn't keen on going outside when it was very cold or the least bit wet. By spring he transitioned to doing almost all his urinating outside, but he still wanted to use a pad for #2. And two years later that's still what he prefers. So that's a long winded way of saying -- would it be a big deal to just put down a pad for her to poop on? If you don't want to do that, then I think you probably do need to go back to Housetraiing 101 and crate her if she doesn't take care of all her business outside. Although that might be difficult if she's pooping two times within an hour. Maybe consider a food switch to see if she'd become more regular?

We have a pad in our bathroom in case Bosco needs to use it during the night and as with Yogi, when it's snowing or raining, he prefers the pad. We don't usually have any accidents unless he can't get to the pad for a long time. Heck he doesn't even like to go if we walk and it's raining. He keeps looking back at the house.

Presley has never used a pad. I put one down and all she does is sit on it and eat it. ugh. We are confining her more and giving her less roam free time. seems to be working so far. Yesterday she only crapped on the rug once.
