Looks like a fab walk, but there is something very wrong with your pics - you have clean feet.  That isn't how it works.  It isn't a proper walk unless you get mud and gunge and goose poo up to your elbows.  That is the law!

Bet you slept well in the car going home.  All that fresh air and sniffing.

Wish we could have come with you.  It would have been goose for tea, if we had!

I'm so glad they were on the lead, because the geese would of taken to the water and Donte and Lacey would of followed.. And I would of passed out! Lol 

Yes,  clean feet today. It was drier today, but much colder...

We had not long set off when I need a wee, lol .... We had to walk a mile before I could go. And the biting wind wasn't helping either. 

I was even thinking about going in a hedge... Nice and romantic hey!! 

They slept all the way home 

What a great afternoon had by all. If it helps any it is cold here too. Love the pictures.  One thing in my favor I can enjoy walk in the comforts of my warm home. Nothing worse then having to go wee and no place to go.......have watered a few hedges myself. Got my socks wet one time did not realize I was on an incline.........

 Nothing worse than gotta go and it's cold wind! Torture!

Oh, I nearly came close to going in the hedge.. And the more I thought about it, the more I wanted to go!

The History of Grafham Water

Grafham Water was constructed in the 1960’s to meet the demand from the new town of Milton Keynes and the rapid expansion of Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire’s existing towns. It was originally a joint project between Mid-Northants Water Board, Great Ouse Water Authority and Bedfordshire County Council but transferred to Anglian Water in 1974.

Originally called Diddington Reservoir after the little brook whose valley it flooded, it was renamed Grafham Reservoir and subsequently Grafham Water. The reservoir is on a plateau with nearly all of its water being abstracted from the River Great Ouse at Offord and pumped up to form the 1500 acre (600 hectare) lake.

HRH Prince Philip opened the reservoir’s water treatment works and the Grafham Sailing Club in 1966.

In addition to the sailing club a trout fishery and education centre were included in the original design and Sir Peter Scott opened the nature reserve at the western end.

Most of the leisure infrastructure you see today was provided in the last 19 years including a visitor centre, cycle hire and route, fishing lodge and restaurant. The water treatment works has been expanded and modernised to meet increasing demand and today’s higher quality standards.

 

 

it can get really busy when the weather warms up. But where we take them (off the beaten track) which is used by some. We can let them off and they don't get in the way of bikes, as a lot of people like to cycle around Grafham. 

Also it's a short (20 ish minutes) car journey, which will hopefully cure Lacey of her travel sickness. She was ok yesterday, so fingers crossed it wasn't a one off.

Having somewhere wonderful to look forward to at the end of the journey (not the vets!) is a good thing too.

Missy gets car sick too, it got a lot better when we got her booster seat but lately she's gotten sick again a few times. Thanks for tip on the ginger snaps Jo, I give them to her for her empty tummy problem and never thought to carry them in the car too!

Lacey had a little roast chicken with a small roast potato, small piece of roast parsnip, peas, carrots, broccoli, green beans and she cleared the lot up.. It was a small plate full. About an hour and half later we set off in the car... Now I expected to see her dinner again on the journey there. But no, she wasn't parting with any of it.. Lol 

My goodness Lacey you eat like a horse. How about whispering in Pip and Abby's ear to eat their vegetables...they hate them.

They love raw carrots too. Daddy always gives them a raw carrot when he comes in from work. They have this little routine thing going on... Lol 

I think Missy wants Lacey's plate too, sounds yummy!
