Tara:

Hahaha! Cato has gone for a snooze after all that blogging about our other walks, so now I get to tell you about our exciting walk today.  With sausage, and summer beach dens and EVERYTHING!

First we went in the car to the salt marsh beach, but then we went North to the Centre of the Universe, instead of South to my Memory Benches.

They had planted trees and poppies nearby.

This is wot we saw (it was very dark and we thought it woz going to rain)

These are the holiday park caravans.  There is a cat that lives in one, but he is never let out.  So he NEVER gets to run on the beach.  Poor cat.  Sidney would have HATED that.

This is one of my benches.

and this is another.

We went farther than ever before, and we found some summer beach dens.  I want one!  It would be fab!  Mum says they have water for drinking, and even drains.

Mum says this is a dog rose growing on the beach.  It didn't sniff.

Then we put Mum and Dad on leads and took them to the other Sausage Place, and Mum said I was to leave the bees alone and not eat them when they buzzed the purple stuff.

And this is the view from my seat at the table

and on the way back, we had a BIG drink, cos sausages make you thirsty!

Does marsh samphire grow on your marsh?

My Gran used to live near The Wash. When I stopped with her in the summer holidays we would bicycle to Holbeach Marsh and pick the samphire... I love the stuff.

Such a lovely hot day to go for a walk along the beach.

No samphire that I have ever seen.  Sadly.

But I would recognise it if I saw it - because Tescos sometimes stock it! :roflmao: and I think it is DELICIOUS!

What are the "summer beach dens"?  And what is the metal "rack" in the 10th picture - atop a brick wall.

Tara.....your sprout is looking very full!

Off to see what samphire is!

Mum:  the beach dens are summer beach huts.  People buy or rent them, then use them as beach storage.  One man was sitting outside prepping a barbecue, someone else was washing up.  Their door was open, and they had a kitchen sink and running water.

the metal rack is there to discourage people from climbing on the wall.  I think the water is shallow under that side of the bridge.

That's a good idea.....I guess.  Having a storage unit *at* the beach so you don't have to drag down all your paraphenallia:clap:.........if you go a lot.
