SUNDAY 24th July: Flowerfest III (Town Park)

Crinkly

Mum:    So, we got up early and went for a walk before breakfast today.  IT STILL got too hot, but at least by that time they were worn out and going slowly. :)

The flowers were AMAZING, and I ended up snapping so many that I need an extra blog entry so that the Mutts don't resent the floral take over:

The park rose garden from a distance, doesn't look much in this shot:

But the closeups tell a different story

Bedding displays (a bit twee for my liking, but the plants look really happy)

These are the same orange gerryanums from Foxy, but the addition of the yellow marigolds makes a big difference, don't you think?

One stray red invader!  hahahaha!

Yellow rose of sharon (I've only ever seen yellow ones round here)

My favourite flower bed in the park.  Lavender, yucca, and shrubs.  Very calming.

These red roses are in a complete ring, maybe 35 feet across, around the band stand.

:cloud9: I'm a happy girl after seeing all those flowers. The park has never looked so beautiful as it was this morning. Thank you Jo for taking the time to snap those beauties.

So very lucky to have a public place like that to enjoy.   I especially love those orange geraniums with variegated leaves.

How great to have such a pretty place to take a walk thru.........love all the pictures.  The geraniums.......wow and of course the day lily..........love looking at pictures gives me ideas on how to continue on with my gardens. We took the paws out for a ride yesterday to get them out of the house since it has been to hot for them to go outside and we went down the back roads and as soon as I would spot a garden I had Bill slow down to capture some ideas and boy did I get some......

I walked into the garden entrance of my regular grocery/department store today........right as I walked in was a shelf of orange geraniums with variegated leaves!  There were 3 and I bought all of them......heehee.  I'm going to plant them under the front bedroom window with blue Lobelias in front of them.  Hugging myself and feeling smug.:cheer::clap:
