Cato: We went to the woods today. It was soooooo lovely and cool and green and sniffy.
and these soldier people stayed here ages and ages ago.

Mum doesn't let us go to these woods very often, cos before I was born there were some dog attacks (Mum: staffordshire bullterriers, I think) and some little dogs like me got splatted. It was very sad. But that hasn't happened for ages, and it is the skool holidays and lots of families around, so Mum decided it woz safe for us. And we took Dad too.
First there is a park bit, with lots of big trees and grass and people sitting having picnics with their kids.
The people in the next pic had a Shih Tzu I wanted to meet, but they kept him on the lead ALL THE TIME, and walked away from us every time we got close.
Poor guy. The boy was holding the lead all the time and pulling him about. He wasn't allowed to sniff properly. It made me and Mum very sad.
Then there is a woody bit. The best sniffs!
Then we went round this big field, with lots of dry bits and chirrupy grasshoppers and stuff
Then more woods
We could have made dens and stuff and hunted squirrels and EVERYTHING!
When we got back to the parky bit we were ever so hot from exploring and sniffing and hunting and widdling on things.
Mum says that if trees sprout from the bottom like these are doing, then they are stressed. And she says that wot has happened is Mr Grasscutting man has cut too close around the base of the trees and damaged them. Mum wrote that bit about the trees, cos it is too complicated for me to understand.
Tara: Ooooh! it was a fab walk. All new. I have never been to these woods before! Sooo exciting.
Look, there were muddy bits
And camping spots for clambering and jumping across from lump to lump, and drinking
and TREATS
I found some dried out horse poo too! But Dad called me away before I could really investigate it.
And look at this bench! I have never seen one like this before (Mum: it is actually a beam for kids to walk along).
But I managed to jump up and up and up until I made Dad laugh cos I kept falling over the other side. But I it in the end - Look! I am balancing like a ninja ballet dancer, aren't I? It is excellent practice for our Holiday, isn't it?
Did you see the big dog standing behind Dad? When I got on the bench-beam thing, I woz taller than him! hahaha!
Then we had to walk across the hot hot grass in the sun, and Cato got all panty and floppy cos the grass woz too long for his legs and he had to bounce all the way - until Mum gave him a lift.
