Editing photo's for fun...I am not a professional and only learning as a hobby. Photo submissions welcome as I practice so I can become better and help anyone out with their photo's

I got a request....

A huge lesson coming up and it's a biggy....Well for me it is. The lesson is total restoration of a very old, damaged with cracks and color loss photograph and bring it back from to look like the day is was taken. Yeah, I did say it's a hard one.

Does anyone have any old or damaged photo from years gone by that I can practice this on? It doesn't matter is it's one or three or more...I need practice work, as my own mothers and grandmothers old photos are back home in Georgia.

Did you have any luck finding an old cracked and color loss photo?

Have had a chance to play with RAW photos?

Thank you BB for stopping by and the kind comments.  

I've played just a bit with raw files so far as I've taken a few and Sandra sent me one of Sassy Mae....but somehow I don't get a thrill out of them like I do common everyday JPEGS that people send me to practice on. It's the challenge I suppose to bring forth color and light back into tired damaged JPEGS and restore someone's memory of a special moment in time...they make me happy :) 

Photoshop is complex as you know when you just starting out..... old my gosh it's a hard program to master..But with baby steps I'm getting there slowly.

No, I haven't been send a truely damaged photo yet...hopefully in time someone will read the blog and send one in for me to learn from. I love this hobby with a passion and devote 5 hours, 7 days a week to try to put that passion into artistry...And most importantly...Make someone happy and bring a smile to their face.

Thought of you today.  Hopped in the car, driving along.  Grey sky, scattering of rain.  Sun trying to break through over to the south east - and the most beautiful rainbow I have EVER seen appeared and stayed for a long time.

Huge full double arc of colour, perfectly delineated brilliant colours.  Really wide band, so bright.  Absolutely stunning.

- and I was stuck on the road with no where to pull over, and no chance of taking a photo!

Oh that would have been glorious to capture, but your safety on the road is more important....There's always the next time ;)

Beebalm has helped me by submitted 5 really old photo's for me to practice on "Restoring Old Photo's". Here are the first two and hope they are like or close to like they orginally were when she took them. Restoring someone's memories is so special and I thank her for helping me.

Will repost them, I had moved them to another folder...and now it's not pointing to that folder...be right back

Yeah thanks, can see them now and I think you did an amzing job. You often have that brownish colours with those old photo`s.Before pictures were vague you made them sharp.. beautiful wow..going real good fantasticsmiley.gif last picture..the ocean is very inviting there..I want to lay down there with a tropical cocktail in my hand with straw! :DLove what you did with the colours..

Completed three sets out of Beebalms photo's...Thanks for the practice work also

One was a magnificent fail as I couldn't do anything right with it and ended up...well you will spot the difference with the replacement added and the sky is just not good.....Still a lot to learn
