SATURDAY 8th October: Town roses. Again.

Cato:

Mum says some of you have horrible stormy weather at the moment, and we are veryveryvery lucky to have sun and a park to walk in.  So we are sending you all these boring flower pics to cheer you up, if you have storms.  Mum says she can't send you actual sniffy roses, so this is the next best thing.

We went to Town Park, and obviously, this is the first and deepest and bestest sniff!  You can have all the sun and flowers.  We will keep the sniffs.

This one was as we walked into the park.  Mum says we should be appreciating the contrast of colours and the lovely tones of the brickwork.  Yeah.  Right.  Come on!  Sniffs incoming!

Of course she took us to the rose garden.  Looks pretty wimpy and feeble from here, doesn't it?  Only of course she went and picced all the flowers, while Dad and us did interesting stuff. :spoton:

Considering it is October, they are still doing well with the flowery stuff, aren't they?

We did some squirrel hunting too!  Can you see him on the tree?  He can climb right up it!  All verti-crawling.

This is when we found a bench for Dad to give us water and treats.  We had to show him, cos he hadn't noticed it.

This was when Tara got bored and bounced.  See my ears?  I wasn't taking it with flat ears, was I?  Ha!

Mum says these are all to show you how things are getting old and yellow and crisp.  She uses different words, like mellow and golden.  But basically it just means that we have to walk on all the rustly bits of tree that fall off, don't we?

Tara hasn't said anything today, cos she is in the front room with Dad.  He is watching football, and she is snuggled up with him.  She thinks being with her Dad is more important than our blog.  But Mum and me are at the computer cos we know you need to have a nice blog today, with boring flower stuff, on account of your storm.

Actually, Tara had a pretty bad day.  We went round to see Pops and Nanna before our walk, and Pops was out, with Rolly their HUGE Jack Russell.  Well when they came in, Rolly came rushing in to see us, and we were in his house.  He was nice about it.  Waggy tail, and sniffing, but it surprised Tara and she went all squeaky and flat on her back.

Then later when we were on the park, Tara saw our usual picnic table bench thing, and went up to it, but it had a big white boxer underneath it, wot she didn't see!  And he came rushing out, pulling on his lead, growling and everything.  And Tara panicked and tried to climb up Mum.

The people at the table larffed at her.  That isn't very nice, is it?

Anyway, she is sleeping it off, so she should be better soon.  It didn't put her off her tea.  At all.

Oooh thank you!  :cheer: very chuffed with you saying that!

Todays pics were actually all taken on my iphone - which is pretty amazing, isn't it?  I completely forgot to pic up the camera, so had to make do...  If I had used the camera, the pics would have been warmer looking, but not quite as crisp.

Oooh thank you sooo much for the gorgeous rose pics and the fall leaves are beautiful too! It rained hard all day here yesterday and it was a cold rain, thought it would snow any minute! ;) high winds today so it's great to see some nice warm flower pics! Thank you thank you! Tara I'm so sorry to hear about your day, I'm glad you're ok sweetie. I can guarantee that football and dad will make everything all better! :throb::pash:

Poor Tara!  I'm sorry the boxer scared you.  That really isn't very nice!  I love all of the pics of the flowers.  They really do look great considering the time of year.

Mum:  I think they were probably the last roses of the summer. :(

Since then, we have had several days of heavy rain, and I expect they have all collapsed into soggy messes. :(
