MONDAY 10th October: Autumn is here
Cato:
Mum has been watching me for my Autumn Snuffles. And she thought this morning that they might have arrived. So today I had my special Snuffle Tablet (in cheese!!!) before our walk, and I haven't been snuffling at all. Not sure why Tara had cheese too though. She doesn't get snuffles, so why does she get cheese?
Anyway it was a great walk. See:
This is my favourite poo spot. I didn't need to today. But I always think about it.
Tara wanted us to stop at this bench, but I knew Dad wouldn't. He has got his purposeful look on, hasn't he? We had to wait for ages for our drink, treat and Truffle Hound. But we didn't mind. It was a fabulously sniffy day. Of course Mum was squeaking about 'the light!' and 'the leaves!' and 'the clouds!' but we were doing the proper stuff. The sniffing and the widdling and the checking out for pigeons and foxes and beetles and other paw widdles, and meeting other paws. Important stuff.
More tree stuff. Colours. Yawn.
but best of all, I was running and bouncing through all the dead tree stuff and not snuffling! And no snotting either! Last year I was all moo- mooky- muucussy and Mum got very worried about me, cos I felt so ill. Today I was BOUNCING.
Mum took these skypics especially for you, AuntiePipsMom. She says you can have the sky, but please look at the leaf colours too.
Tara:
This is me and Dad on the step mountain. Cato woz there too. But I got there first!
These two came and said hello while we were playing Truffle Hound. One was called Fergie, I think. I stayed up on the bench while they sniffed Cato's bottom. I don't know how he stays so calm. He didn't even stop drinking!
Don't I look cute?
And Cato says you have to look at his boring tail, too. He has been fussing about it for days. And Mum has done some skisser stuff on it. And now it is really short and stubby, but he wants you to know that is isn't going to fall off any more. Or something.
Mum:
They have planted up the beds with stuff for the winter. What do you think these are? Pansies? I am not sure
Sunlight through the foliage
even the hosta is getting into the spirit of Autumn
amazingly, there are still a few valiant roses. Doubly impressive, because yesterday was torrential downpour for about 4 hours. It was so dark and gloomy that the rain was coming down in stair rods. Don't know how any flowers survived the battering. Yet today, we are greeted by these joyous blooms.
And look, that massacred rose is still budding. I think it is going to be red. And can you see the greenfly? Hahahaha!
