WEDNESDAY 26th October: Bear Woods and MUD

Crinkly

Cato:

So today Mum took us to Bear Woods.  It was GREAT.

This is First Sniff:

and this is a nice Spaniel who wasn't listening to his Mum at all.  She was shouting and shouting, and he was sniffing and sniffing.

Today we went the other way round from normal, so all the sniffs came in the reverse order.  It was fun!

Just along here we met a lady from Mum's work, with her friend and two children.  We were excellent Shih Tzu ambassadors, Mum says.  The boy doesn't like dogs, but he liked me, and he gave us both treats, and he asked if he could pick us up.  Mum said she thought we would prefer to have our paws on the ground, so he crouched down and got on our level instead.  He was nice.  So was the girl, but she is used to Staffies, so she knew she liked us from the start.

No donkeys here, either...

This is Tara doing her Balleticals.

I am looking back at Mum and rolling my eyes

Bear%20woods%20020_zpsx686xaj6.jpg

And look here.  She found some mud.  And she HAD to walk through it.  Three times!  I walked around.

And again.  She is really weird, isn't she?

Bear%20woods%20027_zpsq2o8k39b.jpg

I got stuck

Bear%20woods%20028_zpsu6mhamdb.jpg

And I was REALLY stuck.  And I asked Mum to come and help.

But to everyone's surprise, Tara came to help.

But then she got bored and wandered off

Bear%20woods%20031_zps5aq3s58w.jpg

And I was very worried, and I didn't know what to do.

But it was OK, cos Mum came and helped me.  She lifted me up onto the log, and then encouraged me to jump down onto the Mum-side.  I didn't want to do it, cos I don't like heights, and I don't like jumping down onto new surfaces, but I knew I had to be brave, and Mum was there, so I did.  And then we carried on our walk.  Mum says I am a hero.  And she gave me a big treat after my jump.

We found some more mud.  Which I walked around, and Tara walked across.

Mum says I have to show you this pic, cos Tara looks so cute.  I would like to point out that her hair is because she attacked me, not cos I attacked her.

This is at the end, when we were both tired

But I wasn't too tired to go Fu Dogging at Tara when she tried to bounce once too often!  Ha!  I told her good!

Oooo I did enjoy watching your walks in Bear Woods :ohyeah:  It is quite lovely through there especially now that the leaves are dropping. All that mud Tara..bet you did love marching through it repeatedly so it squished between your toes :roflmao:

Had a huge smile seeing your top knot half down...no matter... your just so darn cute I can't help but smile when I see you. And brother Cato....He is looking very dashing lately...brave  boy jumping off that log! Good boy little man! :thumb:

Tara - you will have to explain Balleticals.....I assume you go for ballet classes regularly and are raising legs onto the barre, watching in the mirror and perfecting your pose.  Doesn't look to me like you are "practicing"........

My favorite part of the walk is Cato getting captured in the trap of downed tree limbs .  Now Cato.....you got IN there....right?  Then you should be able to figure out how to get ....out!  And you did with encouragement from Mom!  Maybe next time Mom can show you the lowest part of the limb to scramble over and it will be easy-peasy to jump over/down.

Tara.....with all those mud pedicures - you should have the softest, smoothest pads in the kingdom!

I love how you did your walk in reverse order today. It wouldn't be a walk without mud, would it. Lol.

How did you get between those fallen tree trucks?

The Fu dogging looked great Cato... have you been practicing for long?

Tara:  Well, I WOULD do all that ballety stuff, AuntieMarlene, only Mum won't get me a tutu, so I can't.

Not fair!  is it?

And I have perfick poise already.  So that bit is EASY!

Mum looked at my paw pads last night, and they are very, very, lovely, she says.

Cato:  It is a bit puzzley AuntieMarlene and AuntieAngel, cos yes I did get INTO the stuck bit.  And that part was quite easy.  But then it all seemed to get higher and higher, and everywhere I looked it was too high.  Mum says there was a low bit I could have used, but I was in a bit of a worry-tizz in case Mum went off without me, so I got a bit confuddled and I didn't see it.

But Mum came and helped me, so it was all OK.  And Mum says that we will look harder for a low bit, next time, and we won't do it when I am in a tizz.

I'm glad you were both good ambassadors!

Sometimes I think Shih Tzus aren't dogs, they are something else, something more magical :cloud9:

Is this any good?  It was back in the summer, so the light is much harder and greener

it isn't the same stretch of path, i am afraid

Oh Yes!  Thank you I'll move them to the fall scene.

I got a highly complicated Fantasy scene in mind with a Fairytale atmosphere  ....playing with light and pixie dust, transparencies etc.

Excited about this new level of learning. Your photography really sets my imagination of fire and thank you for helping me along by writing your blogs with pictures in such beautiful places.

haha!  thank you - but all we do is wander around with a camera, with me snapping anything that moves.  OR stays still long enough for me to notice it. ;)

The real inspiration isn't me, the photos or the mutts, it is Nature in all her glory. :)

Looks like a fabulous walk!  Tara, you kill me with walking through the mud.  Coco like to walk through water but Benji doesn't like it.  He walks around if he can like Cato does the mud.  Love that fu manchu stuff you two have going on there at the end. :judy:  Never too tired to play!
