FRIDAY 4th November: Weird Walk

Crinkly

Mum:

Photobucket is now back online, so have gone back through and added the pics. :)

Tara:

We had two breakfasts and two teas and two dinners today!!!!  I have never had so many foods!  I LOVE Cato being ill !!!

He had stinky fish.  And I had proper food.  But it was titchy little bits of it.  I wanted the fish too, and Cato wanted my proper stuff, but Mum wouldn't let us swap. :(

Tomorrow we are going to have fish and pumpkin with slippery elm.  Wotever that is.

And me and Mum went for a walk too.  Cato didn't come.  He thought he was going to come, but Dad picked him up and they went into the front room to watch snooker.  Walks are better than snooker aren't they?

I did bounce on him, when we got back, but he was still all floppy and pathetic, so it got boring.

Our walk wasn't much fun, really.  All the sniffs were the same, but it isn't nice to be in such a small pack.  Me and Mum aren't enough to feel safe.  Cato makes me feel safer, even though he is a wimp, he never gets bothered.

This woz me hunting a black pigeon.  Can you see it all scared and blurry, by the path.  Cato would have been sooo impressed with my huntingness!

We met Georgie again.  Cato would have liked that too.

I had to keep an eye out for Danger, cos it was just Mum and me.

We are sleeping downstairs again tonight! Yay!!!  And there have been exciting banging flashing stinky firework popping noises.  I'm hoping the noises carry on after Mum is asleep, cos she won't be able to stop me barking then, will she?  Haha

Cato:

Hello Aunties.  Mum says I am well enough to dictate my blog today, but I need to keep it short, so I can go back to sleep.

I am very hungry.  Mum keeps giving me little bits of fish, but I want bigger bits.  And nice smelling stuff.  I am only eating the fish cos I am sooooooo hungry.

My tummy doesn't hurt any more.  That is good, isn't it?

Can I go for a walk tomorrow?

Mum:

Perfectly camouflaged mushrooms. :)

Hardly any leaves left on this tree...

These pics are me trying to communicate how changeable the weather was!  We were walking around the big grass square, and every time I turned a corner, the sky looked completely different.  And when I went round a second time, it had changed again!

All taken at around 1 o'clock in the afternoon!

Cato is doing sooooo much better, but he is still rather wobbly, doesn't want to play, and is sleeping nearly all the time.

Yes, he gets low blood sugar if he goes too long without food.

This is the first time that I haven't managed to make him eat (didn't try cos I was fasting him for 24 hrs) and have been very interested to see that after a while, he stopped the shivering, and settled.  I did keep him warm on my lap.

So I am guessing that like humans (same thing happens to me when I low blood sugar, which has happened the whole of my life) his own little body sorts itself out.  There is a complex blood sugar regulation system that should be in place for all of us, balancing appetite, food intake, blood glucose, and the release of glucose from storage whether as glycogen in the liver, or more slowly from fat storage.

I was very glad to see that his body did what it was supposed to do - and sorted out its own balance. :)

He is doing fantastically.  I am so impressed.

His appetite has come back, with a vengeance.  Last night he found a forgotten pig's ear, and I let him have it for about 10 mins.  His enthusiasm and delight were wonderful.

And this morning he has been so positive and bouncy we took both mutts with us for breakfast.  Just got back.  Will blog it later.

I know I was not supposed to give him anything but fish, but he had one tiny piece (a cubic centimetre) of gluten free sausage, and a couple of hundred yards walk on the prom.  Now we are back, he is humping his bed - a sure sign that he is back to feeling good! :roflmao:
