MONDAY 14th November: Squelchy gloopy glorious...
MUD!!!
Aunties!!! It has arrived. Look!
This is near where we started. The path is all dry and hard still.
but when I saw this puddle, it started to look like the long wait woz over...
and then we did this long straight bit, and Mum walked on the grass, and we walked on the almost-mud. Cos, you know, it might be the best we could find...
and Cato wanted to go that way. And I wanted to go this way, and Mum did wot I wanted for maybe the first time EVER EVER EVER!
and the almost-mud turned into just-mud, the further we went...
and mum was doing that funny mud-waddle that humans do, that is sooooo sllloooooowwwww, so I have to run backwards and forwards over the mud to make sure Mum hasn't stopped, and I get the mud right into my toes...
and then, there it woz
wot I have been waiting for AGES and AGES and AGES, ever since it got all hot and dry and stuff
MUD!!!
(I know you have seen it already, but I will show you again, cos it is sooooo FAB!)
isn't it lovely?
That woz the best bit of the walk.
Cato can tell you the rest, cos nothing else comes close.
Cato:
So we were walking along, and we saw this.
and we were really quite worried.
Mum was worried that someone was hurt, and I was worried that they would eat their picnic before I got there, and Tara was worried there wouldn't be any more mud (there wasn't, by the way).
but it turned out to be REALLY WEIRD.
- The boy was sitting on the ground, which was wet.
- And the lady was kneeling and going through the contents of a carrier bag, on the ground. It didn't sniff of food.
- And round the corner on the right there were two large Labradors, one golden, one black, tied to a tree. And they growled at us.
So we walked past, and everyone smiled, and Mum decided she didn't need to ask if they were OK, cos they obviously were.
And I didn't sniff anything interesting from the bag.
And then they were behind us.
It is weird, isn't it?
I think all the other pics are Mum's boring arty ones, so I will just tell you that my jumper is now so muddy Mum has taken it to wash and it was a nice walk. Not too crispy cold, or blowy, and a nice distance. I didn't need a lift or anything. And as you can see, we got our feet really BLACK, which was nice.
And I was quite bouncy
but the birds were hiding on the floaty thing - or else it would have been gull for tea!
Mums pics:
Dry seed heads. Last year these hung on until late spring the next year... shall we see how long they last this time?
