SUNDAY 20th November: All Better!

Crinkly

Cato:   Mum doesn't want me to tell you this.  She says it is too early to tell you.

but I can't help it!  It is SUCH good news I want to tell you all about it!

You know I have had icky ears?  Ever since Mr Vet gave me antiBO stuff when he should have given me antiHisty things?  And then my ears got yeasty sore.  And then other Mr Vet gave me ear stuff, but my ears were still a bit yeasty.   For ages.  And Mum had to clean them every week.  Yuck!  It was cold and slimey.  And smelly.  And I didn't like it!

But my ears are ALL BETTER now !!!  Yay!!!  No more stinky yeasty ears!!!

Mum:  ever since we stopped giving Cato those Sausage Place sausages, his ears have been improving.  Day by day, less wax, and less yeasty smell.  It is as though they are self-cleaning now.  It is amazing.  Today, they actually looked completely clear! After 2+ years of ongoing recurring ear aggro.

i can only assume that the wheat, or gluten, or something in those Sausages was triggering some sort of immune system/allergy reaction.  And - to top it all - I think he may have lost a little weight, too.  Which is bizarre, because with all the bad weather we've been having, they haven't been walking as much.

the irony is that their entire diet is raw, except for dried meat treats and (recently) Himalayan chews.  Those sausages were the only processed stuff they ate - and he  got less than half a sausage a week.  Amazing how such little things can have such an insidious effect, isn't it?

Hmmmmm food for thought here... no pun intended.

Lacey has been having a little hotdog sausage recently , I wonder if there's a connection there..,

i suppose the only way to find out, is leave it off for a bit and then introduce again and see what happens.

Good new for Cato........bless you .......this has not been a good time for you this past few weeks. Amazing how certain foods can cause such reactions to our system.....even a small amount. I have come to the realization that even though as much as you like to give them a selection of different foods to eat it is better to limit it especially if you have paws that are prone to food allergies. My guys like turkey dogs a lot.....I found a brand that does not have all the junk in it and one day for mid noon treat I still  had a good quality beef hot dog on hand and gave to them instead and 3 out of the 7 had a reaction to it.......back to the turkey dogs......

Cato:  Mum says my ears now smell exactly the same as Tara's ears.   Non yeasty.  Ewww!  I don't want to have girlie smelling ears!  Anyway, Tara is all stinky!  Mum says she is counting the minutes to our Spa Day on Friday.

Tara:  Am NOT stinky!  It is just we haven't been out for a walk in days and days and days...

Mum: Since Saturday

Tara: ...so I can't help it if I have a bit of perfickly natural eau de boredom!

Cato: Yeah!  Bored stinkiness!  Mum says if it ever stops raining, we will go and run through some wet grass, which should wash off some of someone's stinkiness!  Hahaha!

That's great. What a blessing to finally have nice clean ears. It is amazing how food affects us (dog and humans!)
