SATURDAY 26th November: Supervising new shed roof

Crinkly

Cato:

It was VERY exciting.  We had to get up early, cos Mr Roof was due before breakfast!  And Mum and me went out to do a last poo pick up.  Good thing we did too, cos Mr Roof and his friend Mr Hat came early.  And they opened the back gate.  And we got to meet them.  But then we had to come inside and not get in the way.  Not that we would have.  Mr Hat said he wanted to take me home with him.  And Mr Roof laughed at Tara's topknot.  I liked them both.

For some reason the cat flap stopped working!  It was very worrying.  We had to supervise from inside.  But it is working OK again now.

This wot the shed looked like when we woke up.

These are the roof pics that Mum took.  She says I have to tell you that those are NOT poos on the gravel.  They are leaves from the tree 2 doors over.  They blew in with the storm.  And everything blew about too.  She is a bit embarrassed by the mess the garden is in, and needs to have a bit of a tidy up. :)

She also says that after 6 months of roof trauma, and 3 different workmen letting us down, we can now relax for the winter.  I was relaxed anyway, but I am glad that Mum is relaxed too now. :)

Tara:

I didn't really like the men.  They were all tall and busy and one of them larffed at me.  But we went out for a walk to Find Dad after, and that was much more fun.

We walked all the way to where he gets off the train. And we met a nice lady conductor who has a Jack Russell who doesn't like the cold.  I don't like the cold.  Mum said we had to wear our winter coats today, and I am glad.  Mine is RED, and goes with my lead.  Although Mum says she is going to adjust the shoulder fit a bit, cos it is made for a paw with a very odd neck.

So we knew where we were going as soon as Mum turned down the Finding Dad Road, and then we pulled and pulled cos we knew where he would be.  And we got there before him, but that was OK.  I whined a bit, and Mum said 'Psst!' and nudged me with her toe, but I was all excited and couldn't help it.  And there was a drunk man on the platform, but he didn't come near us.

Then Dad arrived, and I bounced and bounced.  And then we walked along to the posh french Sausage Place and sat outside cos all the inside paw tables were full of people who didn't have paws with them!  Not fair!  Paws should get pri - prying - orrity, shouldn't we?

Nobody else wanted to sit outside with us.  Coz of the cold and damp.  But I woz OK in my RED coat. :)

And then when we left, it was all foggy, and we only got home through the foggy stuff cos I led the way and knew my infallibbly homing pigeony route home.  Cato just followed along.  It woz all me, you know.  And some lady went all mushy and silly over Cato and squeaked and wanted to cuddle the lickle Imperial.  And Mum did her 'he's not an Imperial.  He is a runt.  The rest of his family are normal size.  Imperials are just bad breeding.'  And the woman went away.  Haha!

This is the fog starting.  It got a lot worse, but Mum didn't pic it, cos it doesn't pic.  It woz just boring grey stuff.  Mum says it rolled in like a horror film.

I for one......am going to miss the saga of the shed roof :-(

Yes me too. Had many a laugh over that roof. Glad it's all sorted for winter.

You garden looks ok. I've got leaves from nextdoors ash tree in my garden, but the grass is too wet and boggy to get on it and rack them up.

I too agree the shed roof saga will be greatly missed.......the layout of the tape in a maze formation was quite interesting. Your court yard garden looks fine especially for this time of year.  You still have a lot of green showing........curious the cream colored building behind is that attached or a separated building?  Cato and Tara great job done on supervising.......those gentlemen would have not got the job done without you not being their to keep an close eye on them.

The cream building is the back and side of another house - identical to ours (all these terraced houses are identical, built around 1910) but built on a stree that is at right angles to ours.

our gate opens into a small alley that runs behind our house, and along the side of the cream house and garden.

The whole area was Sidney Cat's territory.

Yes.  Sidney would have been most affronted!  Mr Roof was actually walking on the shed roof.  Now that is cat territory, isn't it?  No human should be trespassing there!

I love it! "He's not an Imperial.  He is a runt." :judy: You tell 'em Mum!  Tara, I'm sorry the man larffed at you but it is probably because he thought you are just so adorable!

The roof made me think of Sidney, too!  I agree that he would have been most upset with the man walking on his roof.  The roof looks great though!
