Tara:  Wossat?  Is that...?

Cato:  I think so!  Look!  There's your stinky bed in it.  And your name.  In PINK!

Tara: Cor!  And look.  There's your name in GREEN.  And your stinky bed.  And... look... there are treats on it.

Cato:  Where!  Where are MY treats?  Gerroff!  Go sniff your own treats!  Go on!  Shoo!

Mum:  This was only a trial run tonight.  The beds are only going to stay here til they have stopped smelling of wood oil.  Then they will be moved into the other rooms.  But I think they are going to be happy...

I made 4 in all, 2 for the front room, and 2 for by my computer.  And I have ordered 2 more snuggly cushions, so they can get REALLY comfy.

They look OK, don't they?  I did consider painting and varnish, and so on, but then I really looked at them, and decided that they had real history, and it would be a pity to sanitise that away.  Thought the paws would appreciate the whole ancient sniffiness.

They are actually genuine French apple crates, anywhere from 20 to 60 years old.  When they arrived, they still smelled of apples.  lol.  All I did was cut out the fronts, brush them with a stiff brush, vacuum them.  sand them as little as possible.  Treat them with a gentle mildew killer (safe for pets), and a wood oil (safe for pets).  That's it.  I really didn't want to lose their rustic feel.

I LOVE them!  They are fantastic!  Great job!  I think Tara and Cato are going to love them!  I don't blame you for trying to preserve as much of the original look as possible.  That rustic feel is what makes me so unique and perfect.

Cato:  yes!  I did lose some weight. @auntieJo-Anne.  Mum says it is cos I am not eating Gluten sausages any more, and I got my waist back.  But I am a bit bald too, on account of MrsGroomer's buzzy thing.    But then it could also be because Mum doesn't feed us enough.  Tara says she is starving ALL the time!

@CrinklyMeant to ask you where did you find their colorful alphabet name tags?

Did you make them or buy them in what type of store?

They are so unique! :)
