  1. Finally! We are developing some habits here in the land of house training! Hurray! We are definitely getting to know each other better. It's been a great week at home bonding with Lewis. He has been now regularly peeing on the pee pad, and barking at the door to go out for poo! I think that is pretty good for 11 weeks old, 1 week at home? And we go poo on the pebble path beside the house where there is less distraction than the back lawn. Also he doesn't get as wet as when the grass is dewy. And he has been sleeping through the night in his crate several nights now. Usually 9:30 - 6:00.

  2. Most puppies hate the leash initially, but leash training is a necessity. Just keep at it and he'll eventually understand. Giving tiny treats for walking ahead might help, or a favorite toy. Vicki

  3. Of course he does. Few puppies enjoy being restrained in any way. You have to teach them to like/tolerate the leash. Puppies here drag their leashes around inside. A lot. So much that they get to the point that they don't even think about it.

  4. I agree with Vicky, in the beginning they don`t like it. Make it fun to go out with liitle treats at the right moment. I put the harness on the ground so that he can step into it, fasten it, leash is allready on it en go, good luck!

  6. My suggestion would be is to add the leash to his collar and let him wear it in the house when you are around. It is called Tough Love, you do not give in.........one day he will suprise you and go on like he is King of the Leash!!! Your the boss, he is the little darling. I know you want him to be happy.......but he will be growing up and you want to teach him now at this young age before it is even more difficult to break him in. YOU CAN DO IT...........

  9. You need to work on leash training (see posts in other thread) so that you can take him out on leash. Left to their own devices outside, puppies often find much more interesting things to do than take care of bodily functions. So much more interesting that it doesn't even occur to them to pee/poop. If you can leash them up and walk them around, then going outside becomes a much more purposeful activity. Plus you can work on getting him to go in the same smallish area. Once you get some smells etabliished in that area, the smells will trigger him to go again. Once he does his business th
