  1. Sounds like they've figured out how to wrap you around their little paws! Sorry! Tuff Love is probably the best way to go particularly if you know then don't really need out since you saw the go shortly before. Maybe try distracting them with something fun to do inside? Toys, treats, loving??? All five of mine hate to go outside when it's wet and particularly when it's raining. Ebony and Panda now feel that the "doggie door" is for the Puppies and NOT them (or that they're just too good to go out in the puppies area). They will just "put the brakes on" at the other door. 2. I've just let them out 10 minutes ago and they both went for a wee, 10 minutes later she asking to go out...so I told her she's been out, done a wee and she's not going for a while. I don't know how much of that she understood, if anything. But she's now laying by my feet asleep....

  3. I've had my babies 12 weeks now. They have never woken me up in the night, even when I they needed the toilet they would just go in the kitchen. As I have said before, for a few weeks now they have been very good going through the night and we haven't had any accidents. Wait for it... Lacey kindly woke me up at 1am this morning. I'm not really sure why. So I let them out to go toilet and they both went wee straight away. I put them back in the kitchen. No talking, I wanted them to understand it's not play time at 1am in the morning... Anyway, I'm soooooo grumpy when I'm woken up ab

  4. Me again... lol My two have learnt to sit at the back door to and ask to go out. Now Lacey mostly scratches but will give a gently oof as I call it, it's not quite a woof... And Donte will oof to ask to go out. On lots of occasions now, Lacey is asking to go out more frequently now. When I let her out I can see she would rather play, try and get in the fish pond for a drink, play with Donte, just for a mooch around the garden, bark at the birds, bark at their own shadow, something else's shadow, or just bark! Lol Now I wouldn't mind but it's so wet and cold outside and they keep

  7. I thought it would be neat if we would do a Christmas Cookie Recipe Swap since we live so far apart from one another to do the traditional cookie swap........... This is one of many of my favorite cookies: Mom's Buttermilk Cookies 1/2 Cup butter, softened 1 Cup sugar 1 egg 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup buttermilk In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; add to the creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk, be

  8. Haha do you know, I'm sure you're right I haven't rushed to let them out today. Although I am keeping a mental note of when they last went to the toilet and I'm making a judgement as to when I think they might need to go, but I'm trying to time their toileting at the same time they are still asking to go. There is a small part of the lawn that gets slightly waterlogged when we have a lot of rain or heavy rain. The water just sits on the top... What did my two do... Go paddling in it lol You've been a great help, thank you :)

  9. I know our little fur babies are sensitive to our emotions and moods but I am curious about how other pups react. When Max hears raised voices...or even tense ones...he shakes and cries and wants to be held (by me). Now my DH and I are not yellers and we get along very well...but you can all relate I am sure...sometimes we disagree. Max gets extremely upset :-( The other day while we were out walking, a couple was having a heated argument and he took OFF! Of course he was on a lease but it took several blocks before he settled back down. As he is a rescue, I question if something in h

  11. I have eaten a few myself but found them too dry for me?!? Depending on the size you cut up your treats, you might want to half the recipe if you're only feeding for one! babybluegirl 10:52pm

  12. Wouldn't it be WONDERFUL if they could talk? Max's Dad says that all the time. I think our little rescue guys especially would say 'thank you!'. We had a big lovable baby of a lab years ago who had been horribly abused as a puppy. He was kicked (two broken legs), thrown into the lake from a boat and left to swim to shore, beaten with a stick, left tied with no food or water...etc. it was my neighbor who did this and we did everything we could to save him. I started getting him every day and keeping him with me. I was threatened with the police and more! I was very pregnant at the time but

  13. As a Mom to rescues I have 4 that do not handle well to loud voices. Bailey, Missy, Winnie and Lucy do not do well with loud voices......Bailey will bark and be on the attack.......Winnie just barks and runs around in circles.......Missy and Lucy run under the bed. The hubby and I got into a discussion one day and our voices were on the loud side with one another and the reaction of the way the guys acted got our attention and we change the tone of our voices where Bailey and Winnie calmed down, it took Missy and Lucy awhile before they came out of hiding. So I do beleive that it does bring b
