  1. For dry paw pads I recently got and am very happy with: Dermoscent Bio Balm Skin Repairing Care for Dogs http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0035MPSQ6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 We have hardwood floors and I've always had problems with the dogs slipping on the floors after using other products. I've not had this problem after using this product on Missy's paws and it also has done a very good job on healing the dryness from the cold weather.

  3. I have the basket at the front, she is connected with the leash, however when she sees a bird, she will get very wild and I have to hold the leash with one hand. I now want to get something for over the basket, so she can see through it, but it is more safe. The dog just has to get just to it, unfortunally Gizmo likes to hunt. Love to see your pictures, when you get the basket. (Sorry about the English, I find it difficult to express myself, I tought it would be easier, but maybe along the way i'll get the hang of it.)

  4. Those both sound great! Since I no longer bake Christmas cookies (too many decades of making dozens upon dozens of 5 or 6 different ones led to burnout), you are certainly welcome to send me some!

  5. That face comb is like the one I have. Very similar to a flea comb too. It's my favorite for getting out those tiny cotton balls too and for under the eyes. Vicki

  6. I have not tried the bath mat. Good idea!! I had a double sided comb but it was not user friendly for me. Waiting for my Bass Wooden Pin brush to arrive....... I was going to order the Chris Christensen Peace and Kindness and read that it is to be used for hot spots, cuts ect. Can be used around nose, mouth and eyes. Does it help stop the tearing and or the staining? Am I looking at the right product?

  9. Thanks everyone for your replies I bet the weight with Riley in the front will feel strange! Will get my husband probably to have him on his bike as he's stronger and will be easier for him to ride than it would for me lol. I might suggest getting this soon so Riley can get used to it up and down quiet areas before riding along the seafront, in the woods etc! I will be sure to take photos, I do plenty of that already and don't need another excuse for that. Off to bed now, babybluegirl 10:48pm

  12. Yes I love it for under the eyes! For some reason it works alot better than a flea comb for Missy, maybe cuz it's not as wide? Who knows I'm just glad it works!!

  13. Paws4Me I love your siggy pic of Yogi too! I'm lurking in this thread because Mr. T has started barking at passerby outside, so I'm looking for tips too. So far I've been trying to call him over and tell him "shhh" and give him a treat each time he starts barking at the window. I've been trying to be careful to say "shhh" for a few seconds and then pause briefly while Mr. T is sitting quietly in front of me so hopefully he associates the treat with the "shhh" and not with the barking at the window.

  14. I had a front basket for my two boys years ago. A Shih Tzu and a Maltese (Teddy and Pudge respectively). It was a milk crate actually and my husband bolted it to the front of the bike. I put some carpet in the bottom and shortened a couple leashes so the dogs could be clipped in (under a foot each so they couldn't jump out). My boys LOVED IT! My two daughters and I would bike ride every evening and I would ride with them to school sometimes as well. You will need to get used to Riley's weight in the front and his moving around...mine would also bark at passing dogs so it could get challenging

  15. You say that he snaps at people who want to touch him. The vet says he's guarding you. So clarify this for us -- Does he snap at people only when you're close? Or does he do it if you're a good distance away from him? Also, is he on the floor when he snaps or on furniture? Does it occur when people are bending over him, reaching down? W/o waiting for those answers, I would recommend you start implementing Nothing In Life Is Free if you're not already doing it. It's a great program all around - helps teach a dog his place in the home and family while at the same time building

  16. IMO being that he was removed from the home of a horder he did not have a lot of human contact other than his owner. With my 6 rescues when strangers come into the house I ask them to ignore them and allow them to come to you and if they show they want to interact then please feel free to pet. My Missy goes and hides under the bed until they leave, Bailey will bark from a distance until I pick him up but he will not allow anyone to touch him at all......it is trust issues. Winnie the same way she does not warm up to people now Lucy and Allie will jump in your pocket if they were big enough. Le

  17. Wow Bella is beautiful no wonder you fell in love with her! Missy doesn't snap at people that come in the house but she does bark endlessly at them and won't go near them either, she too is a rescue. It's so hard to know what they've been through in their past and what memories they are dealing with. I go with the advice to let her approach them when she's ready. I just tell people she's a rescue and luckily so far everyone understands and doesn't try to push her. Interestingly enough she doesn't do this when we are out, just in our home. When we take her shopping to the doggie st
