  1. Primrose oil, i use a few drops to mix with spray cond. But for thicker hair about a teaspoon when bathing.i find it helps with giving more shine to coat, nourishing too over a period of time.but then not all dogs react the same way, its matter of trial and error...

  2. I took Winnie and Lucy out and about for the day a couple of weeks ago and they had their padded harness on.......what a mess when we got home. Well first they looked so unkept because of the harness but brushing them out when we got home was not fun. It was not bad but not fun...........What kind of lead should I be looking for......they do not use collars either due to the hair.....I did see a leash that had a collar of the same thickness.....very narrow and beaded. But does the hair snag in between the beads? Should I be looking for a narrow nylon lead......still want to be able to secure t

  3. I'm going to give this a try on GingerSnap. I bathed her yesterday and she looked like a giant frizzy ball afterwards. I need more humidity here! Thanks so much for the post AND I already have some Primrose oil too! Vicki

  4. The owner of www.foxypups.com, Cindy Hice made me a silk step in harness. I found her at yorkietalk and spoiledmaltese when Snickers had a bad matting episode after he came back from a 2 day stay at his sitter. So far so good.

  5. Vicki do you mind giving the measurements of the lead that you have posted? Am I looking at it right...does it have 4 sections? I looked for tutorials but they were crap and not at all like yours. I would really prefer to make them over buying them. Plus the size of the cording too.......

  6. I use the type of leashes you mention with the beads. (The kind I make.) I've never noticed the hair catching in the beads, but the beads are quite a ways away from the dog. I do periodically toss the leashes in the crates when traveling to shows, and I've still never noticed dog hair attached. Vicki

  7. I'll be watching this for a answer too. I've been dissatisfied for sometime now. Harness makes knots and matts ..... neck collar a no no..silly sod pulls and chokes and coughs too much...scares me

  8. The four of these that I ordered showed up last Friday! I LOVE them. They are way to huge for doggie treats though, even for a Great Dane! Even a bit too large for HUMAN cookies! Vicki

  9. Thanks for that tip! They all help. Bath before last, I decided to try a leave in Coconut Oil rinse on GingerSnap. Boy was that a BIG mess! I could hardly get her combed out and "almost" bathed her again to get it out, but didn't. After I initally got her combed out almost three hours later, the following couple of days were really wonderful, but she was SO oily. Got it all out of her yesterday though. Never know if we don't try! Vicki

  10. When used on bathing, use as final rinse for maintenance bath..can mix with your condioner, and if it has to be rinsed make sure to rinse seventy percent.

  11. Very good question! This didn't even cross my mind as Gizmo's hair isn't long enough yet to be an issue with his collar. I will look forward to hearing some of the answers from the group!
