  2. Fingers crossed it's just a lot of mess and shredding that Riley's doing and NOT eating it at all. It's just wet and soggy bits on the floor and in his mouth! lol. babybluegirl 10:35pm

  6. Oh, how precious is Riley! But, what a BRAT! I've had birds chew up newspapers and dogs chew up puppy pads and to the best of my knowledge, they never did eat any of it. Just made BIG messes! Vicki

  7. Woke up this morning to 6 degrees....Burrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Have enough soup for leftovers for tonight. I will be thinking of you all when we sit down tonight to that delecious bowl of soup. And Shelia even though there are potatoes in the receipe I use the red potatoe which is lower in carbs than any other potatoe so the carb count is low. Like Pam if you do not like Kale you can use Chard or spinach. I have been using store bought Kale, but my Kale in the garden is ready to use and WOW what a differance in flavor. Will be growing it from now on.

  10. Nothing like a pot of homemade soup in cold weather! This is one of my faves, but since I despise kale I substitute chard.

  11. I am going to have to broaden your food world......arugula is a dark green leafy veggie. Great in salads. But you can also use in soups. Some of the mixed salad greens that you buy in the stores will have it listed as one of the ingredients.

  18. Most newpaper ink is made from non toxic soybean material but be sure he is not eating it.........it can cause blockage in the intestines and will require surgery to correct. From your post it sounds like he is shredding but to be on the safe side you can make or purchase cloth pads with water proof linings........I was about to do that for my guys because Lexie was shredding up the potty pads and I was did not to take any chance of her eating any of the material but she only did it twice and then stopped doing it.

  20. Thank you for all the thank yous Snickers will be in my care as a foster - we're not adopting him. His situation is so much like our Lulu's was......it just seemed he belonged here until he is adopted. We spend most of the summer in Oregon (we live in CA) so he can stay with us until the end of March. I DO belong to the Yahoo Blind Dogs group but never found much good info there. Most of the dogs there went "suddenly blind" and have a very hard time adapting. Sinckers, like our Lulu has had very little sight for a long time so has learned how to navigate through a home. I am told he
