  1. Bosco uses pee pads and never lifts his leg indoors. He does when he goes outside though. He wasn't trained just did it naturally.

  2. I applaud what you are doing and pray that someone adopts Snickers before you go to Oregon.

  3. Thank you for all the thank yous Snickers will be in my care as a foster - we're not adopting him. His situation is so much like our Lulu's was......it just seemed he belonged here until he is adopted. We spend most of the summer in Oregon (we live in CA) so he can stay with us until the end of March. I DO belong to the Yahoo Blind Dogs group but never found much good info there. Most of the dogs there went "suddenly blind" and have a very hard time adapting. Sinckers, like our Lulu has had very little sight for a long time so has learned how to navigate through a home. I am told he

  6. I like the sounds of that......planning your veggie garden. Have been getting seed books everyday in the mail. I am going to be working on setting up a kitchen garden this year......with a selection of herbs and lettuces. Have an area all set up that is right off the back of the house.....easy to get to when I need something. Spring can not get here soon enough. When I get the winter blaws I go into my greenhouse and look at my geraniums and ferns..............

  8. No Jo-Anne it runs in the line of spinach.....whenever I want to make a salad with different types of greens I will use this. It has a real mild taste. I was trying to find something for Shelia to replace the Kale in the soup and came up with a few suggestions to see what would work for her but she is a picky eater like some of our paws.........

  10. Woke up this morning to 6 degrees....Burrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Have enough soup for leftovers for tonight. I will be thinking of you all when we sit down tonight to that delecious bowl of soup. And Shelia even though there are potatoes in the receipe I use the red potatoe which is lower in carbs than any other potatoe so the carb count is low. Like Pam if you do not like Kale you can use Chard or spinach. I have been using store bought Kale, but my Kale in the garden is ready to use and WOW what a differance in flavor. Will be growing it from now on.

  15. Bless you for helping the old ones! There used to be (maybe still is) a very good Yahoo group for people with blind dogs. One of the best tips I know of is to scent different areas of your house using food flavoring (vanilla at the back door, lemon at the top of stairs, etc., etc.). Makes it easier for the dog to navigate safely.
