Chloe's Mama 2
Seems like every time Mom reaches down to pet Chloe, Chloe pees. Just a little while ago, she peed 3 seperate times in a matter of mins that Mom was here, including once on her shoe. She's done it to me, a couple of times. And I think she's done it to Mary a few times. Is this just a puppy thing or can this be corrected somehow?
Carolina Girl 2
My Daisy used to do this. She still does on occasion. I tell people not to look at her or talk to her right when they come in. After they come in and she is not so excited, then they can pet her. She will pee, then start flipping her tail in it. Pee gets slung everywhere. She also does this if you try to put a leash on her. I know this sounds crazy, but we let her out and then when she's in the grass we'll put a leash on her. It's a pain in the butt, however it could be much worse. Daisy has gotten a lot better. She used to do it with everybody, now she only does it with certain people.
mileysmom 2
My moms dog does it every once in a while when i come around.... But usually just when she has to pee really bad. Miley will also do it if she has to pee really bad and my boyfriend yells at her or something.
mom2Gizmo 24
She may or may not outgrow it. It is submissive and/or excited peeing. Make your comings and goings low key if you can. And you really need to just try to manage it....but not correct it in any way. Submissive peeing will just get worse with correction.
tzukeeper 12
Submissive urination can often be corrected by instilling confidence in your dog. This can be accomplished by using NILIF. It's a simple strategy that cost nothing. I have posted the link below....it's a 5 minute read and very easy to get started with right away. I can't say enough about this technique. My dogs have much better manners now. Especially Yugi...he use to pee on everyone that dared reach down to pet him. http://k9deb.com/nilif.htm
