SUNDAY 21st Feb: Sand dunes
Sidney: The shed roof is peeling worse and worse. Of course, i always said it would be a complete disaster. So reassuring to be always right, isn't it?
Once i am trapped in prison, I won't be able to monitor the deterioration, will I?
2 days before they abandon me.
Cato: We went to the Sand Dune beach today. Haven't been there in ages.
we walk along the dune path, then turn round and walk back along the beach. But we only go in good weather. Mum took us there once, and the wind nearly blew us all over.
Tara hardly beat me up at all today. We have been having long walks lately, so maybe she is tired. Or maybe now she thinks she is being starved, she doesnt have the strength...? Yesterday we had salmon and haddock for breakfast. Yum. Then we had beef for tea, and she ate mine when i was distracted, but i wasn't really hungry. Then chicken thigh for breakfast. So we aren't really starving, but Tara is being a pest about it. We aren't allowed to beg, but she keeps trying.
This is the view from the top of the dunes
People put benches along the path, in memory of people who liked being here. Lovely. Someone has left flowers too, this time. Tara jumped up and sniffed them.
This is a closeup of the fort we can see from our other beaches.
People are WEIRD. He has a thing to look for metal. !?!?
This is an old bench that isn't maintained any more.
Tara: These are MY footprints.
This is walking back on the beach.
I climb EVERYTHING
this is when i went all the way up, and wimpy, boring, Cato was trying to get me to come back down, cos he thought i would get lost.
as if I would! I am clever and brave and he is just a fuss pot.
besides, i came down when Dad called. I thought he was going to give me a treat, but he didn't.
