THURSDAY 3rd Mar: Sunny and short

Cato:

It was sunny!  Feels like we haven't seen any sun for days.  So we rested all morning, then went out with Mum and Dad for a walk at the big lake.  Mum put her foot down (in a puddle) and said we couldn't go Off Path, cos of all the recent rain.  Humans are wimps, aren't they?  So we only walked round the lake, but it was still a good sniff.

There was so much rain that all the mud has slipped into the water and made it brown.  See?

Remember all those seagulls that we chased out of our park yesterday?

Well they cheekily decided to visit our lake today!  And they were REALLY SNEAKY!  They floated about where we couldn't reach them.  We wanted to chase them off here, too.  But we couldn't. :(

See all the water in the grass?  It is fun to sploosh through!

So we had a fight instead.

More bullrushes:

Mum was a bit worried about me last night.  I had a big meal the day before, then I didn't want breakfast.  And by last night, I was shivering and trembly.  Mum didn't know whether it was low blood sugar, or a chill from getting so wet.  I think it was from having a daffodil shoved in my face, but she wasn't listening.  Anyway, she hand fed me some nibbly kibbly stuff, and I started to feel a bit better.  But I still didn't want my tea.

Then today, she says 'well, if you want to chase seagulls and fight Tara for the entire walk, there isn't much wrong with you, is there?'

Busted!

Tara:

Good fight!  Cato doesn't want me to show you the pics where he is being splatted, but they are best bits.

Did you see how dirty his feet are?

This is my bench!  Cato can't jump up here.  Cos he is a short arse and scared of heights.  Hahahahaha!

image_zpsma8acwbh.jpeg

There were some people sitting on another of my benches near the park.  So I jumped up to say hello, and they nearly fell off!    Hahahaha!   Mum apologised, but there was no need.  They kept saying How Cute, and giving me an ear rub.  So they were OK

Mum says that I should remember not everyone likes dogs in their face, and I shouldn't jump up without permission.  But I only do it when I am miles away from her, and I can't hear her telling me off.

I am still practicing my LEAPING, but nothing is a challenge.

A ladder would be a challenge.  But Dad is a spoilsport, and says 'No!!!' :(

Sidney:

At last!  They opened the window on time.  It wasn't raining.  It was sunny.  They gave me breakfast early enough that I could have a small digestive nap and then go out as the morning warmed up...

Why can't they do this every day?  It isn't rocket science, is it?

See you later.  Don't intend to be back until dark.

Oh yes! I did spot the dirty feet ? Lots of muddy puddles to jump in today, they had your names written all over them)

Tara, you are excellent at surprising people.. Hehe ( Mummy, where's the picture? I would loved to have seen their faces.. Lol)

Cato,. Do you make noises when you're play fighting with Tara. My two do, and people thinking they are killing each other.

They make horrific snarly growly noises.  People often think they are killing each other.

Then they break off and go scampering off together to sniff the next sniffy thing.

The only time I ever see it get serious is when Tara gets too overexcited and hurts Cato.  Then he yelps and barks sharply (high and hard sound).  The longer and louder the worse she hurt him.    She usually backs off and starts sniffing the ground or rolling onto one shoulder, to apologise/appease.

My aunt rang the other day. ( the aunt with Mean Minnie) she heard them playing (errrhh killing each other) and said aren't you going to stop them? that sounds terrible... I said they are only playing, but if one does yelp because they got nipped, they will calm down. But she doesn't seem to think they are playing...

Oh meant to say. Lovely quality picture of the murky water . The way you've taken the picture looking down.  I actually feel like I'm going to fall in!!!  Haha :roflmao:

thats how bad I am around lakes and rivers..

There is a pond (probably man made) where we used to live.  When I was a kid we always went there to feed the ducks and catch frogs in the Spring.  Later on it got upgraded to have paddle boats.  That was too expensive for my family but I did do it a couple of times as an adult, taking my own kids and grandkids.  The whole time out on the water I was scared to death someone was going to fall in that nasty, muddy, green water.....full of duck poop and who knows what else!

Mean Minnie's Auntie should hear Boxers playing with each other.....anyone would think they were hearing a "go for the kill Pit Bull fight" but they're just playing.

Thank you!  I blame the phone camera :)  so surprised and delighted with it.  Just imagine how tightly i was holding it as it was over that water.  Lol

@Marlene I've seen boxers playing. I don't think I, or the house! could cope. :cheezy:

No kidding...you should see and hear the furniture flying, the walls being thumped into and the growling, barking that goes on!  And for some reason......they think it's more fun to do it in the house more than outside.

What a gorgeous day for a walk!! Cato you sure did get your feet muddy! And Tara I sure would have loved seeing those people you jumped up and greeted but I'm having fun imagining their faces! Sidney I sure hope you had a fun time being out today and that your paw feels much better!

Just look at those little puddles like they were made just for Tara and Cato. Another great walk thru your beautiful surroundings. Cato and Tara would have a ball with Sophie, Allie and Bailey as they love to romp like that when they are outside (well inside too if they have not been out in awhile) and Winnie is the referee of the romping match running around them as they romp and barking. Fun is had by all.

Yes your bulrushes very much look like our cattails...........

Sidney this is for you............funny-animal-pictures-with-captions-007-
