SATURDAY 5th Mar: Two walk day!!! Yippee!!!
Sidney:
I shall start today, because Mum specially took some pictures to show you how beautiful I am. I permitted it, because I do not think that dogs should take centre stage in anything, even a blog.
So this is me, first thing this morning. I am not sleepy. I am blinking slowly and lovingly at Mum, because I want her to open the window. She slept in til 9 this morning. I had been very patient. The big green lump is Dad. Very useful as a pillow and foot rest.
When Mum did not open my window immediately on being asked, I made my instructions more clear.
And then, when she continued to shirk her window opening and breakfast duties, I made it perfectly clear that I was i) not happy, ii) still waiting, iii) not going to give up until she did what I wanted.
She got there in the end.
Cato:
We had a good beach walk, but it was very short, on account of the weather. Freezing wind and scattered showers.
We played Ping Pong, but no photos cos it was actually hailing at the time. No cuttlefish shells either.
When Mum's nose had turned into a red dripping icicle, we went into the lovely coffee shop that is our second favourite cafe.
They don't serve sausages, but they do bring us a small plate of dog biscuits, all to ourselves.
This is me waiting for them to arrive, and getting a bit worried cos she phaffed about with coffee, when she could have brought the biscuits over much quicker!
These are the biscuits, but she put them on the table, where we couldn't reach!
Tara:
Mum tried to pretend that the nice lady had only brought 2 biscuits, but I knew better. I could SMELL them. Mum is very mean sometimes!
Mum:
After lunch, we went for walk no. 2, in the town park, to meet a good friend. We trundle round, have a cuppa, sit and put the world to rights. The dogs love her, and we are all very amused that she speaks to them in Cat, not Dog. So there are a few language barriers, but no one minds.
Here are the crocuses again. Last weekend there were lots of yellow ones in flower. This week, they were mostly gone, and the purple ones were in full bloom. Stunning. There must be tens of thousands of them! Such a delight.
We had another of those oh-my-god-i-cannot-believe-my-dogs-just-did-that! moments.
Sigh.
There I was, standing photographing these exquisite flowers, and Cato decided to blunder across them. Bending a couple.
But then Tara decided to ATTACK!!! and bent a few more. Now they were both the other side of the crocuses.
I called them back, with a treat, and they were very good. Both came immediately, and cheerfully. A few more crocus crushings.
I was embarrassed by this time.
Then, because Cato had got his treat first, Tara went into Mugging Mode, and leaped on him - and, you've guessed it, WWIII broke out - all over the poor plants.
CRINGE
I think they were showing off for Aunty Sue.
All I could do was walk off swiftly, and call them to me again, with another treat - leaving an area of trampled crocuses about the size of a single mattress.
Sometimes I don't think I should be allowed to keep dogs!
