SUNDAY 10th Apr: Town Park dramas

Tara:  So we had a lovely walk today, except for the bits that Cato ruined, cos he is a wimp.

This is me.  Mum likes this photo.  And so do I.  I look all like a queen, don't I?

While this is Cato looking all scruffy and manky

We went to the nice park with the ducks and stuff in the middle of town, cos Mum wanted somewhere she could sit down if she wanted (she still coughs ALL NIGHT, you know), and we like chasing ducks so we said yes.  But then Cato messed it all up.

This is me on the picnic table waiting for Dad to come back with the drinks.

And this is us investigating the rabbits and chickenses.  But we can't reach them!

Cato:  I did NOT mess it all up.  I just like everyone to stay together.  We are a PACK and we are safer together, and when Mum is ill we shouldn't go wandering off.  I will explain wot happened, cos you will never get any sense out of Tara!

First of all we went round the park once and a half, and Mum took flower pics, and Dad huffed (ever since he had to take photos he pretends like it is an awful thing, but he is just joshing).  Anyway, then Mum wanted a sit down, so we found a cafe table, which Tara sat on.  Of course.  And Dad got us all drinks.  Then Mum stayed sitting and Dad went off to hide behind nearby trees to play ping pong.  Tara was dashing about all over excited and bouncy, but I knew if I joined in, she would bounce all over me.  Tara ruins Ping Pong :( So I sat with Mum.  Besides, I wanted to stay with Mum.  Cos of being togetherasapack.

Then Dad says to Mum 'You stay here and I will take them round the park again, and pick you up on the way back to the car'.  Tara thought this was a great idea.  Of course.  And I didn't.  But we set off.  And we got about 1/4 of the way round this big grass area

And I got worried for Mum.  Where was she?  Was she OK?  The Pack should stay together.

So I sat down, and wouldn't budge til Mum caught up.  Only she didn't.  And Dad kept walking further and further.  And I had to make a very difficult decision.  Which I don't like doing.  Cos decisions are for PackLeaderMum, or DeputyDad, not for me.  But Mum wasn't there.  And Dad just kept taking us further and further away from Mum.  So I set off back to find Mum.  And I was doing OK.  Mum could see me coming, and she was calling me.  But then a group of humans and kids and dogs all got in the way, and I got confused and it was very stressful.  And I couldn't find Mum even though she was only about 50 feet away, cos of all the noise (and I am a bit short sighted).  But Mum came and found me.

Then we had another sit down and a drink and Tara and Dad came back, and we got in the car and came home.

I am going to have a big sleep now, cos it wasn't fun, and Tara is too stupid to realise that we could have all got LOST.

Mum:

Hmmm.  Poor lad.  He had a rather hard afternoon.  We may well get howling tonight in his sleep.  He really hates it when the pack splits up.  Another lesson learned.  If we separate, use leads.  Mind you. I am impressed with his strong sense of responsibility and pack awareness, don't you think?  Tara was completely oblivious to my absence, and never even realised that I wasn't with them :roflmao:

These are the pics I took.  It is a lovely park, created well over a 100 years ago with a lovely range of mature trees, a little area of rabbits, chickens and plants for sale, a lake,  2 band stands and everything was looking stunning on this lovely sunny spring day.  They have Concerts in the Park during the Summer, and Mr C always wants to go, not because of the music, but because we can sit on the grass and he can drink cup after cup of the best Chai Tea he has ever tasted served out of HippyMobile that pulls up onto the grass.

View from near one of the bandstands, facing in 3 different directions.

Cato you are such a good lad  for being concerned about your Mum.......I agree when out and about you should stay in a pack...never know when something may happen. Even when we walk our property all 7 of my guys won't walk around with Dad unless I am in sight........... Love the park that you took your walk in today.......so pretty. I think it would be neat to have a place to go and sit and enjoy a beverage and listen to music..........Cato you get some rest from your stressful walk and I hope your Mum gets rid of her awful cough soon.......and give Tara a paw hug too....she loves you.

Thank you - am definitely getting better.  It was one of those nasty viruses that hit like a ton of bricks, then leave you to crawl slowly back up afterwards.  May have done a bit too much walking at the park (how could I not on such a lovely day?), but am chugging along.  Feeling guilty about disturbing the rest of the pack with the coughing!  So far, Tara is the only one to complain, and Mr C says it isn't a problem. :)  Bless him.  He really is a wonderful man.

I think my husband has the same scobley-mobley virus.  He is SO stubborn and won't take care of himself.  He was good and sick for about  3 weeks with heavy congestion in his chest then in his head.  We are on week 4 with mostly a residual cough  -  but yes we were awfully tired of hearing him cough, especially at night and especially because he won't do anything to get better.......like stay home and rest.  Grrrr - I've been sleeping in the guest room.

Hahaha!  I have been dosing myself liberally with VitC, zinc, echinacia, multivits, sambucol - actually come to think of it, that may have been why I relapsed.  As soon as I started to feel better (Fri and Sat) I eased off on the medicaments, and lo and behold, Sunday evening it bounces back.  Humph.  That'll teach me.  Today I am back with the programme and feeling better for it.

Mind you - first virus in nearly 3 years, so can't complain. Well, I can.  And I am.  But I shouldn't! :roflmao:
