Day AFTER the dog show...I get to be lazy!

What with all the hustle-and-bustle of getting ready-for, packing-for, getting-to and participating in a show (and then packing-up and going back home), I am always exhausted on Monday and have a lazy day then.  The dogs like it because I have lots of leisure time to play with them.  :)

Jack:  It's warming-up and I got to spend 2 hours outside on my long-line.  I caught one chipmunk and one mouse (that Mom knows of), but I spent most of it just sunning myself.  Life is good.

Gus:  It's warming-up, so we got to go out on the deck today.  I barked at a bunch of chipmunks but I couldn't get to them.  Darn Mom and these pens!

Katy:  Spent a little time on the deck, but I am now on my Princess Throne napping and surveying my kingdom.  It's Mom's lazy day so there is hope of cookies at some point.

Drake:  We got outside!  My favorite thing!  I got to sit on Mom's lap!  My favorite thing!  I got to sit on Dad's lap!  My favorite thing!

Mona:  The kids are starting to eat kibble, so I'm not stuck with them all the time.  Whew.  I still love them very much, but those teeth are SHARP!

NaNa:  The kids are all weaned now, so I just play with them a few times a day and sleep with them at night.  I still love them, but I like just being a dog again.

Eve:  I decided to teach Mona and NaNa that I am the Alpha bitch around here.  That didn't go as planned.  Mom says it serves me right.  I'm going to sneak away and pee someplace so she'll step in it.

Dot:  Still in the pen.  Mom is threatening to cut me down again since I was so naughty at the show.  I wish she'd follow-though.

Elle:  Still in the pen.  But, Mom says I was a very good girl and the show and made her very proud so I got to be on the big bed with my humans for a while this morning.

Stephan:  Mom let me out with the little dogs and they were all attacking me, so Mom put a pad on the grooming table and I'm hanging-out there.  It's rather nice, because I'm near Mom when she's working at her computer-thingy so I get extra attention.  Also, there is sun coming in the window so I get to bask.

Tai:  Mom let me out with the little dogs and they were all running-away from me.  Mom says it's because I play too rough.  She finally put me on a long-line out back with Jack and we got to play and then I took a nap.  I wish she'd let me play with those puppies!  I bet they'd REALLY squeak better than plain old squeaky toys!

Kirk:  I have a new name, for some reason.  Mom's friend came-over yesterday and my brothers and I had to walk back and forth and then stand nicely on the table while we were man-handed (pup-handled?).  Apparently, I'm the "pick", whatever that is. Now, I have to go wrassle with my brothers.

Porthos and Aramis:  Yesterday was really weird, and all-of-a-sudden Athos has a new name.  We got-together will Holly and Lauren this morning and had a WWE Puppy Smackdown.  It was fun!

Holly and Loren:  Mom's friend was very nice but we didn't like having our mouths open so she could see our bites (whatever that is).  It will be another 10 days until our REAL evaluation, but Mom was happy to get her friend's opinion.  This morning we played with Kirk (who was Athos yesterday, and we're a little confused), Aramis and Porthos and had a BIG group wrassle.  We held our own with those bigger puppies!

Mom:  So, on with the rest of my lazy day!  Soup and paninis for dinner.  :)

Fantastic.  Sounds like Athos/Kirk is showing a lot of promise?

Do you keep one from every litter, or just if they are outstanding (and you have had a couple of outstanding ones recently)?

He's VERY promising!  We don't keep a puppy from every litter:  we breed to improve on the dogs we have.  Some don't develop the way we like and they go to wonderful pet homes.  Our true priority is a healthy, happy puppy that is sound in body and mind.
