MONDAY 5th May: May Day

Cato:

We had a lie in this morning.  All four of us on the Big Bed.   I had a Nighttime Bowel Event in the middle of the night, and had to wake up Mum with a bark, but she carried me downstairs and then went to sleep in her office chair until I had finished.  She says that we need to look at this, cos this is the 3rd time in a week I have had a Nighttime Bowel Event, and she doesn't want it becoming a habit.

I am just sorry that she doesn't want to have a game, cos I always come in from the garden really bouncy, and it is boring to go straight back to bed.

So we had a lie in, after waking Dad up with ear licks.  He loves my ear licks more than he likes Tara's cos Tara is always so over-enthusiastic she tries to stand on his face and neck.

Not much of a walk today. :(

Mum said that we didn't have much time, and would have to make do with a trip to get coffee. :coffee: In Costa.  Well, sitting outside Costa.

This is us waiting for Dad to come back with the boring coffee stuff.

The Green place is where Mum goes to get the money stuff so that we can eat her out of house and home.

There was a small human at the coffee place that looked interesting.  She was only as tall as a chair, and was dressed in pink.  So she would have got on with Tara.  But her family treated us like we were dangerous attack-beasts and rushed off without saying hello.

The wind was nice and warm today, so even though it was a bit grey, it was WARM and grey.

Tara:

After the boring coffee (although we did get jerky chews, so that was fun) and not being allowed to play with my PINK Sister, and not being able to bounce on Cato under the table.  And not being allowed up onto Dad's lap.  And not being allowed to  explore. :(  We went down the High Street so Dad could get some food for his W*rk this evening.  We got to stand outside the food place when he went in.  We kept a good watch, in case anything interesting happened.  And Cato got a bit stressed as usual, cos the pack had split up.  But Mum said wot a Good Girl I was for not whining.

This is me, not whining:

I tried to sit in the middle of the path, so that I could get the most attention, but Mum was mean and pulled me back.

And this is me when I saw Dad coming back.  You can tell I love Dad more than Cato does, cos Cato was staring off across the road at something boring.

Mum:

Not many pics today!  forgot to take any during the walk to and from Costa.  Mind you, it would mainly have been Cato sniffing lamp posts and Tara trying to trip Her Dad up, so you haven't missed much. lol.

Do you think Cato is over weight?

They have both been on a diet, and gently lost a bit of weight over the last 8-10 weeks.  Tara is looking fab.  Very lean and mean and muscly.  Fit as a fiddle.  Perfect waistline, I think. But Cato... still think he could have a slightly more defined waist, and these shots are quite good angles to show you...

What do you think?  I am really open to you all saying 'No! he is perfect!' and then I don't have to give him little portions any more - but my main priority is his long term health, so will do it if needed.  He definitely has a thicker layer of fat than Tara, but I can feel the knobs of his spine, and he does have a waist - just not as defined a waist as he had before he got the ball-chop.

I don't think Cato looks overweight!  To me, he looks perfect!  But I'm not a professional by any means so what do I know?  :potplant:

They are always adorable to me!

I think Cato looks fine.  Some dogs just have bigger rib cages than others so they LOOK wider.

Thank you! :)

He does have a wide rib cage (and bowed front legs, so maybe that is it).

I don't want him to regain the excess, he was losing his waist fast!  But I have noticed that after 2+ years of not being interested in food, these last couple of months of smaller portions makes him eat every meal, with relish, so I think I need to find a happy medium, and make sure he eats small and regularly, rather than gorging and then missing meals.

Cato....Shorty says you look fine!  But if anyone says you look fat........not fluffy - get a haircut!  I am always amazed at how small Shorty G is after having a fresh haircut.

The green place for $$$ - LOL.  When my kids were little and I had to tell them we didn't have enough money for such'n'such.....they would tell me to "just go to the grocery store - they always give you money!"  That was because I was writing the check for a bit more money than the cost of groceries.

I think Cato looks fine.......with having 7 each one of them is proportion different ........heads are shaped different.......rib cage....body lenght.....the shorter the legs the stocker the body.......the longer the legs the skinner the body........it seems.........but yet all weigh within a couple pounds of each other.  Plus the more hair the larger they appear......until you pick them up.  How patient you both were waiting for your family to do their thing while you both sat and waited........there will be plenty of walks to catch up for your down time today........

Cato sweetie you and me have the same problem, we're shorter so we look bigger! Sooo unfair, Tara's just taller/ longer so she looks skinnier!:judy:Cato really reminds me of Missy with the big shoulders and chest. Missy says he's just Perfect!:throb:

Cato:

Thank you all,  Aunties.

Missie is perfect too. :)

Mum just told me what you have all been saying, and you are right.  It is all about my manly depth of chest.  And Mum should be worrying about feeding me up, not starving me.  Besides, I need a bit of weight to fight back against her.  And to balance my tail.  Which has  grown.  Has anyone noticed?

Looking forward to breakfast now. :ohyeah:

Mum:

Shouldn't laugh, but have just woken up, and left all three of them (Dad. C & T) asleep upstairs.  Well, I say that.  I am perfectly aware that Tara was awake, and positively vibrating with excitement  at the thought of joining Her Dad on the bed, as soon as Dragon Mum left them alone  together.  lol.  I could see her watching me from the shadows of her den.

I deliberately didn't invite her up, cos Dad didn't get in from work until 2am, and he needs his rest, but I wonder how long she waited? Do you think my feet had even hit the bottom step of the stairs?

:roflmao:
