TUESDAY 24th May: Pack walk round cemetery

Tara:

Had to sleep all day cos Mum was working.  Dad went out too, but not to work.  He went to see Pops and Mam, but didn't take us!  So we slept instead.

Today was windy so all the sniffs blew past really quick.  And there were seeds and cut grass.  Mum says she needs to check my knickers for tangles and stuff.  We did Our Field and the Cemetery, and down the Slippy Road, and saw a CAT!!!  It was tortoiseshell, so it wasn't like Sidney, so we tried to chase it, and had to look in every single front garden from there to home, in case it was hiding there!

(Mum: that is over 50 front gardens.  They pulled to look through the gate of every single one!!!!!)

This is me racing Dad up the steps.  Cato had a head start, so him being first doesn't count.

This is me sitting waiting for Cato to finish drinking

And this is me bored of waiting

And me sniffing for treats.  A lady sits at this bench in the cemetery every day, and she gives us treats.  She is lovely.  And sometimes she drops bits!!!

Cato:

We had a good walk, except that the cemetery means leads. :(

And the Treat Lady wasn't there today. :(

This is me making the best of it waiting for a Mum-treat after I had my drink.  It was kibble today, cos they have run out of bits of jerky.

This is some AWESOMELY sniffy grass in Our Field.  You can't see from the pic, but it is twice as tall as me, and there are sniffs on it all the way up!

The rest of it is mainly Mum's pictures.  But I am not looking forward to tonight.  I accidentally got some seeds in my trousers, and around my toes.  They are soft and green and sticky.  They don't hurt or anything.  But when Mum finds out they are there, she is going to want to fuss a lot.  There will be the brush and comb, and possibly stinky shampoo and stuff.  I am a little bit worried.  When does a foot bath become a Big Bath?

We did have fun in the garden at lunchtime.  Mum got the long orange snakey hosepipe thing out and we played tug of war with it for AGES.  And she swept the tiles.  Tara got very excited.  I don't think she realised that the broom wasn't a person.

Isn't this gorgeous?  I wonder what happens the rest of the year?

Don't know what this is, but it is very pretty.

other people's houses always look soooo interesting, don't they?

Edited to add:  Poor Cato's worries were understandable.  They escaped the B***, just.  But had a long session each on the grooming table.  So many sticky seeds.  Now they need a good long run in wet grass, and if there is any residual stickiness, then a bath is unavoidable. :(

Yes! (says Cato) we are glad too!

Mum used that new hyponotising stuff on us too.  Funny smell.  But we are really fluffy.  And Tara had her tail trimmed.  I think it looks better than mine now. :( so I need to ask Mum for another trim.

We have just got up and gone for our first widdle, and it is horrible out there today.  Wet and windy.  Mum says we may not walk today.  I think it is just cos she wants to spend every waking moment in the splashy pool.

But we have been given a pig's ear each, and we LOVE them.  Although Tara keeps thinking that mine is nicer than hers!  They are LOVELY and sniffy and chewy and they may be the best chew EVER!  I did my full Ancient Chinese Treat Dance, including circling, dancing, tossing, rolling and snapping at it.  It was very exciting!  And now I get to chew it all day. :)

What a quaint old cemetery........all the flowers are beautiful. Sorry to hear that your having to stay inside today but a Pigs Ear is probably just as wonderful.......you can chew....nap.......chew........nap and chew some more. Sounds like Mum is still enjoying her tub of hot water.......tell Mum if Bailey lived at your house he would be timing her and letting her know when it is time to get out.......he sits on his chair and when he thinks time is up he gives the Stink Eye and then he will give a short barking sound and if I ignore him the bark gets a bit louder........the best part is I will say "It is not time yet.......5 more minutes" and he lays back down........:tracy:

Thursday morning:

After a quiet Pigs Ear and Sleep Day yesterday, the weather is utterly still (white sky with cloud cover and no wind), the ground is damp, and we may be able to get out for a walk later.  Shhhh!  I am trying not to let the Hounds get their hopes up.  Poor Cato loves his walks so much he goes into a kind of depressed-sleep-a-lot state when he doesn't get them.

And last night Tara was so full of bounce she was driving us mad.  At one point she was grabbing Cato's tail and trying to pull him off my lap to FORCE him to play.  I stopped her, but then she had to go zooming around bleeding that energy off in other, annoying little ways. :roflmao:

Think we may have a walk no matter what today!
