TUESDAY 24th May: Pack walk round cemetery
Tara:
Had to sleep all day cos Mum was working. Dad went out too, but not to work. He went to see Pops and Mam, but didn't take us! So we slept instead.
Today was windy so all the sniffs blew past really quick. And there were seeds and cut grass. Mum says she needs to check my knickers for tangles and stuff. We did Our Field and the Cemetery, and down the Slippy Road, and saw a CAT!!! It was tortoiseshell, so it wasn't like Sidney, so we tried to chase it, and had to look in every single front garden from there to home, in case it was hiding there!
(Mum: that is over 50 front gardens. They pulled to look through the gate of every single one!!!!!)
This is me racing Dad up the steps. Cato had a head start, so him being first doesn't count.
This is me sitting waiting for Cato to finish drinking
And this is me bored of waiting
And me sniffing for treats. A lady sits at this bench in the cemetery every day, and she gives us treats. She is lovely. And sometimes she drops bits!!!
Cato:
We had a good walk, except that the cemetery means leads.
And the Treat Lady wasn't there today.
This is me making the best of it waiting for a Mum-treat after I had my drink. It was kibble today, cos they have run out of bits of jerky.
This is some AWESOMELY sniffy grass in Our Field. You can't see from the pic, but it is twice as tall as me, and there are sniffs on it all the way up!
The rest of it is mainly Mum's pictures. But I am not looking forward to tonight. I accidentally got some seeds in my trousers, and around my toes. They are soft and green and sticky. They don't hurt or anything. But when Mum finds out they are there, she is going to want to fuss a lot. There will be the brush and comb, and possibly stinky shampoo and stuff. I am a little bit worried. When does a foot bath become a Big Bath?
We did have fun in the garden at lunchtime. Mum got the long orange snakey hosepipe thing out and we played tug of war with it for AGES. And she swept the tiles. Tara got very excited. I don't think she realised that the broom wasn't a person.
Mum:
Graves and flowers
Isn't this gorgeous? I wonder what happens the rest of the year?
Don't know what this is, but it is very pretty.
HUGE lilac tree in full bloom. Must be 30 feet high.
Wallflowers
other people's houses always look soooo interesting, don't they?
Edited to add: Poor Cato's worries were understandable. They escaped the B***, just. But had a long session each on the grooming table. So many sticky seeds. Now they need a good long run in wet grass, and if there is any residual stickiness, then a bath is unavoidable.
