THURSDAY 16th September: Misty woods

Crinkly

Tara:  Mums on holiday!  But I am NOT!!! Not fair!!!

We had to wait til Mum finished work yesterday before we could walk.  On account of her holiday starting then.  But I thought we woz going mountaining, on our hols!  But she says we still have to get to the mountains, and that won't be til Saturday, so she is on hol but I am not. :(

But we went to Bear Woods in the Mist today, so it was OK.  Damp sniffy and misty.

Cato:  It was a good walk.  Dad came too, and we wandered all through the woody bits and it was all damp.  Mum says I am going to need my anti- anti-hist  um... tablets soon, or I will snuffle.

This is a photo of the leaves going yellow, cos of Autumn.

most of the misty stuff had gone by then, but it still felt all lovely and clammy cool.

More and more people are brushing their dogs outside.  Is it moulty season?  I prefer to sit on Mum's lap while we watch tv.  It is more comfortable.

This was a tree right deep in the woods.  Well, 3 trees actually.  Mum says the flowers are probably something called a tribute.  I couldn't reach to sniff them.

Mum says this is Old Ivy.  Older than her.  Or at least VERY old.

More blackberries.  Mum wanted to pick some, but there wasn't time, cos Dad had to get home to eat his tea and go and play his snooker thing.  I don't think I like blackberries.  The bramble patch is huge.  It is nearly as bit as our house floor.  All scrambly and prickly.

Can you see Mr Squirrel?

He is in the crook of the tree branch.

Here is that fungus again, only this time it is going all manky and black and starting to melt.

Tara:  Look at these prickles!  I got one of these in my foots!  It didn't hurt, but my foots woz so fluffy, that Mum didn't find it til later!  And she had to pull it out.  Ow!  And then she trimmed my foots down cos she says they were TOO fluffy.  So more not fairness!  Not only did I get attacked by vicious Attack Prickles, they made me have a horrible foots trim too!

Look wot I found!  A mountain!

(Mum:  I think Tara needs a few lessons in what mountains actually are, don't you? )

This woz right at the end.  Mum took lots of pics of me beating Cato up, and him losing, but all her pics came out bad and blurry, so this is wot we looked like after.

Dad said it woz a tie, and that no one really won.  But that is silly.  Of course I won.

Dad didn't win his snooker though.  He woz a bit disappointed, cos he usually wins.  He is very good.  Cos he's my Dad.

I liked your walk thru Bear Woods......loved the ivy pictures.......amazing the intricate work of the vine and how thick it has gotten with age. If you talk to Lucy, Allie and Lexie regarding the blackberries they would tell you that they are yummy!!  Those nasty picky weeds can be a pain not only for you but for us Mom's trying to remove them........have a wonderful Holiday.........

Wonderful array of seasonal changes .....leaves, trees, vines, berrys and morning mist.. Perfect shots

Summer went by way to fast and fall has truely fallen .....which I'm sure Cato and Tara appreciate the cooler walks now.

Love the last photo...Tara's topknot is really grown out and looks especially nice this morning ? Love it

Me oh my.......I love pie.   Blackberry pie especially.  They grow wild all over the place here and are considered a nuisance and must be cleared off the property.  Right now, the streets, driveways, roofs, cars etc are covered with berry poop.  The birds are feasting on them and pooping purple!

Those ivy roots circling the trees are artistic but killers.  Around here, they are harvested and removed in 3-5 foot lengths.  I have one in my front yard with a climbing flower on it.

Tara:  holiday tomorrow!  We are off for ages and ages in the boring car, Mum says.  But we will stop for widdles and treats.  And then we see our holiday den, and the beach!  And mountains!

Mum:  at this point, i feel i need to point out that we don't actually intend to do much mountain climbing.  There may be boulder climbing.  And bench climbing.  And fallen tree climbing.  We may even go up and down a few hills!  But Tara seems to think that all of those are mountains...  Basically, anything she can climb that Cato can't... By which logic, our bed is a mountain... :roflmao:

Cato:  Mum says we can only take 3 toys each! :sad?: And our beds, and my blankie.  And only two pigs ears.  I wonder if there are sausages in Nor - North - Umbreeah.  What if there aren't?!?

Hopefully I will be able to check in to Chatter Tzu.  There is supposed to be wifi, but I don't know how easy it will be to upload any pics.  I will take lots, but how many you will ultimately get to see... :roflmao:
