The Adventures of Cato, Tara and Jasmine

Sorry to hear you didn't get a walk. Hope Auntie Janes knee gets better soon, then you'll be able to go out with her again.

What a very nice and considerate Mum you have......to take Aunt Jane to the places you all love and "get her out".

And now, Tara's Bad Day is about to get MUCH worse. 

The Halloween Fireworks have started, and will probably continue until after Guy Fawkes

So she will be on a lead all evening, attached to me, and prevented from going outside to bark excitedly at the fireworks and loud banging noises.

- please note, she is not in the slightest bit afraid of the bangs and flashes.  Oh no.  She wants to be involved, to join the fun, to party.  She was exactly the same last year.  In fact, she is currently soooo excited that she is bouncing on Cato, because she can't get outside and join the festivities.

- Cato is, as usual, bombproof, and would sleep through a rocket exploding over our garden.  The only terrors in his world are being left behind, heights and weird surfaces underpaw.  Everything else is just background noise.

That's funny and reminds me of our first Boxer, Katie who was "hell on wheels". There was NOTHING she loved more than raucous football or soccer games.  She ruined games for more than one group of weekend warriors in a park we used to frequent.  

"WOOHOO!!  Lookie there!  Big guys!  Big guys running and crashing into each other.....and there's a BALL involved.  Lemme in there coach!"

Oh.  Wow.

i think we've made a pretty momentous discovery.

you have all seen Tara bouncing on Cato, yes?  How she has a height-weight-bounce advantage? and he ends up underneath a bit too often.

Well... It turns out that having her on a 6 foot leash (wrist loop dropped over my foot as we sit in front of the TV) is just enough of a 'golf handicap' to put them on an equal footing for their fights.  It is a delight to watch!  They are both having a fantastic time, but she is managing to stand on the leash just enough to eliminate her advantage.

this is marvellous.  Cato is having the best time.

Obviously i am supervising them at all times.  Wouldn't want any accidental 'fun' strangulation!!!
